My Rifle is having a bit of an identity crisis, inspired by the TM Pro Hunter, And maybe a little from the new Jurassic World trailer

It started all black, then became a bit camo'd

And today has transformed to ...

I stripped all the Camo tape off the scope and sprayed it with some Plastikote Brilliant Metallic chrome effect paint. Its not chrome at all, its very flat, but still retains a metallic look. Unfortunately you cant lacquer it as it turns the paint a dull grey akin to primer.
The barrel and receiver of the gun was blinged up with some Aluminium tape. Its used by builders who need alloy tape for stuff. It only cost £5 for 10m and is pretty good. I got the idea from watching a Tested Video on Youtube, apparently Hollywood prop makers use it to make chrome things. A quick bit of brasso and it can polish up quite shiny, or a quick once over with wire wool gives it a matt stainless steel look.
Its just like tin foil, but thicker and sticky backed. just lay it in an smooth it out. It does wrinkle if not careful and my first attempt Its not perfect when you get close up, but it is non permanent and just peels off.
I'm working on a velcro veil made of a shemagh and scrim to cover it up for when i do want to play stealthily.

What do you think, I like it, but i'm not sure i'm going to keep it forever.

    Would be getting my money.

I have two generic Chinese £16 jobbies that have held up very well over the last year with regular use. I unpicked all the garish pockets and it looks quite subtle.
I personally wouldn't spend £50 on anything viper, let alone a gun bag.

Apparently the SRC Hard cases are pretty robust for casual airsoft use. Millspec solutions had them fairly cheep I think. Or Taiwan gun have them delivered about £40 iirc.

A great tactic i picked up from some real guys is to have a strip of velcro on the torch to attach it onto your helmet. Its easiily accessible, adjustable and pretty secure. If it gets knocked it falls and doesnt rip your lid off, (not so much airsoft but important in real combat) it can also be removed an placed on a PC or in a pocket.

Remeber a torch should rarely be used in a fire fight, it gives your position away and screws up your vison. Keep it only for doing tasks such as objectives, searching, repairing or restocking or treating casualties.

New Maple Lead hop chamber with I Key plus a PDI barrel. Fps has increased and accuracy is excellent now. Fps wise it's gone from 278Fps to 325Fps. For my WE Glock 17 Gen4

Using our own app at the top of the page:

    45m/s = 147.64 fps

    0.86g at 147.64 fps = 0.87 joules

    .2g at 350fps = 1.14 joues.

ESS ICE meet ANSI 787+ (impact rated) and 31013 military standard, which are both much higher spec than 166.f standards.
    (Closer to 166.a)

I recently placed an order for a Jefftron Active break Mosfet from AirsoftSpareParts.com and was very impressed, so here is a quick review.

The guy running it used to hang around here selling vast quantities of parts through the classified, his name is Raffal86. He realised that boneyard guns and second hand spare bits and bobs is a niche that nobody seems to be filling so built a decent website and business around it.

His prices are fairly competitive and what sold me was the postage. £5.50 all the way from Poland, less than most british retailers charge.

I ordered a new Jefftron Active Break Mosfet, many people are selling them now, but what attracted me to AirsoftSpareParts.com was that he was offering to pre wire it, with a fuse, high quality cable, motor connections and new trigger contacts for an additional £11. I hate soldering with a passion so it really is a no-brainer, considering its going to cost close to that to buy all the wiring parts.

I ordered on the 1st March and it arrived on the 12th March, 12 days to be custom built, posted and arrive into England. I am impressed at that. I have had Taiwangun orders take longer and they use UPS.

Pay with paypal, good clear written English communication, and a pretty solid site. I would definitely recommend anyone to shop at AirsoftSpareParts.com and will be returning myself.
I will throw together a Jefftron review of the actual mosfet once its fitted to the gun.

Can you take a picture of the box ???

Reason being I "might" have what I suspect is a vfc box in bits the sector n spur gears have a spring on them
    8mm black bushings etc....

If ya stuck it might be an option but no point if it won't work or totally different.
Think loop is on right side of gearbox shell
But at work so can't check jack $hit atm
But pic would help to see when I get home

AFAIK ALL V2 M4 gearboxes have the loop, there isn't really another sensible way to retain the mag catch/realease.

The VFC 417 gearbox is different and ther receiver holds the catch and it kinda looks M4ey. I'd imagine that's what you're thinking of

depends on the task - ferrite motor low volts = stock guns
once you start putting more juice through or drawing more juice like neodym motor etc - NO

if you can't squeeze in 16awg - turnigy 16awg is quite fat, Eco wire is a bit thinner on 16awg
    or failing that:

    http://www.taiwangun.com/en/silicone-wires/2-meter-wire-with-low-resistance-ipower?from=listing&campaign-id=19

you can get it on fleabay I think if you look around

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/POISONAPPLE-AIRSOFT-SILVER-WIRE-CABLE-2M-UPGRADE-/221991832360?hash=item33afbe8b28:g:hBwAAOSwEK9T0XUX

but 18awg gets quite warm quickly when you start pushing it a bit through gun
well that's my thoughts on the matter

The silver wire is a little bit under 16awg - normally the wire itself on 16awg goes from 1.3mm to 1.5mm aprox
it varies depending on make/type/accurate conversion from imperial to metric
just measure some silver wire I got to hand and seems to be 1.2mm thick

according to component shop on fleabay:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-metres-16AWG-Silicon-Wire-Super-flexible-high-temp-RED-BLACK-BLUE-YELLOW-/230877513949?var=&hash=item35c15f48dd:m:mD68K7bY1o_ExJUrN9ZHNWw

18awg silicone comes out at 0.8mm so it is a deffo improvement that silver wire @ 1.2mm over 18awg wire
and on some gearboxes 16awg silicone with 3.1mm thick insulation can be a bitch to fit on some boxes like G&G v2's

I found some other brand of wire that is a smidge thicker wire but slightly thinner silicone insulation - 2.75mm Vs 3.1mm
but still a bitch to get into G&G's and requires some filing or good ol' dremmel adjustment
