  1. Krylon Ultra flat Matt paint works the best in my experience. I'd do a few layers(2-3) for your base color, and then stencil with the secondary colors after that as you see fit. It will need a touch up from time to time as it will wear, but as that is what you are going for that shouldn't be a problem.
  2. So we are referring to the internals of the gun. For the externals, do whatever your heart desires, that is one reason for so many pages. Most of the issues are caused by mixing and matching parts. QC is something TM has down pat, and when you mix that with drivetrain components that are not to the correct spec, you have issues. I have never run ProWIn Mags, but if you are having issues with them running with your aftermarket bolt carrier, I have a hard time agreeing that it is superior. My stock bolt carrier and mags run like a champ and have for thousands of rounds. The only issues I ever ran into involved running an aftermarket light weight bolt...which was remedied by going back to the original. From near 0 degrees C to over 30 degress C, this thing has run. Sure, slower at colder temps but better than any gasser should and anything above...It just runs.
  3. I'll be honest I'm terrified to take that thing apart...It runs smooth enough for me though.
  4. For the love of Baby Jesus, we just need to pin this at the top of each page. Keep the gun as stock as possible with exception to the nozzle return spring. Heavy BBs? Change the nub. Need more FPS? Longer barrel or NPAS. Mags? I've got four that I bought with mine and they just keep running and running and running. I've got over 10K rounds at this point through mine, I've replaced the stock bucking but only because I shot it out. Which is DAMN hard to do I might add. This gun sees the most use of my collection because it just works, and its accuracy gives my SRS and Tanaka M40 a run for its money. It will never beat the SRS, but it is actually far more consistent than the M40 on green gas (Normally run on HPA). Don't believe me? Watch my videos:
  5. Use the Dave's Super nub and the stock bucking. In this video I was using the AA nub and stock bucking and have since switched to the metal Dave's nub, and its more consistent. Using heavy BB's will help you see the best gain in accuracy.
  6. SixG Nub, stock bucking until it wears out. Upgrade nozzle return spring to 150%, and use a 370mm barrel, and .4-.45's. You will be grinning as I do at every skirmish.
  7. It was just an idea! Haha more just wishful thinking that TM would make a gas bolt gun, they have a great base and it would be super easy.
  8. Aright Alright I'll let this one be put to bed. No MWS was harmed in the discussion of the abominations mentioned above 🤣
  9. I have a springer, for context I used to run Tanakas but never really enjoyed the consistency. I'm super impressed with the MWS, I honestly just wish TM would make a bolt gun that uses the same mags or something similar, they would sell like hot cakes.
  10. Alright guys, now bear with me. I promise I have a good reason for asking this. Lets say I really enjoy the consistency of the MWS. Lets say I normally use a bolt gun at the skirmish for sniping. I really like the ergonomics of my MWS setup, and was curious if there was a way to install a different valve, or modify the rocket valve to allow for single shot mode. Yes, one shot at a time, pulling the charging handle back to cycle a new round each time. It's heresy I know, but could it be done? I feel like it could be done relatively easily, but I am not sure of how one would do that. When you are done laughing/scratching your head at what I just asked, let me know your thoughts **I understand that this would eliminate the recoil function of the MWS- that is fine for what I would be using it for so long as I could revert it back to its normal function**
  11. What @davegolf said. Only thing I'd add to your list is a spare nozzle return spring, 150% if you can find one. Don't change anything else other than what you listed above, and honestly I love my tan modify but you could run the stock bucking for ages before it wears out(Mine lasted 10K rounds, Modify is the same great accuracy just better in the cold than rubber, wears out faster though)
  12. I like the original bucking, just had some issues in the colder weather with accuracy. Several thousand rounds in on the Modify tan and its working well for now- I've also got a handguard that allows for removal and hop/barrel swap in under 3 minutes so swapping a bucking isn't the worst thing in the world for me...but we'll see how long this one lasts
  13. Can you give an approximate round count?
  14. I fully concur and can confirm this. Seriously, I have had ZERO issues with leaks and I almost exclusively run propane. Drop of oil every month or two for the mags, keep the piston cup lubed and you are golden. On a side note Dave, I ordered a tan modify bucking and I am having great results with it with 1-2k rounds through it at this point. Will report if it starts falling apart, but maybe I've gotten an older varient or the QC has gotten better...VERY accurate and better in the cold than the stock bucking.
  15. You nailed it dude. Only thing is have a 150% nozzle spring on hand and you are set, match barrel length to fps desires and go... I've tested a lot of aftermarket stuff and the HSB and Nub is pretty much all that I have kept. I have spare marui hopup rubbers on hand and some spare TM nozzles as sometimes they can become deformed if using heavy BBs, but it takes like 7K-10K rounds before its even really needing replacement.
  16. Which black npas are you using? RA Tech or...?
  17. Do you use the metal C clip? I'll double check it, but it seemed fine when I inspected it. Cheap enough to justify another order for a 60D as I am using mine in a DMR. EDIT: Removed the C clip, gave it a shot- much more consistent. I still get the odd flier, but that may just be because I haven't bedded it in yet.
  18. So I tried this with my laylax barrel and it gave abysmal results- even after adjusting the side fin to fit in the hop unit. Do you have to use with one of their barrels?
  19. Since people are talking about upgrades, I have to report that my hao industries bolt that I had set up for ultralight use actually works worse that the stock bolt in the cold. Like way worse 😂 Now I'm back to my only upgrades being Daves nub and HSB, a 150% spring, and a laylax 370mm inner barrel and the thing just works even in the cold. Occasionally I'll use a different rocket valve for DMR purposes but the more stock the better it would seem. I am curious, how many people rate the tan modify bucking? I've heard they have QC issues as of late, and I'm going to run the stock marui until I can't anymore but its good to have options in the bin for when the time comes.
  20. What do you do to keep your mags warm in game? I've noticed that my gun runs fine in cold but if the mags sit out for a while it it cycles slower, even on the light bolt- after leaving the mags in a warm pocket for ten minutes or so its back to normal. Running propane in 50 degrees F.
  21. Here is some game play of the MWS in mention(ignore thumbnail thats at the end of the video):
  22. For those who cannot find a lightweight BCG, I recently picked up the HAO industries ecoline BCG. Initially it was only 40 grams lighter than the stock bolt, but then I swapped the BCG weight with the marui and I have a complete BCG that weighs 125 grams...Works like a champ. On the note of upgrades, really just a 150% nozzle spring and Dave's nub is all you need. I am using a lightweight bolt for colder weather/DMR shot tracking purposes. Choose inner barrel to match velocity requirements and go...I easily have over 10K rounds through mine and I have had it for 8 months or so, I shoot it nearly every day. Love it to pieces!
  23. Not an answer but a look at the real rifle which may point you in the right direction.
  24. Propane, 70-80F. Again this was to see what the setup is capable of, in game MED's apply and power of the rounds drops a lot after it leaves the gun.
  25. TM MWS, Stock bucking, SixG nub and buffer spacer, 410mm Barrel + Revanchist High Flow Nozzle. Otherwise stock. Tested with .45's: 357.8 (fps) 354.5 355.1 354.3 355.3 355.7 354.9 357.1 1-2 seconds between shots. Average of 2.65-2.66J Got an average of 350 with .48's, similar consistency with one deviation of +10 FPS Non UK user so higher FPS is legal where I'm at, that being said I have the stock nozzle and a Dynamic precision nozzle on hand to help tame that down a bit for DMR uses. Why am I sharing this? Because I am SUPER impressed with the consistency. Its on par with my SRS using the same ammo.
