  1. emailed SoF so will see what happens with them first.

Thanks for the link, i have them bookmarked for the inevitable.  they look close enough to me, if only i knew a week or so ago

New photo to show the size of the hole

I have not had the best of luck with these, i also have a size 9 of the same make.  In store they were comfy so i bought them... found out too late that they are too small to run in (guess im a 9.5).   was gonna try and flog them on here soon, but this thread isnt going to be much good for advertising xD

  2. Anyone had experience on returns from breakages?  First time out. Got them on Friday.  And my jungle boots nylon is torn.

I'm guessing because it's happened in use they will say no.  Just a bit gutted.

It's the only upgrade I can think of for my 416D. I don't understand why VFC did away with it in that version... Any suggestions on that other than RA-Tech ?

Not done, but due to my looking at the vfc m16a1 I found this when trying to find out about npas fitting

Seems like it might work, anyone tried this

  4. He regularly goes to games with myself.  No luck on the 3d print. He got a replacement hop unit from firesupport in the end.

Believe the running theory to the snapping arm was an aftermarket nub being too thick.  Don't remember if he shaved the nub or kept it stock though.

But second getting a spare if you plan on tinkering.  Did seem to be a weak point in the design.

Ive just bought a WE M16A3 and an M203 launcher and Handguard set to do a build. If VFC are going to release one, then that’s definitely something I’d be interested in. A USMC style A4 would be great to have as well.

    How is the WE A3?

Does 'first battery swap' mean that you've has it for a short enough amount of time to query a replacement from the retailer?

Sadly no, been well over a year now. It was surprisingly reserved over its battery use.

Hoping to have a go with a friends soldering iron this weekend.

Though from seeing how this one failed, I'm amazed at how weak the bonding was. I'm going to see if I can leave some solder 'welds' to hold the cylinder in assuming I can fix the wire.

If it’s firing on auto when it’s in semi then the lever on the outside of the gearbox needs replacing.  It’s a super simple (and cheap) repair.  I bought a couple of the levers when I got the last one so I had spares but I think they were about £15 each.

nope, it just sometimes doesnt fire at all.  full auto works fine.  semi auto only works some of the time

That could just be the gearbox locking up in semi, and then getting cleared in full auto (that's a thing with some gearboxes - if you spam semi fast enough... someone please jump in to verify)

Nah, it's not during spam firing.  It just doesnt respond sometimes.  It's my oldest AEG, so betting it's the trigger contacts.  Hazy memory of hearing ics l85's develop reliability issues on semi, from when it got taken for chrono at a site just west of Leicester.  It didn't fire on semi for them

  9. Funny, mine also has a fire selector fault, mines unreliable on semi, just doesn't always fire. Full auto works fine though

  10. Would like to go full on 'nam more often, but my prefered eyepro protudes too far from my face to fit (Bolle x800i).  My older set (ASG Strike Protective Tactical Dual Lens) fit, though arnt the best for fog control.

I'd rather something more in the style of the Bolle, but would need to be slim to fit under the lid.  any recommendations or experience with eyepro and this helmet?

LiFe batteries are easier to live with.  They don’t do any of the negative things LiPo’s do if they’re over-discharged or punctured.  I went with LiFe purely because I can charge it in the foregrip without worrying about fire as it would be impossible to get it out in time.

At 9.9V it sits between a 7.4V and 11.1V for RoF and trigger response.

The major downside of LiFe is the energy density as LiPo’s will give more power for the same size, but 1000mah on a 9.9V is more than enough to have acceptable RoF and endurance

i see, so the one you linked, if i pull out the fake gas tube, i guess it fits in there ontop of the barrel?

    Tell a lie, it’s a 1000mah.

    https://www.vapextech.co.uk/99v-1000mah-lifepo4-battery-vapextech-crane-20c-airsoft-1leg

I also changed the motor to a Warhead Black (Standard) which did wonders for battery life and trigger response, as the standard motors very thirsty and not the fastest.

I probably get through about 2000-3000 rounds in a day, and I’ve never had the battery drop below 50%.

now this is of major interest.  though i have not used Life batteries. do they differ from lipo/nimh? i know my smart charger has an option for them.

  13. The A2 Daniel Defence rail doesnt technically fit on the carbine, the bolts that go on the receiver are not spaced the same as the full length version.  Only one bolt can secure it https://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/madbull-dd-l85sa80-rail-adapter-for-ics as the two holes shown in the picture are located a milimetre too narrow or wide, cant remember which...

I have managed to fit it on my carbine, though with one less bolt holding it on as a result.  It seems secure as it has held for 3-4 years so far, though your mileage may vary.

From that, id guess the new one would have a similar issue, so id think maybe not entirely? though i dont know what the mounting system for the A3 is

  14. The added annoyance is that there is a UPS pick up point a mile away at a petrol station.  In the good old TaiwanGun days, pre brexit, countless of their UPS deliveries were placed there while I was at work.  I dont understand why suddenly UPS didnt deposit this one there too.  When I got sent that by my partner once they got home I was convinced it would have been Evri or Yodel.

Then again, beyond the order confirmation email, I was surprised that I got no correspondance from the shop or UPS in regards to it being dispatched etc.

  15. Probably not the worst, but shocked that ups left a rif on the doorstep for an hour this morning.  There is a ups drop off point just down the road too.  Worth mentioning to jdairsoft?
