    You called?

I have an absolute raft of Russian gear, ranging from Soviet M68 to Afghan all the way through to modern Russian stuff.  I was also in a Modern Russian Airsoft team 'The Bolsheviks' - this was all pre Ukraine mind.  Not one bit of it has seen the light of day since the invasion.  The people that wear this sort of stuff in times like this are deserving of every bit of derision.

Though equally, when do we draw the line? I saw someone in a 1980s RUC kit on the internet, which personally as an Irishman I find kind edgy.  I wouldn't even dream of wearing anything Nazi related not similarly would I turn up in a camo jacket, armalite and balaclava pretending to be in the IRA....its about respect at the end of the day.

Historically themed kit should, in my opinion be the preserve of historically themed games, where it can be taken in its proper context.....now wheres me petrol bomb?
Plus this country now has a sizeable Eastern European/Ukrainian presence which would find it distasteful...don't be a cunt at the end of the day...

End of the day, z/wagner shit is claiming hundreds+ lives every day, even today, on both sides, & let's not forget that some of those Russians aren't there out of choice, & others may have gone there having been misled by the dictatorships "free" media & state propaganda.
On that basis, no site should be allowing these patches to be worn on gamedays, in 30+ years you might get away with them being part of a viable loadout (but I doubt it), but in 2023 they're just symbols of oppression & murder on a massive scale.

And this is the exact kind of smug virtuous “oh no one complained when America blah blah blah or when China blah blah blah or the big bad British Empire blah blah blah” comments is why I didn’t mention about not buying from Russia due to a moral standpoint originally . Im sorry but all your trying to do is score some “look at me I'm so right on and politically aware on my high horse” points , what your comparing to the Russian invasion of the Ukraine is puerile at best and bloody offensive at worst ALL Governments are guilty of some heinous crimes at sometime or another but Russia is committing genocide against a sovereign nation live on tv 24/7 ! Plus how do you suggest we sanction China and America then seeing as China is responsible for 28.7% and America 16.8% of the Global manufacturing output making them No’s 1&2 respectively(fyi the Russian federation is 15th with petrochemical but 47th without) ?

Hard agree with the posters above. I'll not purchase anything from Russia or Belorussia now, most likely forever.

As someone who mostly does Soviet WW2 airsoft, that does make getting good kit difficult as the main suppliers are either in Russia, Belorussia or Ukraine.

But WW2 airsoft is a nicety that my friends and family who live under the Russian bombardments wish they could go back to. War is much nicer with toy guns.

there's a difference between doing things that are required for day to day life, like driving to work, cooking, and keeping yourself warm and spending money on frivolous luxuries that you can absolutely go without.

we should be incredibly grateful that the cost of this war for us in the uk is being charged in pounds sterling and not blood.

individually maybe not, the point is when done collectively all the little slices of fuck all add up to make something of substance.

every Russian factory/shop that shuts down due to lack of sales is a crowd of disgruntled workers who won't be fans of how Putin's government has messed up their lives.

Some Ukrainian guys that I know went home to fight when the invasion began; they are all still alive and doing their bit to defeat the Putinist fascists.  I will not buy anything that even slightly benefits Russia until the country sorts itself out.

have to say i agree here.

at the risk of opening a can of worms I'm not sure how comfortable I'd be continuing to buy stuff from Russia given current events.

I might like their kit on a technical level, but I don't want any part in supporting the present actions of their government, no matter how indirectly.

Not at all. Your criticisms are entirely valid and I accept that. But you've oddly mistaken a rebuttal for something it just isn't.

You're free to openly criticise my post in this thread, just as I'm allowed to reply to said criticism. I've taken what you've said (and Rogerborg) on board and reduced the price. So I do appreciate that.

There's not much else to it, if you were expecting a hissy fit then I'm afraid we're at an impasse. Hopefully the next person will prove more entertaining?
