  1. EPM-1S VN-style shells were the final addition needed to my PTS N23.
  2. Yep. Was given to my boss as a gift for some work they did with Japanese officials quite awhile ago. He gifted it to me. I fit some Colt wood grips to it and its now one of my dozen plus pistols.
  3. Been working on some OPFOR kits. Nothing political meant by any of it of course. Type 21 is just about done (need to custom make one more piece) and I can go with a helmet or BF4 Scout if I want haha. The final pieces for an EMR kit were ordered today, I also have a Downed Airman Vietnam kit in the works, and two or three other Russian/Soviet kits that I think are done as well.
  4. Picked up a N-23 for an upcoming Vietnam kit Ive been working on. This thing is tiny haha. Also printed out a PT-2 for a buddies' PKM. Im debating doing a second one for my PKU but so far I am not convinced its necessary, as my PKU is already so short.
  5. I know some MilSims this side of the pond have dedicated AT classes, that cant use 203s. 203s are anti-personnel only, while the AT role must have an actual launcher and can knock out vehicles. So its neat for that. Otherwise, as said its for the memes as a glorified, heavy 203. *edit: after watching the video it seems *really* heavy. The thuds on the table and the shower huffing when lifting it makes it even less ideal. Still, as Deepfire showed, people love their heavy weapons.
  6. *cracks knuckles* Alright. Safariland marketing and organization sucks. The holster finder doesn't work. Everyone hates it, even us who work with Safariland. That being said, ignore the numbers of the GLS platform. The X denomination is simply for the *mount* that comes with the GLS and doesn't refer to the weapons it fits. You can find GLSs in black, FDE, OD, and WG, left or right handed, in six variations not including the mounting systems. And really these six variations are just two - the GLS and the GLS WF (Wide Frame). The four variations of GLS and two WFs are just different lengths. All pistols that fit one size of GLS or one size of WF will fit the others, but you may have exposed muzzle or extra space in front of the muzzle depending. Now - as to fit. No GLS will fit a torch nor a suppressor wider than the slide of your pistol, while all will fit suppressor-height irons and dots, as long as they aren't too funky. Between the GLS and WF you can fit *every* pistol with a standard frame layout, so no Lugers or things like that. Tiny guns like a PPK or Glock 43 wont fit; nor will massive guns like mk23s or Deagles. Beyond that one of the two will fit pretty much anything you can get your hands on. So when it comes to selecting a GLS there's a few things to look at. First, what guns do you want to fit? G17s, non-railed 226s, M&Ps, and *most* 1911s will fit in the GLS, while railed 226s, FNs, Sig 320s, Berettas, etc. will fit in the WF version. Next, pick a length. If the longest gun your gonna put in is a standard 4.25" G17, M&P9, or 226 then you should get a "Standard Length" model. If you have a 5" Government-model 1911 then you'll want the "Long Length". Glock 19 your longest? The the "Compact Length" is the one for you. Got something really tiny like a G26? Then the "Sub-Compact Length" is the go-to. The WF models just have a Long and Standard. Based on your list above you need up to two GLSs; a GLS Standard Length (or Long Length if your 1911 is a 5") for most of the pistols listed and a GLS Wide Frame Long Length for the M9. Color is up to you but black is by far the most common, with FDE being a close second. WG and OD are hard to find though if you were in the US I could offer you both as we have a small stock. Who knows there may be some floating around the UK. All GLSs are Injection Molded and easy to paint if you so choose, so doing your own work is always an option. The final thing you have to choose is the mount. Now, let me preface this by saying that all GLSs (and the majority of all Safariland holsters) follow the same three-hole pattern, which means every holster (with a few small exceptions) will fit all Safariland mounting systems - a system that is quickly becoming universal. So if you don't like a mount you can switch. My personal favorite mount for all my Safarilands (and I have like 30 different setups for different things) is the AUBL, which is a UBL (Universal Belt Mount) with both vertical adjustment options and canting abilities and the VUBL which just has vertical options. In the UK I ran up to two leg drop kits. Then there are three heights of non-adjustable UBL (though most mounts still have at least 15% of cant allowance built-in), two or three different hip-height belt mounts, paddle mounts, MLS (Molle Locking System) mounts for vests, webbing chest mounts (at least, coming soon if they aren't already out), and probably a few more Im missing. That's really up to you on what you want. I've used all of them for one purpose or another over the years. Without knowing which mount you want I cant say exactly what your three numbers are beyond 57X unfortunately. Now, an add-on. There are actually a few more GLSs that are far less common, and not applicable to your needs at this time. There's a small gun GLS for things like P365s and G43s (though the new Shenandoah holster is far better IMO), there's an IWB (Inside WaistBand) GLS for concealed carry, and I think there's an under the arm version too for small guns. Figured Id mention them in case this becomes the go-to thread for GLS info in the future.
  7. Seriously thinking of turning this MG4 into a MG4a3... Someone talk me outta this...

@Adolf HamsterThere is. VFC made it and its odd. But I am legally required to own one since I run German kits.

  8. Price seems pretty good - Asia price was said to be about $660 USD. STANAG included, box options are sold separately. 88g C02s require the 200rnd box mag and can be used in single or double configurations. Bolt itself is lightweight but appears to give OK recoil. Not Daytona recoil, but more than NGRS. Can use STANAG 12g mags, 100rnd mags, or 200 round C02 mags for gas - the square tank is for GG in the 200rnder. It looks like it will be feasible to HPA it as well. Two barrel lengths, three stock options, four handguards. Theres a mechanism attached to the bolt that rattles the dummy rounds as well. Combined with their new MP5, K2 series, PPKS, and M110a1 coming out (all GBB I believe) theyve got a decent list of things to come next year.
  9. I will complete this gun one day. One day… Coincidentally, if you know anything about the gearboxes of these please let me know as I’d like to upgrade it eventually.
  10. Glad you got it sorted - I have one of these uppers as well but havent actually installed it. I have like 5 AUG uppers.
  11. Oooh very interesting. Might be an angle to approach from. Im not actually sure any parts (at least, not easily-replaceable externals like pins or handguards) are missing; its more "where does this spring go? How deep does the feed tube screw in? Does this part look damaged?" sorta questions I expect to have.
  12. So I have somehow acquired an old Escort MP5. I dont really remember where I bought it from, nor how many years its sat with me, but regardless its old. If you dont know what that is, its basically the precursor to the Daytona system. However if you didn't know that then this post is likely not for you. Now, my issue is it came to me in a non-firing state. It wouldn't feed. It then apparently got messed with by some kid siblings while I was away at uni for a few years, and made the trip to my current location in pieces. Internally I believe everything is still there; its odd things like the handguard pin thats missing. I can deal with that; however Im slowly working through my backlog of projects and I was thinking about trying to get it back up and running. I will be cross-posting this on a few old gun Discords and forums to try to gather as much info about the Escort system as a whole, and of the MP5 in particular. If you have any knowledge of these systems, resources, parts, etc I would greatly appriciate any help I can get. Due to the rarity of these guns I expect this post will be around for awhile; feel free to necro it should you have any info. Spaz
  13. Batteries will come down to stocks and what you want. You can easily fit a single stick-type in the buffer, a nunchuck in a crane stock, a butterfly using a crane with the mid in the buffer, etc. Put a fixed on it and you can use small bricks. Pretty much anything that can fit in an AR-based gun will fit. For drums, I mean sure but why? The Krytac boxes are pretty good, and there are Bullgear inserts if you want more ammo and better feeding. But as Loz said - its an AR lower and as such will fit most AR drums. My preference are the G&P Fast Attack-style Gen 1s - my pair have lasted me over 4 years and are still running. Alternatively the Angel Customs work pretty well and have interchangeable tops that allow them to be used on many different platforms when you buy the particular adapters. The QJB-95 and AUG HBAR have Angel Custom drums (the AUG with an AUG adapter top and the QJB-95 with an offset adapter I designed myself), while the L86 has one of my G&P Fast Attack Drums.
  14. Id go for the A&K mk1 over the SA, and toss a mk2 top on it. Shouldnt be *too* hard to find one. (Yes I know mines a Para)
  15. Well I’ve gotten older and less flexible, but the toys and AOs have improved! Here’s a short video from this past weekend at Guardian Training Center in Perry, GA. https://youtu.be/Q1_NaeEWHk4
  16. Finally broke out the Flecktarn for a MilSim. It worked very well.
  17. My SV-98X is finally complete with the addition of the correct carry handle. Took me two years to find one.
  18. Yep. Still working on getting it right to feed BBs. I originally wanted to do so without any permanent modification to the mag, but it doesnt look like thats an option now.
  19. They pop up secondhand from time to time, though Matrix does do batches every now and again. I think I heard they are in batch production now, though that was a few months back so who knows. I turned mine into a DP-28 haha
  20. Correct, the FiSt2 is a very good system and worth the money, but if the option is getting a single shell and a FiSt2 or two shells and a basic charger to replace later, its certainly an option. The new "kick Charge" rounds use a primer system to fire, which is where the legislation issues would come up - though talking to ASPT he seems to think its a non issue. Heres a video on them:
  21. Yep. Thay guy is the one I was talking about, side note hes a bloody trooper - went to the vendors, got a new set of eyepro, washed the blood off, and was back on the field in a few minutes. Also I believe that was a Paladin (chalk) round that hit him - the arming fuse in the explosive rounds wouldn't have activated in the range they were at. agreed, GG is not good for the mk2s. For those who dont know there is a mk3 round coming out soon that doesnt use gas. theyre really toeing the line between airsoft and firearm with this one, but they claim to have no legal issues. If they get released youre looking at a far more reliable round and delivery system than anything gas based. You also do not need a FiSt2, most C02 fillers will work on the C02 shells - despite their claims.
  22. Many places specify they are to be purely used as an AT/demo weapon only. Shoot a vic, shoot a fort, good to go. I know people who use them in an AI role and while I personally dont like to, honestly at range its fine. Ive been directly hit by them a half dozen times or so and theyre no big deal. The only times they are are the Paladin chalk rounds and at extremely close range. Two guys in vics were shooting them at each other from about 7m and one guy took one to the face. Bit of blood but nothing medically-significant. As with most things I suppose itll be some one-off idiot using them for room-clearing that causes issues.
  23. TK45c Black Cherry here, love the thing. While mine is a bit more upgraded than what comes out the box, it functions great. Id personally avoid the recoil version as its just another thing to break, and like all mechanical systems it *will* break eventually. Nowadays I tend to run LMGs over SMGs so its often a loaner, but when I do go SMG its one of the two AEGs I bring along (my MPX being the other), while my MP7 and PP-91 Kedr are my HPA SMGs of choice.
