  1. Thats so cool. Where did you get the helmet? I am making one at the moment. When I get the chance I'll upload a photo

I'll pm you the guys email, a mesh visor and some of the inner lining was finished up by Heroshark.

  2. In that case, Planet replicas do a licenced Judges Baton (it's out of stock at the moment) which is more akin to the comic version in that it's not an extending baton.

If you're intending to wear the costume out to events like MCM or LFCC you need to check the rules on weapons. If you have an extanding baton chances are it'll be metal so it'll be banned. Fixed batons need to be soft and/or flexible too (hence the PR one has a plastic core sleeved with closed cell foam).

Not really that interested in cosplay, it's a skirmish loadout primarily, I think I might have found someone who uses a carbon core which breaks into 3 pieces if hitting someone with any force, but no guarantee that it'll see the light of day though.

  3. I'm putting the final parts together on my DREDD loadout and desperately need something that is like a collapsible baton used by the police, I've been using a lightsaber which doesn't feel/look right. It needs to extend to about 50cm and collapse to a minimum of 10cm. Price isn't really an issue, but I am desperate.

  4. I reckon those breachers will sell like hot cakes. Reckon the m870s might get a lot cheaper as to be honest why would you want one when you can have a breacher?

I don't think I've been this eager for a product release since the Nintendo64

You do know that they have made a stock tube gas tank?

I know that somebody else also made (a slightly better version) but I can't remember who.

  5. my friend had a car that broke down once, don't buy a car, get a van instead.

Forget the van, get a pick up truck, more space to work with everything, and like an Armalite in terms of customiseability.

But don't get the black one.

  6. Acrylic will not work, used 2mm in my DREDD helmet and had a piece I tested on, 280fps cracked it quite thoroughly, did not go through but I don't think it would've survived a second shot.

  7. Unfortunately it depends on situation, Got one for my DREDD loadout and decided to bring it along to a skirmish, while my pistol was going it was a simple if you get shot your out and you drop the shield for whoever comes along.

And then my pistol packed up so it was allowed for me to keep hold of it the whole as long as I used my "daystick", great fun for everyone, me included, quite proud when I was able to get 5 of them in a row (see below)

It is really a case of how they are used, can be great fun, but if there are no flanking opportunities or capable of overcoming, it can suck big time.

  8. The rifle that the Afghans give Konstantin in the scene at the end of The Beast. It's sorta like this:

    203297_large.jpg

    ...but more decorated.

It would have to be gas, because adding a cocking lever would spoil the lines and even if you could invent a cocking system that worked by cocking the flint hammer, it'd be a real ballache even with a 120 spring (which i reckon is the strongest an 800-ish-mm barrel could take without going over 500FPS).

It's called a jezail, my father was gifted one out in Saudi, more of a decorative sniper than anything else, and the metal work tended to be of a very low quality. Ruddy murderous in the right hands though.

  9. Happy that scene is about the fact his trigger safety (ie not putting his finger on the trigger unless he's shooting) is better than the guns safety so actually proves the other point that your finger isn't your safety as you're not safe by holding the trigger like that ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the M4 cannot be put on safety unless there's a round chambered, so there's a chance that there is no point to that part of the film whatsoever.

  10. This is am awkward subject... It's like asking what's the best way to get hit in the nuts

There is no right answer... Any option is not good

While wearing a cup, that's the best way lol.

Back on subject, tiger stripes aren't allowed as the secondary colour has to be a block of colour, and I've always found that the blues work quite quite well, and as am added bonus most training weapons for the military/police tend to be in blue.

  11. Tuesday, component-shop stuff to keep the electric guns ticking over. They do an extremely good deal on a set of kit for soldering.

Just waiting on a couple more combat shirts from UR-Tac.

just to warn you that the actual soldering iron is of low quality, and has great difficulty heating the solder to an appropriate temperature, the rest of the kit is pretty decent.
