  1. I tried some fog resistant coating that is usually used on car windscreens (liquid form). It seems to work pretty well. I think it's best not to touch the applied surface even after it drys, in case the coating gets rubbed off.
  2. If only someone where to literally torture test Nov's airsoft gun to the point it would need maintenance (maybe mix a bit of sand with the bbs so the hop rubber gets shredded) then send it to Negative Airsoft! But at that price I doubt anyone (who's not a fan boy) will be willing to buy it. Luke is a funny guy! I like his American accent and Solid Snake (Metal Gear Solid) voice! 😆
  3. I hear he is doing research in this for his next BB: 😅
  4. I know it was probably a joke! 🤦‍♂️ But I'd put them in a separate pouch so you can inspect them with a magnifying glass to search for any scuffs, because it can wear down your hop rubber!
  5. Not an AK owner but this looks very interesting!
  6. I use an atlas (clone) bipod on my air rifles and they conveniently fold away. I don't see why you can't use it in airsoft. They can fold any number of ways and even be used as a grip if needed. I'd cover the legs in something insulating to keep hands warm and give better grip.
  7. I get nervous about the sphincter flap. I keep thinking that it will deflect the BB. I think I saw a guy on YouTube using it on a rimfire rifle. It seemed quite effective on it but I thought that was only due to much higher pressures. What if we had an AEG where every time we shoot in semi auto, the sound of bird noises is played for example the sound of a crow cawing. That way It would mask the sound of the gearbox. 😆🤣
  8. I think I'll make baffles no less than 7.5 mm's so that it has some clearance. On my PDW it doesn't seem to be interfering with the bb's.
  9. So it's best to not bother on an AEG unless I do the modifications Skara suggests. And from what I've gathered from Roger. Not all guns are made equal when it comes to barrels being true to the silencer mounts. I guess it boils down to testing and then fine tuning. Thanks for clearing it up! 😄👍
  10. I thought as much with the GBB pistols and AEG's but maybe DMR's and bolt action rifles could be a bit louder as they generally shoot a bit hotter than AEG's and a guy in a ghillie would benefit with that added concealment. My mk23 is quiet but I like a bit of a challenge to quieten it as much as possible. I ended up turning an aluminium insert with a 7.5mm hole in the muzzle, on the lathe but now that I've done it I'm wondering was it worth it?
  11. How effective are they from the targets perspective? The reason I ask is that I noticed that the hole on the muzzle end of the silencers I've seen are larger than it needs to be (realism aside). Coming from an air rifle shooting background, the smaller the hole on the muzzle end the better. From what it looks like on two of mine they are about 10 mm in diameter. That's 2 mm of space around the bb that could let some sound through especially in full-auto!
  12. I'd get myself some callipers if I was you. Comes in very handy for all kinds of things.
  13. I've been doing archery for 2 years and airgun shooting for 7 years. I apply the same rules of public exposure (null). Like with all shooting related hobbies everyone dreads to hear the news of some idiot being stupid and ruining it for everyone else, fearing that we would lose the right to enjoy the sport.
  14. What are the rulings for using camo wrap on 2 tone guns? Having a mid range two tone aeg that I'm likely to upgrade. I assume that since it's not a semi-permanent alteration it's allowed? I have 3 pre UKARA pistols. Do they need painting or proof of purchase when taking it to the field?
  15. I'm looking to join a club (AWA Herts once it opens up). I purchased the King Arms PDW (MP5 mag variant). Because its compact and the MP5 mags take up around half the space as a M4/AR15 mag. It has a 2.5-10x40 scope attached. A PTK clone (I think) made by FAB Defence, backup iron sights on the side for cqc (pistol range) rail covers and a modified silencer (still experimenting with 3d printed baffles). Being a DIY/improv type of guy I used carabiners for the sling points. I don't know why but I kind of like the blue on this...
