WorcesterAirsoftRegiment1 reacted to Samurai in SRC MP5A4 internal upgrades help
A good cleaning, a new hopup rubber and a new O ring for the piston. Check the gears and the piston for obvious wear. Get new ones only if needed. Check the nozzle if it can wobble on the piston head, get new one if it does. Get SRC parts if you can.
If it still doesn't do the 330 fps at least, get a new spring too.

So this is my SAS CQB-style loadout so far - I'm trying to get hold of a Nomex III Assault Suit though. However I don't think I'll buy the proper assault vest because its so expensive!
Please excuse the WW2 army truck that just happened to be at my house... It does not fit with the time period at all!
The rifle is an SRC MP5A4, with two torches and a laser mounted to the bottom, and a red dot sight mounted at the top. That thing stuck to the side is for a GoPro camera.
My sidearm is the CYMA Glock18c, with a ~100 round magazine.
And I'm wearing my recently acquired "Avon 1989" S-10 Respirator!

No he can't. Neither could I with that style of drop leg, which is why I made the extra straps I wear on mine:
The one that goes under my crotch has a loop of 50mm elastic around it for the leg strap to fit through which stops it from slipping down and going loose. I realise that it looks uncomfy being tight around my nads, but it isn't. It's just a case of hitching it all to the side before tightening, then it drops back into place just fine...
I haven't got around to making one for my black kit yet, but I think I may have a bit of 20mm webbing lurking somewhere so I will. I was thinking of selling them, if anybody is interested, but TBH I don't think I could charge what my time is worth to me, so I'd have to keep the numbers down

your holster looks a little flappy. can you not tighten it to your leg more?

Weeeeeellllllllll... S10's are sweaty bastards certainly, but let's have it right, the way that the air circulates inside them with each breath, as it is designed to, stops the lenses from fogging much / at all. Who knows if that will still work properly if you mess with it?
I haven't got around to it yet, but I definitely intend to take the innards out of a filter for mine sometime. Breathing through a proper filter takes some practice when you're running about - deep and steady gets you more oxygen than trying to gasp.
I had a look for my receipt for ballistic replacement lenses, so i could pass on the seller to you, but unfortunately it's another victim of early onset dementia, otherwise known as i couldn't fcuking remember where i've left my arse if i didn't have to wipe it periodically...

Just acquired an S-10 Respirator (needs the lenses converting to airsoft friendly lenses), but my SAS-style loadout is coming along now!

I think it was Mike I was talking to about plastic machete's. Anywho, that gave me the idea. It cost £3.99 inc P&P from fleabay and comes with an all shiny silver 'blade', unlike the photo in the listing. That would never do so I taped off the 'edge' and sprayed the blade black. I then removed the tape to see how it looked, decided it looked far too pristine and distressed it. I then sprayed it with Clear Coat, like a pillock forgetting what this would do to the shiny edge - I then had to take the varnish off the edge with thinners, which has taken a bit of silver with it ho hum...
I also wrapped the hilt in the trad Japanese manner, using an extra long bootlace I had knocking about. Not too bad looking I think. Then I needed a sheath. It's surprisingly difficult to find them for reasonable money, so I made my own. I started with two sparkling water bottles and shaped them around a couple of bits of wood by pouring boiling water onto them:
I then sewed a DPM cover for it and glued it in place:
The webbing straps are stitched to the cover and form a belt loop with velcro. It's designed to be carried on a shoulder strap, as above, or looped over the inside of a PLCE belt like this:

I did that to someone at a night game once, it was too dark to tell what team he was on and I'd just knowingly walked right into the enemy base and not been shot.
So I started wondering if all the guys walking around were actually on my team and we'd all just swapped positions somehow. Enemy out there, friendly in the base.
So I had to make this guy give up his team colours without making it obvious which side I was on. Took me about 5 minutes to get him to do it, and then I just melee killed him haha. It was one of my finest ever airsoft moments. Sucks it was a night game or I'd have had it on camera.
