Hey all!

I am 14 and have been doing airsoft for just under a year, i currently have a viper assault vest but I cant fit all of my mags in it, therefore i am looking to get a MOLLE plate carrier but as i am only 5ft3 i am struggling to find one that fits.

I am willing to spend £60-£80.

Thanks guys :)

I'd say go for a MOLLE belt or a chest rig, I don't know of too many quality plate carriers that'll be within that price, carry loads of pouches and go down really small. I'm guessing your width is proportional to your height and most rigs are like a tent on you? Or is height itself the problem?

Various PCs here that are well made and in your budget:

A lot of them won't fit you though. Most PCs are designed for 6 foot+ blokes with a lot of bulk.

I'd recommend something like this:

-All the MOLLE space you'll need to mount pouches that'll allow you to carry more mags than you'll ever need.

-Cheap (to leave money for those pouches)

-Extremely adjustable

I have heard the begadi small type plate carriers are good. I personally use the Viper Molle Chest rig, though I had to toss the rear molle belt in favour of a simple strap to make it fit. I'm about 5ft10 but I'm pretty slight, so finding rigs that fit is an absolute pain. Problem is I'm unlikely to grow significantly either so I have to make do with what I can get :/

hi there

i do understand your concern, so what you want to do is look for the dutch modular vest's although they do not carry plate's they do come in sizes and i know the small size would be a good fit. I have had them in the past but i do not have them at the moment.

hope that may help.

p.s the vests come in dpm and olive green if those are the colours you are looking for?

Thanks guys! I will look into it. Abit of a nooby question but what is the difference between a plate carrier and a chest rig (sorry but important not used to all of the different names yet) Xp

Chest rig is what it says on the tin. A load-carrying rig that sits on the front of your torso, doesn't usually have a back panel included (some have optional ones that can be added). Some of them carry plates just to get confusing, but most don't.

A PC is designed specifically for the carriage of rifle-defeating armour plates, they can just be a front panel but the generally accepted implication is that they consist of two panels. One for your chest one for your back, usually covered in PALS (MOLLE) for attaching pouches. Also often with a cummerbund for adding extra plates/pouches to your sides.

Hi, i have the same problem as you, not much bulk and a bit on the short side, but i would definitely reccommend a Warrior Ricas, it fits me perfectly:

There are also options to buy it with pouches too:

And it comes in Multicam and A-TACs FG as well as OD/Tan:

Maybe something to consider in the future even if your not interested now. :)

I have bought a Flyye FAST plate carrier and have removed the front/rear soft plates and replaced it with a slimmer material. That works. I have also ordered a jumpable plate carrier which should also do the job. I did try both of these before buying, but will do a proper test when in action. Multicam of course!!

It can be quite challenging to find something which are for slimish people!!

Thanks for your help guys and i have decided to go for the Ricas :)

Wouldn't be my recommendation I have to say. I'm 7 inches taller than you, I've got mine pulled even tighter than the minimal setting on the cummerbund and it goes right down to my belt line.

If you've already placed the order... well I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

However how come multicam is more expensive?

Same reason almost every camo item costs more than the equivalent item in a solid colour. Imagine you're running a factory producing cordura, which fabric do you reckon will be simpler and less resource-intensive overall to physically make? A plain product with no pattern that's all one colour? Or a product with a range of colours arranged in a complex pattern involving numerous gradients/different shapes etc?

OD or Coyote cordura, webbing and grosgrain ribbon are all cheap to produce. Soon as you want tactical gear materials in a camo pattern then the base price for actually making the stuff goes up a fair bit. So the cost of the equipment sold to the end-user made from those raw fabrics is accordingly higher. It's nothing specific to MC, A-TACS and any other camo incur the same sort of price rise vs solid colours.
