Hello all, been reading the forums to try and find some info on putting a new 9.6v battery in my aeg. Now with the gen 3 version if I have read correctly, you can because of the upgraded internals, but in some posts they say I could blow the fuse so need a change there too, so looking for the definitive answer.

Are there any other adjustments required when putting a more powerful battery in?

The battery that came with the gun a 8.4v 1600mAH ran out at my first skirmish last week after a full charge and I don't know the history of the battery, so thought I would get brand new and with a bit more ooomph.

Generally a 9.6v NiMH is safe, it will wear the gun out slightly faster, possibly knocking 6 months off the lifespan of the internals.
