    FPS

I've decided just to go with the KWA CQR MOD1, I wanted something a bit different it seems every1 has M4's but the FPS says 330-350 so it seems perfect for me. any advice as to what battery to buy for it, it doesn't come with one.

    FPS

I am going to be obtaining my UKARA in the following weeks and looking to purchase a gun. My local site has a 350fps limit, I have watched some reviews on youtube of the gun I am interested in buying and the chronograph readings shows 370fps. If i buy this gun is there anything i can do to lower the FPS by just 20? My site has a 500fps limit for snipers so if I bought a side arm for the CQB round would I be allowed to use it with 370fps?
  5. I agree, I can understand it for CQB room clearing but some guys always hold it like that looks wrong to me too!
  6. Really good job it looks great
  7. £600 is a lot for a laptop, my desk top was around £600 (I built it myself) and it runs pretty much everything on max graphics
  8. You are allowed to fly electric powered aircraft in public areas such as parks and fields, however petrol and IC engines are not allowed because theyre quite noisy and can be a dangour to the public. Unfortunately all IC/Petrol driven planes need to be flown at a licensed model flying club, you may be able to fly them on privately owned land im not 100% sure on that.
  9. To start find your local flying club, go along to one of their flying days and just watch them fly and ask some questions. buy a trainer aircraft, something like this http://www.rcmodelcentre.co.uk/Black-Horse-Sedona/prod_2718.html You can buy one second hand, even if its a bit tatty them trainer aircraft are nice to fly. You'll need a Radio, http://www.hobbyexpress.com/dx5e_5_channel_transmitter_only_mode_2_1034654_prd1_1034663_prd1.htm I use a DX6 i think, its important to buy a 2.4GHz radio not one of the old antenna ones. You can probably buy all you need for about £150, im not to sure on prices. You will need to fly with an instructor for your first flights before you pass your "A" test, just ask around at your local club for an instructor. Some will do for free some wont, the "A" test is very easy its just flying in a square doing some figure of 8's and landing followed with some safety questions. The trainer I linked used an IC engine, some people prefer to fly electric. You can buy electric trainers aswell, I dont like electric much because theres no noise and after 20mins you have to recharge. Check out this website http://www.bmfa.org/ Its the British model flying association This page is very helpful, basically sums up what i said in more detail http://www.bmfa.org/Info/GettingStarted/GettingStartedinRC/tabid/122/Default.aspx
  10. Basically rich guys bought these jets, came over the field with little flying experience of even prop planes. They flew once crashed, and of course a hard impact + flammable/volatile substances such as propane/Kerosene/butane = explosion + fire because of dry grass. The fire department had to be called multiple times and basically the council got sick of it. Its a shame because the more experienced pilots never had many issues with it. Flying one of the jets is such an amazing experience they can fly at speeds of 200mph, doing a low flyby watching it whizz past its exhilarating. There are some places in the UK that allow it but, the people that run it are nob heads basically.
  11. Its not about if theyre goggles or glasses, its about the lenses. If the lenses have a certain mark (I forget what its called) proving that it is basaltic rated it will be fine for air-soft. I wear glasses because goggles tend to fogg up a bit. Remember you only have one pair of eyes so its important to protect them.
  12. Hey guys, One of my other hobbies is flying scale RC aircraft. Thought I would share with you guys who might be interested some pictures of my old planes / my dads. Unfortunately my flying club banned the use of jet turbines and had to sell them all, the only plane i currently own is the T26. (white one)
  13. Hello, I am a very experienced RC pilot I have a B grade license have been doing it for many years. I have flown a friends rotor copter drone, it has a camera on the front and you wear these glasses that rely the video image into your eyes, like an oculus rift. and you can fly the drone that way its pretty cool. This idea would work if its an open area (no trees) would be literally impossible to fly one in a forested environment even for a very skilled pilot it would just be a hazard. Also these high quality drones cost £1000-2000 and are quite fragile even a stray BB would damage it. You could fly it at high altitudes over the trees, but you cant really see much action from there unless it maybe had a IV camera that would be cool.
  14. Some pictures in game of my gear, using a rental gun still waiting for UKARA
  15. HI mate, I have that exact facemask in a sort of MTP pattern. It works great for me stops BB's and doesnt effect my breathing. Any ballistic grade glasses will stop any airsoft gun even at point blank just make sure theyre the real deal dont buy some Chinese dodgy ones.
  16. I dont really know exactly what I want, I just need somewhere to put my extra mags and other stuff thats MTP
  17. Anyone know of an MTP chest rig that isnt stupidly expensive? (over £100)
  18. Lots of respect for you ex-mil guys
  19. Understood, it just seems a bit shady
  20. Im not 100% clued up on the laws, but some one selling a Realistic Looking Imitation firearm (R.I.F) to a person that does not obtain a UKARA licence Is in fact against the law and especially someone under 18. I have seen people under 18 with RIF's so im not sure of the rules 100%.
  21. Go to your local Army & Navy store and buy some MTP or DMP surplus gear, Its normal around £18 a piece. If you dont have one local you can buy them on Ebay for cheap, I suggest getting good leather boots if youre playing outdoors. If youre under 18 remember you have to buy a two tone gun, personally i wouldnt buy a £250 gun thats has to be two tone because when you are 18 youll want to replace it.
  22. (A bit off topic) 3 guys turned up with ghillies on last weekend when I went airsofting, and by the first game they all took it off because it was too hot and played the rest of the game in their shorts and t-shirt. So I guess before you buy a ghille make sure you can handle the heat this summer
  23. Thanks for your opinions guys, I am going to continue wearing my shooting glasses anyway. I forgot to mention that I also wear a mesh mouth protector anyway so the likelihood of a BB slipping through is minimal. (The owner and most of the marshals at my ground wear the same glasses I have anyway so they must know the risks)
