In terms of build it’s really nice. Kick is decent considering the weight of the thing. It looks to have the same long contact patch bucking as the VFC M40A5 inside. With regards to performance, I’ll do a review of it once I sort out the scope situation. Then it’ll be upgraded Correct

Absolute best bang for buck.. JG g36c. Bought one from TaiwanGun for £90 and put a maple leaf rubber in it. Shoots as far as 90% of airsoft guns in its fps range. Plastic is cheap looking but it’s more than durable enough. Decently light and compact. For £100 or less you’re not getting better. best gun for £150.. ICS sports line m4 models. Internals are mostly the same as the metal bodied prolines. They’re very nicely made and the split gearbox is a fantastic idea; especially for a new player. If a piston does eventually strip its a much less daunting process of replacing it or changing a spring for a new player who doesn’t want to completely open a gearbox. Again, throw a decent hop rubber inside it and it’s shooting better than most things you’ll come across. if an m4 isn’t your thing, a CYMA AK is a good alternative for the money. £150-200 £200 plus then I’d be looking at the fancier, metal bodied ICS guns that go from £175-£450 depending on features. or if an m4 isn’t your thing an LCT AK wouldn’t touch a G&G or an Ares if you paid me. I’ve previously had 2 g&g and both didn’t feed properly. Not not cheap combat machines either. Their UMP and something else I can’t remember. Ares are made out of kinder egg..

It’s a wankers tool. Semi is semi, and you can fire virtually any airsoft gun more than quick enough in semi. With a binary trigger you’re firing a minimum of 2 rounds. So can I use a KWA vector 2 round burst? If I can use that why can’t I use a we mp5 with 3 round burst? you only need one BB to hit someone to ‘kill’ them. If you miss with 50 you’ve wasted 50 and you’re shit. If you hit with all fifty then you’re a cunt.

Despite my best efforts, google has let me down. Does anyone know where I can get hold of a Gen 1 viridian X5L pistol weapon light/laser? Or it’s airsoft clone made by big dragon I believe. Or maybe one of you have one for sale? I’ve searched high and low for one of these and a detonator threaded barrel for a usp and it’s just not going well 😂

I swapped a magnesium bodied, systema internalled PSG-1 for a KWA vector listening to people go on about how amazing they are. It is utterly shite and one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made. Wouldn’t have one given to me.

Before I go track one down on the interwebz... does anyone have the brass collar from the end of the outer barrel they’re willing to part with? Or even a complete 10.5 barrel?

Mws is king. Having owned most gas guns, including 5 ghk’s, nothing compares to the reliability and OOTB skirmishability of the mws. Like people have said though, by the time you’ve bought mags etc you’re £500 at least. Ghk are priced the same but mags are even more expensive. Also, despite what fanboys will tell you, their quality control of late has been nothing short of dreadful. Trigger feel is nicer than the mws though and co2 is a bonus. mp9 I owned and never got on with. It’s got a truly impressive ROF and it sounds great, but like every other KWA product I’ve owned it’s been crap. for sub £350 I’d recommend the WE g36c. Cheap to buy, gas efficient and great kick. All they really need is a barrel and bucking. Mags are on the cheaper end of the spectrum. Trigger boxes aren’t the best, but stock replacement parts are cheap and plentiful. As said above mags are a bit chunky so slick Kydex insert pouches are a no go. general rules for gbbr: mws is king ghk if you want an AK (for now) don’t buy anything WE if it has an m4 mag dont buy anything KWA in general.

We had something similar at an old site called sou kula. The day was normal skirmish rules. Semi indoors and just generally being respectful. Then the last game was an opt in one where you were put inside a large room (about 50ft by 50ft) with walls and barricades. Absolutely anything went other than there was a rope running down the centre that you couldn’t cross, so you always stayed on your own side. Smoke grenades and full auto gbbrs with tracers indoors. It was amazing.

@RMDavis my mags do that very rarely. In the field I usually just find a thin but sturdy stick and push down on the second BB to free it because I’m an animal (or an Allen key if I’m feeling posh) cleaning it out with isopropyl and a cotton bud when I get home usually fixes it for months

I just don’t get why you need to spend so much to get a good shooting rifle. As a ‘sniper’ I’d be expecting him to be selling an AEG aimed at good range and accuracy, not gimmicks. all most guns need to be at to top end of ‘performance’ is volume matching+ good hop/Bb combo. ive got a JG g36c sat gathering dust that my brother used to use. Cost £90 from Taiwangun. Fitted a maple leaf rubber and gave the barrel a clean and it would shoot better than a standard NGRS. Is it Gucci? No. But it does what you want from an airsoft gun. Shoots better than the guy shooting back. if I was gonna build a ‘high performance gun’ of that sort of budget it would be ICS based and modular.

Never tried them personally but a lad at our site runs one in his MTR and they are nowhere near as efficient as the standard ones. Look cool though.

Once you go Gas, you never go back... providing you buy a good one they will run indefinitely with very little maintenance. Me and 2 other mates ran out mws’ at dagger woods last Saturday. I ran a RS buffer and buffer spring and it full auto mag dumped happily and locked back. My mates FPS deviation at chrono was .8fps over the 9 shots. Not 8... 0.8. They make consistent 65m shots with just a nub and some heavy bbs at the stock 312fps Run them on propane, clean the barrel every now and then as you should with all airsoft guns, and spray it with a bit of lube on occasion. Takes 5 mins to completely clean and service, compared to an AEG which is a ball ache. The ONLY factor these days with the quality and efficiency the good GBBR’s are offering, is if the user can manage with 30ish round mags.
