AK47frizzle

A good cheap but not too cheap G36?

Recommended Posts

I really like all the G36 models, especially the K and E versions with a scope, and I really want one as well but if i was to get one, I have to give up my AK47 which I have poured blood and sweat into fixing and modifying it.

My DE/CYMA AK47 is probs worth around £100 - £130 if I sell it.

At the moment I can't find a G36K or E with a scope less than £120

Can you guys help me find one?

I also heard that the SRC G36E Gen II had a flaw with it's battery compartment because it couldn't fit the battery properly in.

Won't find anything decent under £120 new-ish.

All G36s have fiddly battery compartments. I've got around this by using crane stock batteries and taping them either side of the barrel. You have to charge the battery with the gun alongside but it means you don't have to worry about messing around with fitting the battery in. Just slide the foregrip back on and away you go.

The SRC would be the cheapest, but i'd recommend getting the Gen III, not the Gen II.

P.s. Since when was "blood and sweat" equal to £120? :L

Haha lol, i see how you got that.

But yeh, i originally got the DE M900A for £120 but a few months later the gear were all worn out because they were plastic so I got new gearbox set costing £20 to fix the gears and fitted a new piston and bushing into it. But it still has a plastic frame and tappets.

Then it didn't feed very well because the sector gear didn't pull the tappet far enough fire a bb pellet, so i had to trim the nozzle a bit to compensate for it. So then it only worked in semi auto.

Then the some of the hop up split and broke a bit and was a bit iffy.

Then eventually the anti reversal latch gave in and broke, so bought a new metal one. When firing the fixed and modified gearbox, it didn't sound great with all the gears meshing together but it was better than nothing, so a semi auto AK for about 3 months.

Then came my birthday which I got a new CYMA hop up (£4), a brand new CYMA CM02 metal gearbox (£40) and installed it in but there was a problem. The hop up chamber itself didn't fit into the gun so i had to use my old hop up chamber and fit some of the CYMA hop up internals in it. And even that didn't fit into the gearbox and I had to trim it again until it fit in.

The gearbox itself didn't fit into the AK frame and I was so pissed off. I had to trim some of the AK interior until the gearbox finally wedged in enough to close the cover and everything.

But that's not all. Since the wiring of the new gearbox went to the stock and not in the dust cover, I had to completely rewire the whole battery compartments in my technology centre using soldering irons and wire strippers.

When that finally was done I got a new 9.6v nun chuck battery (£40) because the 7 cell stick battery that came with it was too long to fit in the stock.

When all of the above was done, it was finally complete. It is now working perfectly and can achieve 1000 rpm. I had spent so much time fixing it. And all the gearbox and hop up parts and metal gearbox I bought was from my own money and made me broke.

And if that's not worth £120, IMMA RAGE!

I have the src sr36 gen 3 & I love it, the battery compartment is no issue & they are shops that sell a large grip so you can fit a larger battery in, or just buy two small type batterys to last you a day or buy one 7v lipo pack.

The gun is solid, well made & has a consistent fps of around 330 - 340, I know because my chrono came today :)

There arn't larger foreend if you get the K or standard length though.

Its only the C that has a large battery type front end.

I can fit a 9.6v mini battery in the front on my SRC G36 eas. Is it a 2 tone gun your after looking at the one in your pic ? If so £150 gets you a SRC gen 2 clear bodied

Look for a jing gong though your budget is a bit low.

Also I think you'll struggle to get £120 for your AK- just because you put a lot of effort it, doesn't mean its worth a lot. When people see that its a DE, the chances are that they'll avoid regardless of what make the other bits are.

Yes, i am looking a two tone gun.

And yeh, i've seen that before, it's a tiny bit out of my range in terms of money but i guess i could negotiate around it XD

I'd love a G36K or E with the scope on it but if i can't get my hands on those versions, i guess i'll have to go for the C version.... or an M14..... EBR but since KART stopped making it, G&G is left but they are way out of my budget

well... there is this http://www.crw-airsoft.com/g36-with-scopebipod-by-jg-g608-5-1249-p.asp But it's from CRW and adding up all the shipping costs will end up being £164, then once I receive, I would need to spray paint it two tone... which is a pain...

or there is this one http://www.wolfarmouries.co.uk/airsoft/bb/product.asp?page=product&id=GE0631 But i found complaints that the battery won't fit in

or I can search for a two tone K version

You should avoid SRC Gen II guns, full stop. If you can't get Gen III, don't bother.

I know M_P broached this subject with you already, but I feel I will be doing you more of a favour by not trying to take your feelings into consideration as he did.

Do you want to know how much your AK is worth? £20 for parts tops, £35 inc. the battery. You might get £40 if you sell them separately.

Most UK retailers will 2-tone any gun you want. The average charge seems to be about £15.

The JG G36C has a good reputation. You could always take advantage of the fact that an airsoft G36 is like the real steel in being modular: get the JG and use it while you save up for a K or E length front end and a carry handle scope. I got a 3x one of those for my SRC Gen III G36KV for £30, made in China, totally sturdy and good clear optics. You could also go with a metal RIS front end, if you like, maybe see what's going in the sales threads here and elsewhere, or on fleabay... E length front end with bi-pod, TBB, suppressor, steel external barrel with bayonet lug, foregrip-pod, M4 magwell converter... whatever...

agreed with Ian, your AK is unfortunately not really worth the effort of trying to sell. For example:

http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/AEG_AEP_APS_APS_AK47_Real_Wood_Electric_Blowback_AEG.htm

that gun is leagues ahead of yours in terms of external finish, comes with a warranty and it's probably a better performer too, 2 tones have more or less zero resale value.

The up-side is that you don't have to sell off the gun you spent so long getting just right!

Well, i'm not the guy who would spend alot of money on an airsoft gun; even my parents were not exactly happy with all the money spent on my AK.

So, I can either sell stuff and make £££ or I could trade from this site.

If you have any stuff you don't need, sell them on ebay to make some cash towards the gun you want.

well, um thing is... i don't have much that has value...

I have a custom built guitar but no way am I gonna sell that.

I have 3 airsoft guns, my AK (some value), shotgun (little value) and a pistol (no value at all)

The rest of the stuff in my room are; a laptop (not gonna sell that otherwise i wouldn't be typing right now), and books i need for school.... and of course my bed

Yeah, I hear you. It's a shame that you didn't get some advice from here before spending so much polishing a turd. Having said that, I did get advice before buying my 1st gun, which was also an AK, and pretty much everyone advised against CYMA...

I bought one anyway and was shocked at how good it was. Not that it was robust enough to withstand being repeatedly dis/reassembled by somebody with little to no idea what he was about lol! But hey, she will rise from the ashes like a phoenix, ready to raise welts on the enemies of The People...

Unfortunately that doesn't help you now. You may have to bend over and take it flipping burgers or something, because, honestly, your AK is not going to help you get a G36. Not at all. In no way. Never. Under no circumstances.
