Odin innovations or a clone?

Hey guys,

ive been looking at getting an Odin speedloader, but I’m slightly reluctant to fork out for one.

what are the clones like? Are they worth it. I have a TM Scar L Recoil, and I’ve heard that potentially it won’t clamp the mags. Is this true...

also been looking at the laylax electric loader, good or bad?

You may need an adapter, I can not confirm if you do or don't , which are 3D printed and sold on various websites.

i got myself an odin one not long after they came out, seen solid use and never had any issues whatsoever. whilst i've heard the clones aren't as good, i've never used them so i wont comment on wether it's worth going for the original.

not sure on the scar l, but i did load a marui mk18 recoil mag for a guy the other week and whilst it fitted it didn't quite go in far enough to trip the mag catch, i just held it in by hand and it loaded just fine.

Odin guys are a small company that have had there products copied and ripped off. Do yourself and them a favour and buy a proper one, your wallet will thank you in the long run.

Almost embarrassed to say that I bought a clone.........

build quality is pretty good and it works a treat

the only thing wrong is that the small screw holding the winding handle does eventually work loose, a wee dab of thread lock fixed that.

I am however , not embarrassed to say I saved about £30 - £40 on it compared to an Odin.

The clones are shit! 

I used to have one and wish I bought my Odin straight away! 

The build quality and the mechanism used to load the bb's are worlds apart. 

As for the compatibility with TM recoil's I use mine to load my PTS recoil mags and it works fine, they just don't lock in place. 

It's no bother though, just hold the mag whilst you load it and you won't have any issues. ??

The clone cost about £1 to make then they knock them out cheap. The are going to last about as long as a Skegness watch.

You have saved nothing... in the end you will need to buy a replacement so you have lost in the long run.... buy cheap buy twice.

Here is a shitty Nuprol one I bought... I bought it because at the time I couldn't find a ODIN anywhere and I was getting cramp in my hand from the amount of mags I was having to reload with speedloader.

Anyway..on it's 3rd outing the handle snapped off and could not be re-attached, so I got a large cap from a tube (Think big toothpaste squeezy tube) and superglue'd that mofo in...  Works like a charm now, but takes a few more rotations  than a handle would take.  Will use it till it breaks completely then buy a proper ODIN.

Drill a hole through the side of the cap and glue a pencil/etc in there..

Got 2 for less than half to cost of an Odin, seems to only problem is the handle breaking off. That’s easily fixable.

But I did pay less than that, as I get to play maybe once a month , and it has lasted me 3 game days so far , my value / cost ratio has already been satisfied.

I don’t condone the ripping off of an original design by a small company though

 but also can’t see how the original is really that much better than my wee knock-off

the guys who bought the real McKoy are the ones who are spitting feathers here ?

id personally get the smoke/clear one with a sound dampening kit. If you need adapter then maybe just wait for the new one (soon [SIZE=125%]™[/SIZE])   could be next year tho same with that 200+ round mid caps with a indicator to see how empty or full its on the side.

joking aside I’ve seen loads of clones go tits up only Odin I’ve personally encountered that broke the guy admitted it was his own fault for miss using it . Any hoo he contacted Odin told them the problem , they said “ahh yes I bet you were doing XYZ with it ?” He admitted this and they STILL sent him a new set of gears and a winder free of charge ! ?

So for me that’s exactly the same reasoning to buy one that players similarly use when they drop £300+ on a vortex scope Due to the guarantee.

PS yes you can load recoil mags and as everyone else has said they don’t lock in place but if you either hold it in place or just brace the mag base against something then again they load fine .?
