  2. Well…. It’s this time again… So, some of you may have seen my previous posts in the past about the alpha and beta test. Well, now, here is another one: the MOSQUITO open beta test. This is the third iteration of the MOSQUITO which is an open-source, modular, 3D-printed airsoft kit designed to take a V3 gearbox and hop-up chamber from a TM-based AK platform and turn them into a pure menacing machine on the airsoft battlefield, being super compact and lightweight with the same fire power as any other gun. Capable as both a primary weapon or as a sidearm backup. Able to be HPA'd as well. The first iteration was very basic and did what was necessary: The second iteration refined a lot of the functions and aesthetics: This third iteration completely overhauls the design and enhances the printability of the model: It now has beautiful and durable textured sides on many of the parts, a reworked and more reliable magazine catch, a completely reworked and ingenious battery grip solution, and many more changes. But primarily, the MOSQUITO is now open-source meaning you can make one too! It has been designed to be as easy to print as possible. The main features of the MOSQUITO: Compact - measuring only 590mm unfolded and 383mm folded Lightweight - weighing only around 1.5kg when fully assembled (AEG form) Modular - easily swap parts out with a few pins (more to come in the future) Clever battery grip solution - a small gun doesn't have to mean a small battery Never fear for spare parts - open-source allows parts to be forever available What will you need to make it work? V3 gearbox (TM AK based) Complete AK hop-up chamber (inc barrel and bucking) Stick type battery (max length 112mm, width 21mm, height 19mm) MP5 magazines (CYMA for best compatability) If you are after a tiny platform that packs a huge punch, this is it. Woah there, single file please. So, how to participate in the open beta test? You can purchase a kit from me which includes everything (send me a message). Or, if you have your own 3D printer, you can download the 3D files and have a go at printing it yourself. Or, you can ask someone to make one for you. If you decide to make one yourself, you will have to source the screws and components yourself. Most are common parts and can be found in online stores. I have made a guide for both 3D printing and assembly instructions which list the parts required and they can be found at the bottom of the both Printables and GitHub pages. If you decide to partake in the test, I'd highly consider joining the HYBRID AIRSOFT discord server to provide feedback and discuss the kit. The test will run from now to some time in June. No final date yet. 3. No. There's a review out there with pictures in french where the internals are not m24 compatible as they said. It's a 45 degree proprietary firing system. It looks cool af and I still want one. But for practicality, best avoid unless you can make custom parts yourself.
  4. The as03 fixes that. But then it introduces another problem of porting the cylinder so that your output is thoroughly fixed at 1.5j ish. Can be fixed with tape but it's ugly. Even if you fix that, the bolt pull is still the most unwieldly thing ever.
  5. Yep. I've been getting messages from things I've posted in 2018. Sales posts need a "posted date".
  6. This sounds like "I want an ssg10 but I don't want to openly admit to it".
  7. If you one M4, you kinda have them all... But, it just depends what each one means to you.
  8. I had that exact one, was pretty solid out of the box. The only caveat is the trigger pull is heavier than normal because the trigger spring is quite tough.
  9. You can email KJW directly and they can give you a quote to send directly from their factory. However, I've been trying to get parts for my cz75 and the last time I emailed kjw, they were not shipping to the UK, so you might be just out of luck unless you buy a new one unfortunately.
  10. I'd still recommend the m4 just because there are waaaaay more parts for an m4 than there are for mp5. V3 parts seem to be more scarce these days.
  11. Any metal gearbox m4 tbh. Most are under 100, with Cyma probs the cheapest at 80 ish
  12. Apparently it based on the airsoft masterpiece, and has steel internals and full frame like the advanced frame. Better be worth it. I'm watching it too. They seem to have also made a second prs korth-like gun with the same internals. The ble vulture it was called.
  13. Highly doubt it is vsr compatible. The travel on that pull looks extremely short, even shorter than the striker I think. Looks nice but probably only good for reenactments sadly.
  14. If you check the cylinder, there is a tear drop shaped hole which limits the power to about 1.3J in my case when I had the as03. If you patch that up with some tape, you should get a great increase in power. Although, 0.13J before even patching the hole up is a bit concerning. Mine was around 1J.
  15. https://www.fire-support.co.uk/category/valve-keys/ You mean one of these?
  16. I've had them in for months and have not had a problem. Does depend on the brand though. Kjw mags are quite reliable and havent had the seals fails me after all these years. Kwc though... A few have failed a few days in.
  17. 25 to 30 rps I feel is the limit without being an arse. As soon as you stop hearing the individual shots and becomes a constant noise (around 35-40), that's when it begins to get arseholey.
  18. For co2 in winter, depends on gun and if it slide is light (like kjw cz75). But for most co2 pistos (1911s tbh) you can at the very least get half a mag off with good power (tested in -2c weather before). Green gas no bueno unless it's a tm. For me, getting a few shots off in winter is worth the trade offs compared to adolf saying he's rather have GG and not use it at all.
  19. It's incredible how people have used this exact video in presentations and now the "whirl valve" has assimilated into common knowledge when it is just a gimmick from G&G, the guys that have been historically known to make dog poo poo pistols.
  20. It's defo a bit whiny but tbh no one will really care and I would personally keep it like that (partially because it's a nuprol). In all my years airsoft, the only gearbox that has failed me outright was a nuprol m4 gearbox. The teeth on the gears just exploded. And, other gearboxes did not fit into the gun without modification due to some metal tabs getting in the way. I remember they also have microswitches which also makes it non standard. By far the worst m4 I ever had.
  21. Hm i'm having a weird problem where I cannot access the forum through the browser as it keepa going "IP address cannot be found". But if I go through my email and click to see and inbox message, it loads fine. Any ideas?

I'm guessing the owners changed it from .co.uk to .uk last couple of days as it was listed as .co.uk in my favourites.  The old .co.uk is now completely deaded... ahh the joys of domain renewal and change

Funnily enough I can’t access the forum through the free BT wi-fi in work but no problem on mobile data . We used to have sky cloud and no problem but BT ? Nope not having it ! 🤬

  22. I have the raider 2.0 and it is really light at just under 2kg without a mag. The firehawk should be good too if you want shorter. I personally can't advocate for augs since I hate the balance of bullpups (I prefer pulling the weight up from the front). Ares and Specna are OK, but G&G have by far the best reputation of them all for low cost and good performance.
  23. Try northwestcerakote. Smaller scale one man band (i think) and I got my cz75 done there and it was pretty good and fast.
