  1. cool, I look forward to watching it.
  2. Yea I was thinking to move the torch to a front side rail along a grip below. The rail is very chunky and can’t be removed from the mount.
  3. True, I’d much rather a nice clean look.
  4. Yea I was thinking about working on the wood to add a rail but I am going to keep it intact so I can swap it if I fancy it and just buy a rail for the front end. I am considering fucking off the side mount and drilling the top plate to add a rail to it for the rds.
  5. Yea, if the orange was the same tone as the hand guard I probably would have left it, but it was a horrible tacky orange. This one is far from perfect but I think it’s still an improvement on the orange that was.
  6. yea I don’t understand why you wouldn’t use spades if not fitting a mosfet or perm wiring. Meant I couldn’t remove the trigger unit and was a bit of a pain. Getting in the way. had a quick spray up of the orange mag, not a neat job just a quick one to see if I like the look. What does everyone think? I think it’s better than the orange but the grey needs to be darker/softer in my opinion. Also it doesn’t match the ak at the moment as it clashes with the wood guards. Will look better once they get swapped out.
  7. True, i do have the smaller Calibre mag aswell but in the terrible orange colour. I will be re-spraying it next week as a trial for a pattern I want to try.
  8. Haha I have to admit I am not a big ak fan myself. But for my first rif I wanted something that had a good rep indoor and out, I shall be replacing the handguard for a tactical, either top and bottom or just bottom for now. adding a few bits to this then going to pick up a hi Capa I think. Yea of course no worries.
  9. Will do, I will update this thread as I upgrade it. Hopefully everything goes well! Did think at one point today wtf have I done! But all good in the end. Looking forward to Sunday’s video!
  10. So my first rif (2nd hand) arrived this morning. It’s a Cybergun ak47u. As it was a few years old and the previous owner hadn’t opened it for a few years I thought I’d give it a bash, well that was a learning curve! (The trigger spring and reverse latch! What little bastards!) It was definitely worth stripping down, compression was non-existent, cylinder head was ok but piston seal was so loose it had no chance of sealing. Replaced and all good. it had obviously had work in the past, it was shimmed well and needed no adjustment there, but the bushes need to be replaced. Also all the wiring has been soldered at the motor and trigger which made working on it slightly more of a pain (will replace all cables and install mosfet soon). The spring could also do with being replaced and bearing guide fitted. Exiting spring has a pretty poor cut job on it. Cleaned lubed and rebuilt. Had a bit of a faff with the trigger but got there eventually. Had an issue then with not being able to select semi, cause found to be bad position of wire when I rebuilt it, adjusted and now all good. Now waiting on payday to get some replacement parts ordered and then just the wait to get to use it!
  11. Next day delivery, was due Tuesday, now expected Friday :( I’m far too impatient!! Haha

It turned up this morning! :) Can’t wait to get it out in the field now! Few little issues but going to strip it down and service it today.

If you order and pay for next day delivery then really you should get it. That's why I always try and shop through Amazon where I can as Prime delivery is a game changer if you can get the bits you want.

Airsoft shops do seem to be a little archaic in their approach, 1-3 days for handling and then dispatch. No man, it's not hard, when I worked for a retailer/distributor if it was late PM and an order came in, the expectation was to make sure that order was read yfor the courier, not take 2 days to pick your nose and have a cup of tea.

  12. Bought my first rif (2nd hand ak74) now trying to decide what to do internally when it arrives! Thinking general check/service. Replace bucking and shim just to start off.

If it shoots good don’t mess with it in case you f something up . Buy another rif secondhand and tinker with that .

On the other hand you’ve got plenty of time in this lockdown to tinker and fix any mistakes .

  13. Not the one she was after unfortunately! Will have to wait a while anyway funds pretty crappy atm.
  14. I wish that helped with my wife! Looks like I have to bribe her with a new garmin, think I might be waiting a while! Haha.
  15. Being completely new I had planned on renting till I knew what I wanted to buy and not get 2 tone, but I think the waiting is getting to me! Probably going to buy some second hand bits just to get into teching with to get me into the hobby and keep the boredom away! Just need to get the funds to keep the wife off my back! Haha.

I don’t have one but I believe it’s an M-LOK handgrip so would require an M-LOK foregrip or adapter plate.
  17. I don’t think they have started up orders to the UK again yet. I have had the same when trying I place an order (over £135)
  18. Haha that does sound like me, especially as there are less opportunities to get out and use it, I know it will sit there just talking to me “tinker, you know you want to!”
  19. I’ve never found Facebook groups particularly helpful on subjects like this anyway, too much censorship/control not able to organise discussions or threads. This place is so much more helpful and easy to navigate IMO. Facebook does have its uses for quick updates or sharing of info/company adverts but that’s where it’s limited.
  20. Fair one, might end up just being a case of as and when I want to see if I can get any improvements but that will be a way down the line, need to get playing first!
  21. Awesome cheers guys, I will stick with the 7.4 and nano for now and look further down the line at other upgrade either as things fail/performance drops or if my collection grows and I can afford to tinker.
  22. Thanks for the reply. Is it worth adding the Warfet over a standard mosfet? I’m not really fussed about having any programmability, would just be looking for contact protection if I run an 11.1. Saying that low battery protection would also be a benefit.
  23. Yea I love tinkering and fixing things (I’m an engineer) so I think I will end up probably teching more in the long run especially with the current climate. Good shout on getting something that is already working, I just enjoy brining things back to life, however I will need to have a level of understanding first so the working route is probably the best place to start.
  24. Awesome thanks for the replies guys, sounds pretty impressive out of the box. I am looking to get into teching but think my best bet would be getting hold of some boneyard items for that and leave the CM as stock until I’m more confident and when it needs it.
  25. Thanks for the reply, I will put a pic up when I get one, along with any loadout or upgrade I may end up doing. But as suggested for now I will just get a feel for it as it comes.
