  1. G&G CM16 Raider. They are great guns.

I would link you one right now, but my university blocks literally everywhere because they think that they are "weapons dealers"...

Edit: Remembered that I can link to ASW. These are amazing, and great value for money. My younger brother has had his for almost a year now. No issues with it at all. G&G GC16 MOD0

  2. No sites play on a Saturday up North then?

Nah. In Scotland, Sunday is designated airsoft day. :P

Be forewarned, Fridays at The Fortress can be hectic. Games are often not those which you may play on traditional airsoft day. Modes such as "Trouble In Terrorist Town" are often played. It's a lot of fun, but is far slower paced than what you're probably used to.

The Fortress also have a strict full-seal eyewear rule- just because it's CQB, and you can never be too sure. If you go there, bring a torch. There's one room that is literally impossible to pass without one. Pistols are also a must.

  3. Yes it is under new management now. Don't know if you're accusing the regulars of cheating but if you're I haven't noticed any.

I'm not accusing them of cheating at that site in particular but I have been informed- by a very reliable source- that a lot of players who play there are banned from other local sites.

  4. local cqb does tuesday night games

I take it this is (the company formerly known as) One Shot? I'm pretty sure that a LOT of their regular players are those who are banned from the Airsoft World sites (Fort sites).

In response to the original question, The Fort is a brilliant site if you are after a nice, friendly outside gameday (just hope it doesn't rain!). They run one game every two weeks, on Sundays. Kick off at 10am, ends at between 4pm and 5pm.

The Fortress is The Fort's indoor CQB arena. I tend to play here a lot, and can vouche that it is genuinely amazing. They run the other weekend (same time as The Fort), and every Friday nights from 6 until 11.

If you want a MIX of CQB and outdoor gaming, give Fife Wargames a try. They are out near St. Andrews, about 45minutes or so drive from The Fort sites. One of my friends marshals there. It's a lot of fun, but there are frequently far fewer players than at The Fort and The Fortress. On winter, I turned up to 10 players on site. Ended up going to The Fortress instead.

  5.

Have a G&G cm16 which i'm thinking of selling then getting a s&t tavor so will always have an aeg ready.

So what do you guys do to test if your pistol's going to be useable in the current temperature ? (was thinking to ask a Marshall to take me outside so i can have a wee test, probably an easier way I've managed to ignore)

Keep the G&G. The S&T TAR is not very good- source: Team-mate used to have one. Gearbox is crap, and body feels cheap.

I just try to using the pistol. I usually use it if it can hold a full mags worth. But I won't use below about 5 degrees.

  6. I often run 2 pistols when I'm in CQB (and sometimes outdoors too...)

it is a lot of fun. But never run both at the same time. One pistol, then change gun when a mag runs out, giving me the time to get clear of the fight to change mag.

but yeah, it can be great. I would ALWAYS recommend a rifle as well, but pistols are really nice.

TL:DR- Buy a rifle, but two pistols can be great fun

  7. Wolf Armouries seems to suffer from what a lot of small businesses do - relative website syndrome. I.e. get your son or uncle to build your website for you and do an incredibly poor job of it.

    Agreed.

  8. A few months ago, Someone was using low quality BBs (Bulldogs, if I remember correctly). One shattered and went right through my full head mask. Fucked up my forehead really badly for a few days. I was shocked and a bit scared at how close I was to losing an eye.
