£22.55 from Brownell's (in OD green or black and brown)  and a further £5.99 for delivery £28.54 total brand new (70% of retail would be £19.99)

    Strike 1

    £31.90 again brownell's, £5.99 delivery. £37.89 total brand new (70% retail would be £26.52)

    Strike 2

    £67.65 Brownell's, 5.99 delivery. Total £73.64 brand new (70% retail would make this £51.55)

    Strike 3, you're out!

I get that it's real steal stuff but even at 80% of retail value those items seems a bit over priced to me. Those prices are so close to retail that I'd buy new just to the new item smell and the unboxing/opening experience of a new item. Maybe I'm being unreasonable here?

Yeah your probably right, but a price can only come down right?

I've amended the used pistol grip but the hand-stop and Ergo are brand new so I'm sticking at those prices. Plus with the issue's with US air freight it took nearly 2 months to get here...

Time is money and all that.

Personally I only feel the need to apply the '70% retail' to used items. If your selling something brand new I think its irrelevant.

Love your build, mate. Agree on many of your choices and am now looking out for a PTS ambi switch. where did you find yours, please? and CTR stocks just rock, whatever the weather :)

    Thanks bud! 😁

I picked my switch up from Fire Support, but just checked and they are now out of stock. So is Land Warrior unfortunately...

You could setup stock reminders or you can order directly from PTS if you don't mind ordering overseas?

  3. Got a few bits on order to turn this 10.3" URGI into a 11.5" FBI HRT rifle...

I will more than likely be selling the ODG Cerakote rail, 10.3" Outer barrel and Magpul furniture from this build if anyone would be interested?

Wouldn't be for a while though!

@RMDavis Thanks for the calming words! How was the bucking that came with it?

No worries bud, I can't comment on the bucking however.

I used the original TM one coupled with the SixG Brass nub. 👍

Any experiences with the G&P inner barrels? I’m considering to go the 263 mm route for a more compact build. Thus, leaving the 360 mm prommy behind after a year of chairsofting

I have one of their 370mm inner barrels in my MRE and had no issues whatsoever. 👍

  6. Has anyone built up an MWS PDW style rifle? 8.5" outer barrel or less as an example?

Was thinking of building up a spare upper to do just that, but was worried about range/accuracy if you start going below the standard 10.5" found on the CQBR.

As you would need to shorten the already short 250mm inner barrel to about 200mm!

I currently run a 10.3" on my mini URGI with no issues, but to go for 8.5" in barrel size is quite different!

    P.S @Wild Weasel

I also removed my HAO BCG yesterday as upon inspection I found mine too had started to cause damage to the entrance of the buffer tube.

It would also occasionally throw the bolt forward when inserting a fresh mag, not ideal...

Put the TM one back in and have no issues, shame as the HAO one looks awesome but I'd much rather have a rifle that works correctly and doesent chew itself up!

Now that I’ve found out the angry gun barrels are shit I have ordered one of the g&p mws barrels. What do you folks think of those or should I cancel the order and get a z parts one.

also had a strange problem with a stock mk18 today. Put about 10 mags through it over a game day today. Used a maximum of 5 shots in one go and the temp was about 16 degrees so I don’t think I had cool down problems. Most mags were fine but on two occasions they behaved as if they were running out of gas halfway through the mag. Any idea what could cause this. Any ideas? And thanks for your input.

My G&P MRE rail came complete with its own outer barrel and I haven't had any issues whatsoever with fitment, and no hop problems when shooting etc.

Just my own personal experiences of course, but providing your happy with the barrel you've picked I think your good to go bud. 👍

On a complete contrast to Angry Gun everything made from G&P fitted to my MRE build has been perfect.

Rail, outer barrel, charging handle, ambi mag release, qd rear sling plate, ambi fire selector.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy any external parts for the MWS from them.

The patina turned out great but I’d like to see some last ingredient to create a bit of contrast. Why not try some numbers with a marker or a bit of tape somewhere?

    Thank you! 😊

I was thinking of adding some extra touches to make even more personalised, just wasn't sure what...

Only thing I did think was marking the adjusters on the peq-2 with a paint pen to show if it had lost zero? 🤔

Some gun tape could work well though I will have a look for more ideas.

  9. Old is Gold...

Current status of the MWS based KAC MRE railed Delta rifle.

Picked up a clone SF M600B as a place holder until I can get something suitably vintage, and bought an extremely cheap and very plasticity PEQ-2 battery box! (It was very shiny and just awful) 😂

Managed to make it look somewhat decent with some Khaki Krylon and again weathered using some thinners.

Would like to replace it with a G&P PEQ-2 but they are extremely hard to find!

Regardless I think it looks the part and I'm loving how this thing has turned out. With the Eotech zero'd in its performing very well indeed.

I would certainly consider building another retro rifle maybe something with a carry handle and plastic furniture.

    Who knows!?

A full weekend of airsoft at the end of the month at @ucapairsoft Green Ops and I can't bloody wait, its been too long! 👍

  10. I think we can all agree that Angry Gun QC is very hit and miss!

My clone Surefire suppressor from them is fantastic and I haven't had any issues with it, and works perfectly with my Acetech Lighter-S tracer unit.

The Milspec Buffer Tube also fitted without issue and definitely took the slop out of my Car-15 Stock.

However their Maritime Bolt Catch is utter garbage! I initially fitted it to my URGI-1 build as it's part of the Geissele package.

But with the bcg in the rearward position as soon as you press the mag release to put in a fresh one, it touches the bolt catch on the other side and throws the bcg forward... 😂

I had to use a dremmel and remove material from the underside so it no longer made contact...

Mate of mine just bought the l119a2 ambi mag release from them for his mws and it flat out doesn't work whatsoever, there's not enough material to hold the mag in place.

I mean look at their latest release, the A2 Outer barrels...

Who releases a product, that is not fit for purpose and then announces that with a post on Facebook and tells everyone how much material they need to remove with a file!?

To make their shitty product fit! 😳

  11. 4 hours ago, gunbod007 said:

It sits too low and I have realised the piece of material I thought I should file will just end up meaning that it will slip back down overtime

I'm not sure what you filed down?

Thats not something I needed to do on mine.

The problem I had was that it didn't locate properly on the buffer tube cut out (standard TM tube) and each time I would tighten the buffer tube / castle nut it would shift from being centered!

It took many attempts getting the nut in the correct position so when I tightened it fully it didn't over rotate the ASAP QD plate... I found it much easier to put a QD Sling point into the plate whilst it was doing this as it helped locate it whilst tightening it up.

Has anyone successfully fitted a Magpul ASAP QD sling point. They are different to the ASAP and I am having problems.

Yes buddy managed to get one fitted on my URGI, wasn't easy! What's the problem with yours?

Now then folks, I'm in the market for an ambi fire selector and atrg says that the angry gun one which is predominantly the most available is shite, does anybody have a link to a reasonably priced selector that they have/have tried please?

I would highly reccomend the G&P ambi selector (KAC Style) solid build with very little free play, and defined selection.

    https://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/gp-ambi-safety-selector-for-marui-mws-gbb

Out of stock at the moment via Fire Support but I'm sure you'll be able to get it somewhere else. 👍

Can't get a RS QD sling plate to fit without mods either so its one way or the other

I managed to get a RS Magpul QD plate to fit on my MWS with no mods.

The only issue is that it is slightly larger than the TM buffer tube so it rotates slightly as you tighten it up.

Just requires patience turning it in the right place to set it in the right position.

Here's an older photo of my URGI build that shows it fitted.

Works perfectly with Ferro Concepts QD loops. 👍

@RMDavis Lookimg dandy there fella. I concur with both yourself and Dave re the condition of the EO and weathering the rest of the rifle to match. This is coming along very nice.

Now the topic of screen protectors. This is where I differ. Keep it on buddy as you just never know. It’s not worth the risk however small it may be. No one else will notice it. I have one on mine plus I have a riser in front so double protection.

Thanks mate, I've already ordered a can of Khaki Krylon Camouflage if I get a chance next week the MRE will definitely get a dusting!

If I can get it to look anything like this one I'd be happy! 😊

Anyone ever put screen protectors over their torch lenses. Just got an Olight PL2 and the thought only just occurred to me it's still a lense that could smash.

I used to have a PL2 (fantastic torch) not ideal but just so you know behind the glass is a polycarbonate lens as mine got shot out and after picking out the bits of glass you'd never know!

@RMDavis  shes looking fine for sure, i think you need to weather the rest of it a bit, the 551 looks ace, looking a bit tired will only add to the authenticity of an 'older' build.

Maybe some distressed / worn off FDE, residual in the creases of the reciever mouldings etc?

The 551 should put up with BB joules no bother, i would get some 3M heli-tape and just put a layer on the front lens to take the sting out of a BB strike.

Totally agree on the condition of the rest of the rifle compared to the eotech! Plan was to apply a cautious amount of tan/fde and then wear it off to give it the lived in look to match the 551.

Thanks for the advice regarding the glass, i will have a look at the 3M tape as an option as I'm not a fan of the lens protector!

  18. Getting close to completion on this old skool Delta build now. 😁

Managed to source a genuine Eotech 551 (a little bit battered and bruised) but it works perfectly and probably has a few stories to tell.

Excuse the horrid plastic lens cover, but i really don't want the old girl getting shot out!

Sat on a clone Larue ECOS-C riser, I'd love a genuine one but can't find anywhere in the UK to get hold of one. 😔

Both suit this rifle brilliantly and I'm really pleased with how this project is turning out.

Looking forward to the time when I can actually get out there and get some use out of it! 😂
