Task Force (TF) 76 primary objective during Operation JAWBREAKER was to kill / capture several High Value Individuals (HVI) iot* severely cripple the Al Qaeda and Taliban (AQT) Command element in the southern district of Asadabad, the capital city of the Kunar province, Afghanistan.

TF 76 were successful in capturing their HVI Priority one (1) and killing their HVI Priority two (2). This was not without massive loss to the TF and at least 15 soldiers were killed during the operation as a result of the extremely dangerous nature of the environment and the mission.

However, during the operation the TF was able to meet with a small group of the local civilian population (CIVPOP) who had stayed on in the district and begin a small hearts and minds program to gain their trust. Their trust was indeed gained which led to the identification of several AQT individuals previously unknown to ISAF and in particularly JSOC.

Unfortunately the fighting became extremely kinetic throughout the district and the small group of remaining local CIVPOP decided to abandon their homes and shops and flee to the nearby mountains where the remainder of the district CIVPOP were taking refuge away from the fighting.

The fighting was indeed ferocious and the TF was pulled out of the district after handing the Patrol Base (PB) over to US Army Rangers from Bravo Company, 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment.

After several months the impact of having removed key individuals from the AQT command structure is proving to have good effect and small groups of CIVPOP are returning to the district and have began to rebuild their lives.

To ensure this continues JSOC has decided to send in a small element of 1st SFOD-D operators from TF 76 to aid the Rangers in identifying and Kill / Capturing any AQT commanders should they infiltrate the district.

However, the emphasis is now on stabilising the district and beginning a large-scale Hearts and Minds campaign convincing the local people that it is safe to return and that the coalition forces are there for their safety.

A joint TF made up of Special Operation Forces from TF 76 and a company of US Army Rangers from Bravo Company, 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment are to prepare for an Extremely High Risk (EHR) counter insurgency operation in an hostile urban environment iot* make safe the Southern district of Asadabad to enable the local CIVPOP to return to this area.

I would like to send a big thanks out to Ed and the rest of the Tier 1 team for a blinding weekend. Never had such a good time airsofting in the last 7 years of playing. But what impressed me most about this event is the organization that went in to it. This includes the use of Role players during the whole event. Add to that the Skills and Drills training that was carried out on friday night before the op started, big up to the guys from the RM that kindly shared there skills with us on this and it helped up my game and i am sure it helped others. Also another thing that really made this for me was the surreal feeling of being out on patrol at 6am on saturday morning and hearing one of the role players doing the morning call to pray.

So once again a big thanks to ED and the rest of the team for this event and i looked forward to coming back time after time, but next time I will be trying to Red Force.

TIER 1 would like to say a massive THANK YOU to ALL who attended - Operation WHITE KNIGHT

The Operation was a GREAT success from my point and the entire team at TIER 1.

The buzz that surrounded this event made it feel very special from the outset and myself and all of the Team were incredibly excited about going back to Copehill Down Village (CDV) for the second time this year.

For those of you that have not been to CDV, the village is the largest urban and close quarter battle military training facility in Europe. When you drive over the crest of the hill approaching the site, the village can be seen in its entirety and is truly impressive. The view this time was made even more spectacular as two Chinooks were practising touching down on the main approach road as people were arriving early evening. The look on their faces as they had to wait until the giant helo's cleared the road was priceless and I only wish when I was asked if we had arranged this, I could of said yes. Maybe in the future though, who knows.

Early arrivals were able to take part in the Modernised Urban Combat (MUC) training as laid on by two serving Royal Marines Commando NCO's and TIER 1 team members during Friday evening prior to the event going live around 23:59hrs. The stances included IED training using the latest equipment and breaching and room clearing drills again using of host of authentic kit. The effect of having had even a small amount of training was evident throughout the operation and by Sunday morning most sections were rolling through and clearing compounds pretty effectively.

We had a lot of new faces at this event as well as our growing loyal customer base. In fact we had a record turn out, so thank you to all that signed up. However, we get a little nervous when so many first time players attend as we are never sure how they will react to the pace of operations we put them through and the duration they have to maintain it. However, we were all incredibly impressed by the effort and enthusiasm everyone put in. The first real let up was after around 24hrs of continuous tasks. Our advise to grab as much enforced rest as you can when you can was being put into good practise then and operators were starting to get 30 minutes of sleep here and there when they could.

We had some fantastic moments. A suicide bomber blowing himself up shortly after the Shura in the middle of the inner corden, the ANP turning on the BLUE Force section assisting them at their vehicle check point. The funeral procession after a Delta Operator mistakenly threw two grenades into the coffee shop and killed 17 civilians including a women. The BLUE Force trying to clear the mammoth building 27 with its 4 floors and 90 rooms on sunday morning. Some of the best CQB I have seen and a fantastic fight from the RED Force. There are so many more great moments, far too many to list. I will let other people tell their own highlights themselves.

I need to say thank you to many people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to put on our Combat Operations and make them successful in terms of giving the paying customers value for money and we hope a fantastic experience.

To Shez, my righthand man and his flawless running of the RED Force. More and more people are crossing over to the insurgent side and this is a testament to your leadership and a natural respect people have for you.

To Andy B and his Battle Sims. Again, they are the best I have seen and get bigger and better every time. Thank you, I know how much time you put in behind the scenes.

To paul and Craig, for providing the MUC training. The feedback on the ground was great and the people that were privileged to be instructed by Royal Marine Commandos who have done those drills for real in current theatre could not stop singing your praises.

To Josh and the role players. Just blooming fantastic. The amount of props and kit changes you brought was astounding and the enthusiasm you and the lads have for staying in whichever character you are portraying is amazing. Some of it belongs on the screen as it is hilarious at times as it is deadly serious. We can't thank you enough.

To all of the TIER 1 Team. You all work before, throughout and after the event selflessly and without you there would be no TIER 1.

To all the of the players that put their hands up to help out with the clear up. We handed the site back in far better condition than we found it.

Lastly to all of YOU the players that come to TIER 1 events. The standard of play was again some of the best and of the highest standard. We are truly fortunate that you all get immersed into the scenario and your role within it from START EX all the way through until END EX. We did not loose anyone along the way apart from one injured player. To see everyone standing there that started the event with tired, but smiling faces, is what we at TIER 1 do this for.

We sincerely hope that everyone who attended Operation WHITE KNIGHT did feel immersed and enjoyed the event. We are always trying to make our events better for YOU, so please let us know your thoughts.

Our next event - Operation BORDERLINE - Is a rural 36hr Combat Operation near Eversley Hampshire. 16 - 18 November, 2012.

LET'S DO THIS!!!!

Kind regards.
