My airsoft only loads when there's no mag
JinxDuh replied to Oli_Bacon's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
It’s a springer. The slide tends to open up when pulled back due to the sheer super high quality of the Chinese makers. To be honest, count your losses and bin it. Get something decent that isn’t a springer if you can. -
Anything WE, Kyairsoft is the place to go. RA-Tech has a lot of hype however there’s a lot of horror stories of bad QC, tolerance differences messing up. Personally I haven’t bought any RA-Tech parts based on the poor feedback I’ve seen though. In terms of longevity, my WE G36 is my most used GBBR being fielded pretty much all summer for the past few summers and the internals are all holding up well!

My local charges £40 for the box to be opened, any work inside said box carried out, a generalised service and reassemble/test. Parts are down to the person to provide, which is fair enough. Other services like hop up changing etc is £10 - £20. Most places tend to be per hour though, from my experience.

What have you just 3d printed (for airsoft)
JinxDuh replied to sp00n's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Not 3d printed yet Working on an airsoft SA80 BFA, it’s very rough currently but hoping to get it working asap -
Awesome. Well, not really… but at least I have a lead! 😂 Thank you so much guys for the help!!!

It's with the mag lifted, yes. Yeah, it'll dry fire like it's cycling. I did also note that on empty it wouldn't lock back (It does on my m16), not sure if the L85 is designed to do so? Before the tape, yeah it had some play in every direction. Now it's solid 😂

Mag catch seems okay in person, sadly I don’t have another to test. I did notice a scuff mark on the BB’s, like a small black line which is the same size as the nozzle arm so I’m assuming that’s a part of the problem. So far, I’ve taped all 3 mags and they all work and feed fine (And still fit/feed in my M16A1 😀), so I’m going to run it as is for the time being until either the mag catch fails or the nozzle and then replace both!
-
Nozzle seems fine, will change the spring still as it sticks but can’t see any faults with the “arm” With the magazine in, the bolt catch twists at an angle both empty and loaded. The top of the blue tape is where the bottom of the mag well is lined up when the magazine is at the “correct” position, so there’s quite a drop. It’s roughly 0.5cm of difference. The video shows the movement better. IMG_5230.mov This is the “optimal” position for the tape, which locks the mag into the correct spot and lets it fire. A fix, but not ideal… Any ideas greatly appreciated 😂

Just thinking back, when I got the rifle stripped down the first time for the normal degrease/regrease there was a lot of BB fragments around the BCG from what I assume was from when I tested it the moment I got it. It hasn’t happened since, so I think tomorrow I’ll disassemble the BCG and check it all. Possibly replace the return spring too as it’s a bit sticky

Now, I'm no expert but... Is that not - this? https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/double-eagle-m917g-utr45-submachine-gun-aeg

I'll have to take a video or image of the issue tomorrow. I've never ran into this issue before! It fires fine when the mag is held up, might have to invest in some elastic bands and stick it around the mag and rifle 😂
-
I'll have to double check and see if mine does the same... All 3 of the "30 rounders" work fine in my m16a1 with no issue, feeds every bb etc. I figured I'd try the "20 rounders" in my SA80 and had the same issue. When I was testing the SA80 earlier, rarely one BB will make it through however now I know it's having issues I don't want to fire it properly in case more damage is caused.

That's why I tried the tape trick, normally does work but this time nothing. When I insert the mag (With the top half off) the bolt release bar turns at an angle (Roughly 45 degrees), I was wondering if that is normal?

The 'What have you just bought' Thread
JinxDuh replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
So if we see you post a rif in the boneyard section... 🤣 -
No, holding the mag up feeds with absolutely 0 issues. However, it drops quite a bit afterwards! That was my initial thought, as my m16a1 came with that issue but nozzle is all good!
-
So, bit of a weird one I’ve not ran into before… The 3 WE M4 mags I have, all seem to be dropping down on my SA80 resulting in dry firing with no BB’s being pushed into battery. If you slowly push the bolt forwards watching the nozzle, you can see the nozzle actually push the BB down in the magazine. I assumed the mag catch was worn, but it seems fine except from one corner worn slightly. These same mags work flawlessly in my M16A1 so I don’t think it’s a magazine issue, plus it does it on all 3 mags. I thought about tape, but I tried 3 different spots with no luck. Anybody have any ideas for a fix?

Much to echo the above, ordered with them twice as they had things I couldn’t find anywhere else in stock (On the same site) First order took roughly 10 days to be shipped out, then a good few weeks for delivery. One of the items I had ordered was missing, thankfully it was only a couple of quid. Second order never got sent out, and responses to emails was non existent so PayPal disputed for the refund.

I don’t remember really, sorry. It is with the titan though! Here was my post about the fps issues. Note the fps I quoted here is with the hop adjusted to my liking and with the parts being “worn in”
-
The optic had scuffed the paint slightly, but yeah I was also a little shocked that a big company like patrol base would pull something sleezy. Although if they did refund, I’d of ended up getting another one anyway so 😂
-
They wouldn't refund or replace, because I'd stuck optics etc onto mine so if you can - chrono it before kitting it out!
-
It's been a while since it was done, so I can't fully remember but when I bought it the replica had an fps variation of about 150, it was all over the place and had a massive air leak problem. I'm sure it was a one off lemon case, but I sent it back and they replaced the nozzle, hop up rubber and something else and now it shoots bang on 342 with 0.5 variation up or down (On .2g) - They replaced oem parts with oem parts, by the way.

I'm assuming you mean the Umarex one? I absolutely adore mine, after Patrol Base fixed the lemon I received from them. So far all I've done to it is fitted a gate titan (Mostly for the 30 round mag lock, no firing without mag inserted and bolt press to "load" it) and it's been an absolute workhorse. It hasn't needed anything doing to it. I have 0 regrets about buying one, personally.
