I've tried pretty much everything and as much as I begrudge admitting it courtesy of the 'influencer backing' Bloc Tactical (I specifically have the 'Lynx' model) with the foam gasket is the only one that has come close. Played over the weekend with them and had minimal issues all weekend, staying still for an extended period after running back and forth let to some fogging but as long as I was somewhat mobile or there was a degree of crosswind they were great. I'd probably pick up a headstrap as well, the gasket makes them fairly front heavy.

 

Before these I was using ESS Crossbow Suppressors with a Valhalla ExFog gasket and an ExFog. That worked great but was less comfortable and required me to wear something to mount the ExFog on, my go to being a helmet but that's less than ideal when it's this warm out.

 

 

Having just watched a video on YouTube from someone who has recently had a mooch around the site it's definitely more concrete playground than it is much ressembling a theme park anymore... but should be a laugh nevertheless.

It doesn’t really affect me because I have a pop up that doesn’t really need pegs. Very much a case of ‘is what it is’, from what I can gather any open ground on the site is concrete so there isn’t a huge amount that could be done to avoid it.

@Cr0-Magnon It's the Warzone folks if memory serves. It's not somewhere I went while it was open and truthfully it doesn't look like a huge amount of it's left... but a new playground is a new playground.

 

@JustMark It's in Chorley, tickets went up in January I believe. Sold out extremely quickly, as to be expected.

The 5KU B11 is very loose at the end which meets the receiver on the Cyma if memory serves. I struggled to find any Zenitco (be it real or any of a number of repros) that fit the Cyma well and ultimately did the opposite of you and bought an E&L. Granted at this point I'd given up on the idea of doing it myself and sent it off to have a real B11u machined to sit properly in the E&L.

 

TLDR, don't bother fucking with AKs. There is nothing common spec wise across them so nothing ever fits properly without bodging.

It’s all far too exaggerated and deliberately cliche for there to be much of a root in genuine issues for me. Just inflated bravado, but as I say, interesting nevertheless. Granted it’s also interesting how it all somehow shifted to a very personal narrative on both sides of the fence. Online interactions will never cease to amaze me.

I genuinely think they’re just enjoying the anonymity of it all, I certainly had fun putting myself out there as something I’m not on the internet before in my

younger years. As long as no one is getting hurt it’s all just entertainment from a few bored folks as I see it 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Ultimately, like it or lump it, if you’re going with Magpul furniture you’re already in the same dress as most of the other girls. The colour is somewhat a moot point. Have nothing against it, but if you have the desire to be a snowflake in any way, shape or form avoiding Magpul is probably wise. I’d just got with whatever your preference is, irrelevant of what you go with you know full well you’ll run into someone with something almost identical on your first day using it.

Black cling wrap (palette wrap) is a God send. You can get it pretty cheap for a decent sized roll on Amazon. I tend to fill gaps will brown parcel paper because it tends to be cheaper than bubble wrap but either works.

Once you’re happy with how secure everything is, finish off with a few passes of palette wrap to keep everything cinched in while also safely covering up box markings/images.

I'd go with the VSR personally, make the most of the dwindling amount of foliage while you can!

If I remember correctly from when you were initially contemplating packing it in you'd been enjoying another hobby with your kid(s)? Assuming I'm remembering correctly I hope that's still the case, and I hope that enjoyment lasts you for a fair old while! The friends I met up with all seem to prefer Comm Site 3 so I’m hoping to join them there at some point. I ended up hanging around what I believe was called the ‘tank graveyard’ or something along those lines for a decent portion of the afternoon. Of the parts of the site I saw that seemed to best match the type of gameplay I enjoy.

Seemed like a decent site, if I'm going for outdoors I tend to prefer what I'd call 'proper woods' but I can't hold that against the site at all.

 

Managed to annihilate my left quad within half an hour of starting to play which put a bit of a dampner on the day, but I was still able to enjoy myself. Thoroughly enjoying a reinvigorated enjoyment of the game at the moment. I've been very close to packing it in multiple times throughout 'the COVID times', I'm glad I didn't.

I feel like the airsoft version is much more 'HK snap' than it is 'HK slap'. Yes I'm aware how shit that 'joke' is, and no, I'm not ashamed.

Folks usually do it with a bit more force for... reasons.

We all know the answer to that one. Why add cost for no widespread gain? Hell, most of the don't add cost for something that would be a widespread gain i.e. actual QC/QA.

It's all a preamble to safe zone/dead zone circle jerks and photo ops innit. Much like flinging mags half way around the planet with a fancy 'flick' reload you saw on Instagram, you're only ever doing it if folks are watching/it's being recorded.

 

Don't get me wrong, the image element of airsoft is as valid as any other part... but that's the part where HK slaps have their place.

That would make two of us, I wouldn't say I babysit my RIFs too much but I generally avoid doing things I actively know are reducing the lifespan of parts. As with everything, if folks want to do it then go nuts. It's your money, but I've certainly heard more than one 'as if the cocking lever/tube broke, what a load of shit' in my time only to find myself questioning what outcome they were expecting.

I'm sure I could, but I'd rather not be messing about doing irreversible changes to a piece of expensive kit that ultimately just stands to harm the resale value down the line should I want to change it. Stuck it up on here, already treated myself to a replacement

If the past year and a half has taught me anything, it's to just say it like it is and save yourself the time. If he doesn't like it then I doubt he'll be bothering you anymore, or he'll 'get it' and stop doing the bits that irk you (perhaps needing a nudge from time to time as a reminder). Either way, problem solved.

I get it's very easy to say, and awkward social interactions can be pretty painful... but don't let crap like this hinder your enjoyment of anything, irrelevant of what it is.
