  1. I know I'm still a noob and it depends on the play style but for the love of god I don't understand this capacity anxiety :). I have 4 mags right now, 1 in the gun and 3 spares and at both games I was, with each lasting well over 5 hours, I barely went over 2 ... I saw/heard ppl shooting like crazy but usually, in direct confrontation, all that shooting just helped me spot them, while they were spraying the leaves around me. It's true that I also have a side arm (3 mags total with 26 rounds each) but still ... probably personal reference and all
  2. Not that often to be honest but ... I found these really thin warmers, for toes, they are like 2 mm thick and are flat and also have an adhesive on one side so I would plan to stick them directly on the mags, maybe will fit even the pistol ones, the mag well is pretty generous. Anyway, will let you know if I use them and if they work as I intend them to
  3. So the problem would be the other way around, not enough power. I really wonder how Nuprol 4.0 with whatever ethane % they say it has, compares with propane. I also have the option of sticking a toe warmer on the mag. It's rated at 37 C with a maximum of 45 C, but that will be distributed to only a part of the mag and also there will be heat loss and what not. Decisions decisions ....
  4. used G&G precision 0.25 Bio BBs and didn't notice any issues with both my MWS and the TM Beretta. Only for one match though, so I'll see in the future And a dilema... Last time, I used ProTech green gas which seems to be pretty decent (~133 psi ...at room temp I guess) for the MWS and ABBEY 144 for the Beretta. The temps were about 7-15 C and everything worked fine, except the Beretta wasn't locking on empty every now and then. Now, I am about to go this Sunday to a field and the temps are forecast to be between 0-7 C and also rain, so the "feels like" temps will probably be lower and I am a bit worried. I am thinking of using Nuprol 4.0 for the MWS and the ProTech in the Beretta. Would that be safe ?
  5. uhm what key size do I need to open the magazine ? for the green gas mod. My keys are too big and I need to get a new one, smaller Also, for noobs like me, this looks pretty helpful (looks like a thorough assembly/disassembly tutorials for the mws): Later edit: Did the green gas mod and I learned two things: -it's much easier to use a guide (used a log screw driver) to reinsert the magazine spring, just insert the screw driver through the spring until it reaches the spring tube and then just push it along -even with using a pipe cutter, there can be aluminium shavings left that may reach the o-rings and cause a bad seal. Happened on one the the mags, tested it after and it was leaking and the cause was this, very small shavings (1mm or so) around the o-ring. Cleaned them up under a magnifier and problem solved Also, the prometheus barrel that I got ( reference: https://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/prometheus-603mm-eg-inner-barrel-for-m4a1-mws-370mm) fits perfectly, the hop up cut out and all the grooves are identical with the stock marui and length wise it ends exactly where the outer barrel ends, without the flash suppressor.
  6. Wait, won't increasing the BB weight drop the fps ? Or this is where the "infamous" joule creep ... creeps in ? Later edit : never mind, I thought you said 390 FPS with the heavy BBs but I assume it's 390 with .2s Also, to understand your previous post: Ideal shot = Ideal FPS+Ideally weighted BB @ Ideal hop spin and from here onward, increasing the FPS will make the BB travel faster but becoming unstable because it doesn't receive enough hop spin for that speed but then, if compensating with more hop spin, the BB will shoot to the moon as you said, because it's too light, hence a heavier BB is required but then the default TM bucking/nub are too soft to actually apply the hop spin and then we need a tougher rubber/sturdier nub .... that's the gist of it, right ?
  7. that makes a lot of sense actually, I never thought of the relation between fps/hopup/bb weight... TNX. And this is extended by hop-up style/rubber hardness and so on ... Anyway, I already ordered the barrel and an RA npas, the shop had only 2 left so I was like ... why not And for limits, I think I have 400 fps available to me so for now I will probably stay with the longer barrel and the 25s or 28s, get a feel for the gun, how it shoots/hops and so on. Also, I need to stop buying stuff for a while, otherwise my significant other will probably start using the guns .... on me
  8. Let's see if I get this right. Using .28s let's say, even with the longer barrel, I will see an increase in FPS but not in range/accuracy, because the BBs are too light and will just fall anyway at the same-ish distance ?
  9. K, so FINALLY my MWS is en route, should arrive tomorrow. Already I am thinking of upgrades and the 1st thing that I want to change is the barrel, it just itches my brain to have 12 cm of nothingness in the outer barrel, so I will go for a Prometheus/Laylax 370 cm 6.03 stainless steel beauty and I would like to kindly ask what changes can I expect ... I am planning to use .25/.28 BBs max, so probably will not change the hopup system. I assume the obvious effect will be an increase in FPS (wo1f was sayin smth about 35-40 for a 6.03 250 mm barrel ?) . How about accuracy, joule creep ? How about gas consumption ? will it go up/down ?other unforeseen consequences ? ... tnx
  10. Tnx for the answers ... so yeah, either stinky MAPP or those "magic" tabs then. Probably going to try the tabs. Meanwhile, my TM M9A1 arrived, pretty pretty pistol Random tip: I got and IMI defense polymer holster for it and it didn't quite fit. It would go in, but forcefully so I fixed it by putting the holster in the oven at 60 C, leaving it a good while and then sliding the gun repeatedly in/out and finishing with putting the holster with the gun in it, in the fridge, for the thing to cool down and retain the new shape. Works perfectly now
  11. found this crazy crazy product: https://www.amazon.de/Warmpack-Zehenwärmer-Wärmepads-Temperaturen-Fußwärmer/dp/B00P10GDRS/ref=pd_bxgy_200_img_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00P10GDRS&pd_rd_r=57e4dd0e-ca49-11e8-ad7e-013f963e194b&pd_rd_w=yGQd5&pd_rd_wg=CSqN3&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_m=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF&pf_rd_p=c16bc8ff-3133-444d-b32d-3575d0da89ee&pf_rd_r=83M4MMA2F3Q29VNRZQB0&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&psc=1&refRID=83M4MMA2F3Q29VNRZQB0 if these work, than it's just about sticking them on the mags, one to each side and should be good will definitely test them. Probably will be laughed at but whatever
  12. Ok, I found something extremely interesting: the video is in German but using google generated English subs does a pretty good job. In short, the guy fills up a gas pistol magazine, with green gas and then injects only a small amount of CO2, using that charger, maybe half a second to a second. Thing is, the result is very very nice and some people on the German Amazon review page for this product were reporting also good performance in cold weather. Any thoughts on this ? Sounds like a miracle cure for my cold weather anxieties
  13. found this pressure chart for MAPP: and comparing this with the Nuprol chart above, it would seem that MAPP is a bit more powerful than Nuprol 3.0 but less powerful than Nuprol 4.0 at 10 C degrees: MAPP 113 psia (psia is psi absolute, which means 124.7 psi at see level because +14.7 atmospheric pressure) Nuprol 3 111 (if it's psi or 125.7 if those figures are in psia) Nuprol 4 136 (if it's psi or 150.7 if those figures are in psia) Any thoughts on this ?
  14. incredibly, I can buy MAPP gas from amazon in Germany ... 13 euros for 750 ml can good to know. Meanwhile, flecktarn in the bathroom (still waiting for the guns... )
  15. I have a question, what is a decent low temperature to use a TM, with the green gas mod, and be able to shoot one full mag of BBs properly, in semi auto mode ? Let's say with green gas/propane (I bought ProTech green gas, any experience with it ? Is it propane lvl or below/above ? ). Would 0-5 degrees (Celsius) be ok ? With let's say mags kept on the chest side of a plate carrier, so hopefully "stealing" some body heat. And I have a crazy idea that pokes at my brain for a while. Does anybody know if somebody tried a CO2 mod for the TM ? Couldn't find anything with google search ... but I was thinking, how about taking a WE/GHK/others CO2 M4 mag, that has the same or a very close shaped outer shell with the TM one and maybe 3D print the inner top part (nylon or similarly strong plastic), so it still fits the original mag systems/shell but now has the upper part of the TM (gas outtake and BB loader lip). It would be necessary to check somehow the output of the valve on a trigger pull to see if it doesn't release too much pressure for the TM to handle and maybe replace it with a valve that has a lower output, if such a valve even exists but ... yeah, what do you guys think about this idea ? P.S.: still waiting for the gun to arrive, hopefully next week.... Later edit: I found this chart for nuprol: Comparing Nuprol 2.0 with this chart https://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/propane-butane-mix-d_1043.html it seems that it behaves like pure propane.
  16. Invader Gear DACC plate carrier, arriving Thursday. Meanwhile, those Marui mag pipes better start trembling
  17. yup, got this one 1,5 kilos ... pfff, also flecktarn because, when in Rome...
  18. Well, I went ahead and bought the stuff, gear and MWS (no sidearm for now) and besides getting over the dizziness of paying that much in one day ... I did a weight estimation, and it seems my beloved gear will weigh about 14.5 kilos (that's about 32 pounds) and if I get the pistol and mags, holster and what not, a red dot and a flashlight I will be at 17 kilos (~37.5 pounds) so .... HOLY SHIT
  19. Thanks guys, awesome "double post"
  20. Sounds fair but about leaving some tubing, a lot of people just remove them completely and personally, I was thinking to cut as short as my future tool that I don't have yet will allow. Yet you say 1cm over the valve would be better ? Basically we're getting slightly into the topic of what that tube actually does. Does it limit the volume ? does it have something to do with the state of the gas inside the mag ? Badabing for example was reporting fps variations in his green gas mod video and some people in the comments were actually saying that the tube regulates the state of the gas inside (liquid/gaseous) .... any insights about this ?
  21. ok, now I got it the valve itself (the 5 mm part - MGG2-84) and the big tube with the large threading (MGG2-83)are two different parts. So for safety, before cutting, perhaps the valve can be unscrewed. (MWS manual below) P.S. : sorry if i'm getting annoying with this subject
  22. yeah, never mind, I don't think they fit, watching Badabing's mag disassembly video and they don't look similar at all. I think they're for the marui pistols ...
  23. Well, apparently it's not so easy to pull out the tubes from the valves, some people resorted to using a vice and other crazy stuff :). And with the cutting, somebody managed to cut too low and damage the valve in the process, that's why I was thinking it's easier/safer to just replace them with shorter ones. Meanwhile, I found this interesting chart: http://gtaassos.forumactif.fr/t974-comparatif-puissance-des-gaz
  24. great topic, waiting to buy my MWS (mainly because I don't know if I will have with whom to play, non german speaker in Germany ...). Until then I started researching in mods so, I found these as a safer/easier alternative for the green gas mod: https://eagle6.co.uk/shop/catalog/product/view/id/575/s/laylax-nineball-magazine-gas-injection-valve-set-black-for-all-gas-series/ I hope they work
