To see the Jungle Kit watch an episode of 'It ain't half hot Mum'

Corny as the show is they get the kit right and you get to see them in colour unlike a lot of period pics.

a mix of Jungle Green and Desert Sand, all sun and sweat faded and stained.

Oh shit, not "It ain't half hot Mum"! I remember that from my childhood... Like much of the 70's I had hoped it had faded into the dim and distant!

It's a good show. They do the 'army' stuff well the writers were both WW2 vets who were in ENSA (every night something awful) like a lot of that generation of entertainers and a lot of the audience were vets as well so they would always complain like hell about anything too obviously wrong.

Jungle Kit is either the same as Desert Kit or the same but dyed green. So you can either wear a 2 pocket shirt tucked in (like the lightweight modern shirt) or a 4 Pocket shirt as a jacket (like in the 'Aint half hot mum' picks), then you can wear shorts or long trousers.

Another easy WW2 loadout would be a khaki boiler suit, black beret and a belt. If anyone asks, you just can't remember where you left your tank.

Belt should ideally be black P37 one.

Yeah SFrankish, that's the geezer.

I like little touches for authenticity, thats why.

I've got no skirmish-y need for the whole decon kit that ought to be carried with an S10 and MK4 NBC suit, the various bits just make good toys :P:lol:

You're right, Russ. Somebody must have discovered a stash of them lurking in some MOD cellar somewhere recently!

BTW, did you catch a film called "The Devil's Rock"(2011) t'other day on Horror channel (149 on Virgin, 'kknows on Ski or whatever)? Some good WW2 Brit Commando Loadout-age on the 2 (Kiwi) main protagonists. And it's a giggle as a film too.

Edit: and you've got to get one of those suppressors with the canvas collar-thingy. They look even cooler than an MP5 SD, and let's be fair, that isn't so easy.

Does make me laugh that you want an actual gas mask for authenticity...

...but for the actual outfit you consider a fancy dress costume to be a reasonable option :D

Btw, I decided to ask on the WW2 forums about the validity of a sawn off shotgun. The answer is pretty much:

So I think I will get one anyway but might not take it to WW2 events :D

Question: Given that most of the time I play at an indoor semi only site, should I get one of these:

http://www.airsoftworld.net/burst-wizard-kk-plug-and-play-mosfet-king-kong.html ?

I have my MP5 but it would be fun to have the STEN as an option.

Edit: Actually seems only http://www.airsoftworld.net/new-2014-burst-wizard-king-kong-super-2-mosfet.html is available.

I can't bring myself to recommend a BWKK. They are very complicated to change settings and not reliable as far as i can tell. It's also damn difficult to know if it has broken or if you have fucked up the settings. Plus the entire concept of plug'n'play MOSFETs is bollocks. 1/2 the point is to streamline the circuit so it is low resistance - if you just plug the thing in between the battery and trigger, you don't gain anything other than the bells and whistles the programming allows. But BWKK's can be wired properly. I spose that if you don't mess with it much, just wire it with a 3rd wire to the trigger and set your burst control to 1, then it may well be ok. Seriously though, don't mess with it's more complex functions and don't ever swap out a low charge LiPo (when the LiPo alarm signal sounds) for a NiMh with a higher voltage, because doing that freaks it out so badly that the factory reset procedure no longer works...

Guess that won't be an issue as I only use NiMHs, especially on the sten as it would be a lot more hassle to fit a LiPo in.
