  1. Hey guys n gals... I have one of these..... http://www.proairsoftsupplies.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh000001.pl?WD=mp5k&PN=b_and_t_mp5_k_classic_army%2ehtml#SID=73 And am busy trying to customising it to by suit my needs and want a rail on the front. My Brother (who gave me the gun) told me the bloke in the shop said there was no chance but I have found a few things like this..... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Railed-RIS-Handguard-Set-for-MP5-Airsoft-AEG-/290995079067?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET&hash=item43c0a8879b My question is do you think they are compatible or does anyone know of one that is? I basically want rails on the front or bottom to be able to add a torch and a new style of hand grip. It looks to me that these are all to long for the front of my gun, however the long piece in the kit looks like a barrel extension, which will allow me to extend the front of the gun, is this correct? I have no experience of this type of thing and would appreciate the help.
  2. Oooh I quite liek pimp my gun... thats my evening sorted hahaha
  3. Well I am hoping to attend loads of skirmishes next year, need to break out of the Bunker, its ok but want to expand my horizons and travel around a few sites next year so NAE may be a nice way to round off the summer of Airsofting
  4. Brilliant.... thats exactly what I want. Cheers boys, Dan its looks awesome, I want a more woodland effect but thats pretty much what I wana do As soon as I have my gun and attachments I will grab some paint and let you all know how it goes
  5. Another possibly silly question, I am about to purchase a new rifle, will be either tan or black, I would prefer olive green as a base but this seems a limited choice. So. What would be the best way to paint it. I would like a camo pattern rather than a solid colour and was wondering what types of paint to use and the best way to achieve a good pattern. I imagine spray paint and masking tape would be my friend in this endeavour? but wondered if anyone had any tips, of even if there were sites/places which would do it for me? This would give a much better finish I am certain and would save me messing it up. Also how far would I need to strip the gun to not jam working parts with spray... Has anyone painted their own gun in this way? how did it go and have you got any pics? Thanks.
  6. THIS is the reply I wanted... BUT Flecktern has a nice pattern seriously though, great responses and useful points. Noob question, and I know the standard answer is to google it, but what does DPM stand for?
  7. This is very true.... in fact I didnt even notice this line before, one of the main reasons I rely on the red dot is it sits higher than the iron sights on my MP5K which allows me to see, the mask I wear gets in the way of the iron sights.
  8. I play indoors in very low light, I find the red dot so useful. If I know theres an enemy player sticking his head around that corner, I line up the dot where he pops out and when he moves I shoot. I know I am aiming in the correct place then, I just find it easier to concentrate fire in the correct place confident the dot is helping me. I dont find the dot is a put off at all.
  9. Wowza, loads of responses. I kinda get whats being said about not using it properly. I just want a fairly decent pattern camo with matching kit to use in woodland areas. A Ghillie suit was mentioned but thats also on the cards depending on how many outdoor skirmishes I can get too found a great video on youtube ahowing how to make one and its pretty simple considering. Im not one to say I would use the camo properly or even think I know field craft but I was hoping to also camo my gun somehow, either get it painted to minimise the angular black lines as mentioned or use a camo wrap over the gun too.
  10. I play indoors mostly and play in black with black gear, but as I want to be playing outdoors a lot more next year I need to start building an outdoor kit. Baring in mind this is outdoor in the UK so woodland, scrub mostly I presume. BUT To Multicam or not to Multicam.... I have noticed on here a vast range of camo available and a lot of acronyms am am confused. I dont know what "look" I want to go for, but something fairly modern warfare (easy to obtain) as I dont want to scour untold shops for a piece of Madagascan sniper ranger camo from 1472 to complete the look either UK or US army issue is a fairly basic and simple one id say. I am not too bothered about being accurate to a regiment or troop but want a uniformed look rather than different patterns and camo. Happy to mix and match with a standard camo pattern as this would allow me to build kit cheaply and bit by bit, again I know camo will vary for each brand etc but a generic camo pattern should not vary to such an extent from brands its initially visible.... is it? My question is, What pattern/camo would you suggest? It needs to be a green woodland type camo as I am not keen on the desert / tan type look and expect to be in the woods a lot. Cheers!!
  11. Dan88, please explain your gun camo sir... Is is a wrap or is it painted? looks bloody cool and what I kinda had in mind for my outdoors kit im looking to build!!
  12. Even a half decent sight is a greater help than iron sights, looks the part too A gun sling is another decent pick up,
  13. Hey there, as a beginner myself I would say start with a gun, once you have that sorted the vest and pouches would depend on the gun, no point buying pouches for a M4 if you have AK mags etc... Also it depends where you play for your kit. And as I play indoors in the dark mostly I went to Primark and got black combat trousers and a long sleeve tee shirt. For a beginner go for cheap stuff, I hit Ebay hard when I first started, got a mask, gun sling, belt, mag pouches, knee pads and pistols holster from there, nothing cost much more than a tenner for each item. This is pretty much the extent of my current loadout. However I am looking to do lots of outdoor skirmishing next year so will want some sort of multicam set up with a decent vest and backpack to carry all my gear. But like I say, the kit doesnt need to be to spec or expensive and also be careful not to buy things you dont want or need, I built my kit up over 4 or 5 skirmishes, realising after each one I needed something else. On my first visit to an Airsoft shop they tried selling me over half their stock "now Sir, you need a vest, this one here is only £89.99, also these gloves at £25.99 go great and match this mask at £85.99 GRRRRR Only thing I would reccomend spending money on is face protection, either a cool AND COMFORTABLE full face mask, but make sure your visability is ok, or a decent pair of goggles and lower mask.
  14. My Mrs is paranoid with me having RIFs in the house, and the kids knowing about them. I have tried showing her and telling her its totally fine but shes properly anxious we will get raided and arrested
  15. If it wasnt on my sons birthday and carnival weekend I would be there
  16. Its all such a grey area, the more I look into it and read up the more confused I get. They way I see it, I own 2 RIFs and no UKARA membership just yet (working on it) BUT, I only ever take them out with 2 guys who do have a UKARA and on my way to a skirmish, I would never show them off, take them out or even use them in my garden due to the fact I do not want armed cops jumping on me mistaking me for a terrorist. As far as I am concerned I am breaking no laws, hurting no one, scaring no one therefore as long as I am responsible I expect everyone else in this sport to be so too to help maintain a good reputation for Airsoft.
  17. Thanks Duck, Im on my way to my UKARA number, but otherwise shall get my Brother to guy it I defo want a black or tan camo gun not a 2 tone.. I would rather pay a bit more and have RIS rails as that was my biggest gripe with my MP5K, had to spend a fortune on rails to get it how I wanted, cant complain as the gun was free though lol. All this info from an Airsofter and owner is massively valuable. Thanks again.
  18. NO thats fine, willing to spend around 250 with attachments (if poss) on a decent branded gun. G&G and ICS are the names im seeing as well as tokyo mauru (SP?) but those ones are very high priced for my starting gun so will stick to the other two methinks!!.. Have a busy week so will try to get to some stores and handle the guns I like the look of and work out what I want before I decide and look around for the best price.. Thx again.
  19. thats a good point russell, didnt really think of that. I guess im just a sucker for the machine gun look of a M4 rather than the M14. Will hit my local stores next week to have a play with their options before I get my mind set though and jump in. thanks for all the advice tho, much appreciated
  20. Happy to wait, no immediate rush. Just want something I will be happy with. Price variations are soooo wide... What do I need to look out for, makes to avoid, ideal ones to try to buy etc??
  21. I am aware that cheap guns have no value, I am happy spending a bit more for a full metal, solid piece of kit as it will me my main weapon for a few years as I have no desire (YET) to expand my loadouts.
  22. Mp5s look nice, would have been my choice over an MP5K, but as it was donated beggers cant be choosers lol. I want something bigger and more rifle looking than the MP5, its just too similar to my current weapon. I hadnt looked at M14s to be honest, M4s have kind of grabbed me, I will research further
  23. haha... I live nowhere near Harrow, but yes lots and lots of Chinese students up my way. Also been seeing a lot at my Airsoft site too, always have awesome looking shiny new guns.. Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
