  1. I bought one of these for the rare occasion I play CQB.
Full face protection, strong lenses and comes with both integral lights for dark areas (Enough to read by or for viewing things a couple of feet away at least) and a 2-speed fan to help prevent fogging.

They can also fit glasses under without problems (depending on your glasses size, obviously).

Played a full day indoors without trouble, so certainly worth a look for the low price!

  2. As I am newbie I've had a question that I've been looking for a answer for, I might be sounding a little dumb here but can someone tell me in leymans terms what a "Hop up" is?

It's a little rubber sleeve & nub that pushes down on the BB to give it 'backspin' to help increase range.

  3. I've just found rifleworks and they look like a good friendly site, might give them a try on the 26th. I've looked at nsc too but I think rifleworks will be my first port of call. http://www.rifleworksairsoft.co.uk/prices-booking

Hope we bump into each other a some time dude, would be good to learn the ropes with another noob.

I've watched loads of vids too, been trawling the forum too, trying to soak up the info and buying odd and sods here and there so I'm feeling much more confident about what it's all about now. Just ask loads of questions and everyone will offer loads of advice on here

They're not running on the 26th fella; they're open this Sunday, which I'm off to & then fortnightly.

  4. Yeah, there's a few around here of varying quality. You have Rifleworks, Nsc, Ntac, No Limits in Gateshead and Northern Alliance down past Northallerton, and more a bit further south.

There's also Stirling that run weekend events at catterick too!

  5. Hi there fella & welcome

I'm from Teesside too; over in Hartlepool. :)

Depending where you are, you're welcome to grab a lift; I play at Rifleworks in Consett & Khe sahn at Otley.

I'm actually off to RW this Sunday, so hit me up if interested!

  6. The G-spec comes with a rail for mounting scopes on, whilst the basic version has iron sights. The Standard one also has a longer barrel, whereas the G-spec has a shorter barrel & suppressor.

There's not much in it, as you can replace the irons on the basic with a rail, or get a replacement muzzle on the G-spec to install a longer barrel and/or different suppressor etc.

    **Beaten to it by Prof!

  7. I bought both a core & a zci barrel from Ak2M4 when they had them in stock (6.03 & 6.02 respectively).

The core worked really well originally, not actually far off my Prometheus 6.03 (up until the gearbox started playing up) whilst the zci was decent, but when put side by side with the Prom was a bit lacking.

(Note; all AK length barrels, used with G&G .28 ammo and G&G green buckings).

At present I have two AKs with Prometheus barrels (one G3 length though) and one with the Core.

The zci is in a drawer until I scrounge up enough parts to build the rest of this other AK.

  8. That could also work; providing you have somewhere to shoot. However I didn't have anywhere to fire the pistol except on site; by which time it would have been too late. :(

I think it's just down to WEs quality control. Some will come through fine, others are sadly lacking.

  9. I had the same with my WE 226.

The bucking's likely a stiff one, so it can't apply enough hop.

Replace it with a softer one & it should help somewhat.

  10. There was Lightfighter in Sheffield about ten years ago that was an old industrial complex with lots of buildings & outdoor areas.

One of the best sites I've ever been to.

There's more out there still running, but nothing as good as that one.

Also; you've posted this topic three times.

  11. Discovered it through GunMart back in 1997 when they still had an airsoft section, and started off with a few schoolmates on a friend's farmland.

Soon after, I discovered X-ring & airsoft.org then venturing out to one of the few sites that existed nearby at that time.

Joined a team down in Sheffield a few years later & eventually here I am now...wondering if it's all still worth it!
