      There's a reason the forum recommends sending payments via goods and services with PayPal.

       

      Hopefully they get in touch with you but judging by their lack of communication since the sale I'd be surprised. That's always the first red flag in my experience on here.

    Long shot but anybody here have experience with computers? 

     

    Upgraded PC today but it won't load Windows as It's AMD > Ryzen. Will need to format my SSD and reinstall windows on it.

     

    Problem is when I try and boot from either the windows installation disc or a bootable USB it completes 'loading files' and black screens. My keyboard lights shut down too.

     

    Not sure what to do at this point.

      Don't want to jinx myself but ive made progress with the PC..

       

      It no longer black screens at all in any menu. I can get to the Windows installation part but my keyboard and mouse shut down. From what I gather this is a USB 3 - Windows 7 issue.

       

      I'm downloading Windows 10 on a bootable USB and am going to see if this changes things. You can still use Win7 keys to activate Win10 right?

      Mobo is brand new. MSI Mortar. 

       

      Guess that points to an issue with the GPU which is annoying. It's not that old.  

       

      No onboard graphics to test with. 

       

      Everything is mounted correctly.

      Unfortunately I sold all my old parts and, even if I still had them, a lot wouldn't be compatible. 

       

      I just plugged the gpu into another monitor and flickering persists however I can't actually get into the BIOS menu at all now. It just switches between no signal and a black screen.

       

      Works fine on the other screen. So fucking weird.

      Yeah I upgraded from a GTX 960 to an RX 580 pretty much at the end of last year. 

       

      After that I swapped out the PSU few months later to prepare for today and now..

      I've been on this for 6 hours now (fucking hell) and have reseated all my components multiple times. I want to pin it on the GPU as that's literally the only part that isn't new, or purchased within the last few months. In the BIOS menu the screen is constantly flickering and cutting in and out. I can't access advanced options without a black screen. Still doesn't explain why the keyboard lights cut out though.. 

       

      I've since formatted my SSD on the home computer and, with all other storage disconnected, tried again to get past the black screen but it just persists - annoying!

       

      Can't even take it to our local PC shop as they're closed until the 2nd lol.

    The LED on my CompM4 replica isn't lighting up when the dial is turned. Cleaned the contacts and tried with a fresh AA and nothing. 

     

    So I'm guessing it's an electrical problem. Does anybody know if it's fixable or do I have an expensive paperweight right now?

    Stripped one of the screws holding the motor to the gearbox. Any decent ways of getting the bugger out?

      Got the bugger open finally. There's shards of bevel all over the place!

       

      Think I'm either gonna buy up some CYMA parts from a listing here or some SHS 13:1 gears from @ak2m4.

      Cheers guys. I'm having a real bugger of a time working on this gun but learning how to work on gearboxes is something I've been meaning to do for a while now - I've heard LCT are one of the easier ones to start off on. 

       

      Everything is really damn stiff and I'm concerned that I'm gonna go break something even when I'm just following a video. 

       

      I'm using pliers to gently twist the screw out bit by bit. Suffice to say this screw is completely fucked :lol:

      If you live in a city I bet you'll have a few tailors dotted about town. Have a look online and see if you've got any close to you and drop it off personally. If you explain what you're after they should be able to tell you if it's something they're able to do and quote you a price.
