  1. Why is it that I only seem to like a gun once it goes out of fashion and is hard to get hold of?

as with all things it's a balance.

good hardware allows you to leverage skill, it means all that effort getting into the right position, having a good aim etc isn't wasted because the gun doesn't shoot where you point it.

i do agree with his point that you don't need to be spending megabucks on hardware to get a passable level of performance, a cyma with a few key tweaks will do 80% of the job.

I absolutely agree but his main point is that a lot of noobs think the reason they're not hitting things is the gun when 90% of the time it's their lack of skill/awareness.

    4. Adolf Hamster

      Adolf Hamster

true, but it works both ways, you give a skilled player a nerf gun they might still be able to get kills, but nowhere near as many as they could if they had decent hardware. going exclusively down either route can only ever take you so far.

this is ofc if we're taking "skill" as excluding teching skill, as the basic knowledge of say not buying off-brand .12's for playing outdoors could also be regarded as part of skill and experience same as psychology, sneakiness etc.

  6. Anyone else at Red Alert this weekend?

  7. Anyone had any dealings with Mael Eòin Tactical at all? Placed an order 11 weeks ago but they've gone completely quiet on comms.

@DrAlexanderTobacco totally agree , there’s no excuse for poor or none existent comms , no matter how busy you are You can still take a few minutes at the start of the day to send a generic “sorry for the delay” email just to show the customer they haven’t  been forgotten . I once had a TM EBB with a tech guy for near 15mths while he was trying to find a part but every mth around the date I’d sent it to him I’d get the same update of “still looking” but I was happy with that as it showed I wasn’t forgotten  .

  8. Kinda want an AAP-01 just so I can get this conversion kit: https://shop.jkarmy.com/c-c-mak-style-slide-set-for-aap01-gbbp-type-1-aap-01.html

      shame that it's 3d printed.

I'm staying away from printed kits, after seeing bent mk23 carbines because they've been left in a car trunk.

Small parts are ok, but whole bodies? no thanks.

I just bought one from PB for 75quid - was too good to resist - just hoping the delivery on Friday arrives after wife goes to work and not before :D

at the risk of getting into a row....

The tiger stripe as I see it is not VCRA compliant

it is more of a bending of the rule that some attempted to do

to make their two tone more appealing/sell-able/profitable

(it is flouting/breaching the VCRA for marketing purposes imho)

But I may not be 101% correct

I'll ask Mrs Duck - she is ALWAYS RIGHT

200% invalid, I love the irony of that statement.

All my statements on this site are ill informed, but I post them anyway because I'm too stupid too recognise my own stupidity

    4. Sitting Duck

      Sitting Duck

200% invalid = the OP that posted the dumb statement

plus one of his allies, both stating your argument is invalid

ergo 200% invalid, or 300%+ if more sheep join the flock/group

Me - I'm just a fucking idiot just like they say...

but if they are losing to a fucking idiot, what does that make them

ahhh but then they quote the classic quote:

Don't Argue with an Idiot Wisdom Quotes & Stories

to which the response I might use:

and you STILL engaged in argument after knowing this ???

(just how fucking stupid you must be to still engage after knowing this)

Ahh Ahh but you are still arguing...

I've already admitted I'm an idiot - did you not see what I wrote

(are you blind as well as dumb)

personally with regards to SM bickering the more accurate quote is:

Never argue with an idiot. People watching won't be able to tell ...

I got kicked off FB ages ago

it is amazing that remaining calm & civil actually infuriates people much more than calling them the c*nt you really wish to

think I've mellowed - nah just getting older (and more stupid) by the day

in this mad world of ours & lets face it 2020 is fucking mental so far

let's try to remain a little calm if possible before it really kicks off

We are in June atm, the first 5 months has been a bit of a horror show

not trying to scare you but....

      That moment you realise the next 5 months spell J A S O N meme ...

  10. The joys of importing - last week I received a small package from Violent Little Machine Shop in the US, just a few patches value £20. I get stung for £5 VAT and the usual £8 Royal Mail buttfuck. Today I get $82 worth of helmet cover from Agilite in Israel and nothing. No VAT, no duty no nothing. Both had CN22s attached with the correct value (no "gift" or comedy low value). What the actual fuck?

I've always enjoyed the conversation with Royal Mail when you point out that you are paying more in VAT and their fees than the package cost.....

It's still cheaper to ship to UK destinations from Beijing than from Bath though.

a little "souvenir" from Poole can't hurt either

      (if the price is right)

they do have the odd offer on now & then

heck even JBBG had some 9mm blanks at a good price

      (before I switched to the 6mm 209 cheditte thingy's)

So on that basis - have a butcher's, grab a bargain if you see one

I would, tell yourself you are helping UK businesses

(that excuse doesn't quite excuse buying from JambWow though - my bad)

      have a good meeting & a looksie

  14. Awesome day at F&O The Base CQC yesterday! Got wet, realised my boots are NOT waterproof but was a good little site with a great bunch of guys! Highly recommend it!

Pretty good actually. COuple of over complicated games but decent enough little site.

I'll try and bang in a short review later.

    3. Jedi_Master

      Jedi_Master

Great, the more reviews we get then the better informed the community will be about where to play.  Plus more reviews mean different perspective of a site both good and bad.  Was it a good day out?

    4. Lozart

      Lozart

Yeah, pretty much. Usual bulletproof numpties but generally a good day out. Semi only all day so no support weapon opportunities (which is a shame because we could have done with one!) but yeah, I'll go back.

  16. Anyone else here going to Longmoor on Sunday?

Nothing from the site. It was rumoured to be closing the end of year and their bookings all end in December and so do the Zombie events which they normally have up for months in advance. I know the development side is up the air though so maybe they will be ok for a bit longer . I am just erring on the side of caution.

    3. Lozart

      Lozart

I spoke to Luke this morning. He just hasn't put dates for next year in the diary yet. No plans to close.

    4. ImTriggerHappy

      ImTriggerHappy

Well thats a good thing but I would still play it by ear. Epsom didn't announce they were closing until the last second and I should imagine it will be the same for the mall. There is a lot of pushing to get that development going. It would be nice if they can get another year though.

  17. So having whinged like a stuck pig at The Mall for having no pyro last Sunday, I just found half a carrier bag full of MK5s. FML.

Only bearing piston heads come apart it seems, either loads of thread glue, spring washer, nylon locking nut, or add a thin neoprene washer behind piston to act as a spring washer to stop that mofo coming apart.
