  1. I've actually been looking at the WE M4A1 for my first rifle. It seems quite nice and the price tag looks very reasonable. It also has good reviews, from what I've read anyway.
  2. I guess it's a matter of our personal likes. I think they look pretty neat. Thank you for the clarification. I appreciate this! o7 Sorry for the hi-jacking of the thread.
  3. To be honest, I think some two tones look pretty cool. However, I do have a question. What's stopping someone getting a two tone and respraying the coloured parts to a nice tan colour? Is that frowned upon at all? For example...
  4. This is exactly what I did, when I rolled up as a lone ranger. People will chat to you. I was fairly nervous too. But, do turn up earlier, it also helps you familiarize yourself with the folks running the event and your new surroundings (home?). That first day can be a bit overwhelming, but when you get into the game and your having fun in the field and working with your team it will all come together (it was the afternoon for me). Forgive yourself of any mistakes or lapses (dumb moments). People will laugh them off It's all just good honest fun! By the end of the day some guys were saying, "hold this, pull the trigger!" "How'd you like the kick?" "Have a look through the scope!" "You think you'll come back!?" "Nice try storming that shack like you're Rambo, shame it didn't work out, Lolz." I had a really good first experience. I'm sure you will too. ...roll on Saturday (2nd game day ) !!
  5. Do it, just go for it. At least try it. If you're going to turn up at a site on your lonesome, fear not. I did it and got chatting to the characters that were regulars. Everyone was very welcoming. I even met up with Fumps there. I went for very similar reasons, to get into a new hobby, to have something to look forward to, get outside and get some exercise, whilst having an excuse to blow my wage I would say at least go once to see if you like it. But, be prepared to start shopping the minute you walk back through the door after your first skirmish I've had one game day and have been counting the minutes to my second. Which is Saturday. It's simply so much fun. But, I wouldn't say that there are no dangers involved. Any active hobby/sport have dangers. So, one newbie to another. Book yourself in, get your hire gun and have fun! Let us know how your first time goes
  6. The update could be interesting. I'm still making my way to 30. Almost 25 now. Also starting to find the encounters more difficult in solo play. Really fun game! Would be nice to team up with some people around this level if possible. I'm on xb1.
  7. Thanks for the advice. Will do!
  8. That could have ended with a potential serious injury. It's sort of the old chaos theory. The mag should not have been inserted at all in the safe zone. This warrants that there is no danger whatsoever. What if he did switch the safety off? If the rules of the site were being followed properly, there would have been no fear at all of any probable dangers of some kid acting irresponsible. Yes, he should have not acted like that in any way. But, providing ammunition as an asset to that scenario is down to you, i'm afraid. It is your firearm and you should maintain complete responsibility for it at all times. However, luckily no-one was harmed. So, water under the bridge and a lesson to heed. Also, using your kit without your knowing is bang out of order!
  9. I just hit Level 10, but I have no Xbox live gold to get into the DZ. I'm considering buying just a month to give it a blast.Sounds like fun in there!
  10. Suzuki GSF 650 K6 Bandit. The Naked Version.
  11. I've not entered the Dark Zone yet, as I am still only level 7. Taking my time exploring places. Also, no Xbox Live Gold at the moment. It's either that or a Skirmish next weekend. I'm going with a skirmish
  12. Hey guys, Anyone playing The Division release? Been in it the past few days and it's grabbed me by the hoohahs. I don't usually have time for mmo style games, but this is...this is just pretty cool. What do you think? Be cool to maybe group with some fellow airsofters once I get my live gold back. Yep, I'm running solo at the moment. Oh yeah, on XB1 too.
  13. Welcome! I have only just had my first game day and believe me...if it grabs you by the hoohah's on that first run you're in trouble. I've thrown some money at face protection and clothing first before the guns and I'm waiting for the postie like a hungry dog. Seriously cannot wait to get to the next game. So, free up a day, and just go. Pay for the hire gear and I guarantee you go home with a big smile on your face. Airsoft is so much fun!!! Welcome to the money sink PS. Oh if you're somewhat down on exercise (i'm not saying you are), I pre warn you. It took me 5 days for my legs to return to a normal state. Literally, and I mean literally. Not in a loose sense.
  14. I'm pretty good with photoshop. But, as proffrink said. Illustrator could be a better suit. But, I don't have that. Send me a PM if you need it looking at!
  15. Damn, sorry mate. But...I'm not quite ready to talk about "that" first experience yet... Definitely, I can't wait!! I did actually wonder about that. Whether going to different sites counts. But I was unsure about they would go about keeping track. I will definitely like to check out Black Hills, but this weekend is too close. I spent a considerable amount on Saturday and I have also picked up some of my own gear in the past few days. Face protection etc.. I was thinking of hanging in at Matlock until I can get my UKARA and going from there. There are many sites I would like a pop at.
  16. I thought I would leave a post here about my first ever Airsoft game, I do hope that it's ok here in general. I figured it is general but if you consider it not being, I apologise. I'd also like to thank everyone who replied to my thread about preparing for your first day at an airsoft game (http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/30124-first-game-prep-what-to-take/) As my girlfriend was at work on Saturday and my friends didn't exactly show much enthusiasm with giving this a go. I went at it alone. Which to be honest, was pretty nerve wracking. I didn't know what to expect. Girlfriend: "Aren't you nervous about going there on your own tomorrow? Me: "Nah, it's just a laugh and to get outside, blow off some steam and get some excercise." Yeah, I was nervous. So, I'd like to thank Fumps for sending me a pm here and meeting me on site to ease my transition and give me a little refuge should I need it. Once I was there we got organised into our teams, and I was still feeling a little shy. Our first game was like a death match kind of affair with zombies thrown in, if I recall correctly. The second game was something new that they haven't tried before, which ended in a little confusion. I had problems with my rifle, and the marshalls swapped it out for a different one without any trouble at all. I got lost in the woodland, fell over, stumbled around, ran out of ammo, and yes...got shot at. A lot. By the time afternoon arrived, I was settled. High on adrenaline and talking with many new faces. I felt like I found a role within our team. I basically gave support fire and played medic. Which I think helped keep our team on track for our objectives. Instead of them having to run back to regen/respawn, I specifically made an effort to locate those who were shouting for a medic on our team. In turn keeping up our advance. It was a buzz. I kind of enjoyed this particular role. Even though I wasn't particularly concerned whether we win or lose. It's just so much fun! Top 3 Dumbass Moments: 3. Getting lost on the way back to my regen/respawn point 2. Charging into a built up area "all rambo" and wound up getting full autoed by 2/3 opponents 1. Advancing under the cover fire of a team mate, and moving into said line of fire and getting shot in the back. It was great to hear from the folks and the marshalls that I played well all in all. It was a very positive experience. One of the best days I've had and met some cracking people. So, I guess what I am saying is that, if you are new and you're going it alone. Just do it! You'll have a blast and meet some fine folks. My legs are still aching like hell 3 days later, but I can't wait to get back in the field. The bug has bit and I'm now shopping...so... ...at least I get some excersise Sorry for the long read! o7
  17. Hi, congratulations on getting close to your UKARA. I just came from my first game on Saturday. Had a great day and the bug bit hard. My legs are still aching, so the exercise factor is definitely there. Welcome!!
  18. Fumps - Will do! Lafta - I have both scarf and gloves. Thanks. I forgot to type them down in my last post.
  19. Ok, I'm about sorted guys. Thanks so much for your info, advice and help. I really appreciate it. I think I'm going to go with the beanie for now, as the baseball cap I do have is bright blue and quite a sought after piece of clothing due to where it's from. I don't wish to ruin it. My grey hoodie and brown faux leather jacket, and some jeans (not fussed if they get ruined, they're old anyway). If the bug does bite (it sort of already has through watching vids and reading up some) I'm sure I will be putting more into gear. Many, many thanks for opting in here to help a fellow newbie. I really appreciate the welcome!
  20. Ha, ok nice. I'll look out for you. Looking forward to it
  21. Oh nice. I'll look out for you if you're going on Saturday. I'll be on a 650cc Suzuki Bandit. I'll be sure to introduce myself. Thanks for the welcome!! Really, thanks for all your info guys. Very welcoming of you all!!
  22. Thanks for all the input folks. I have gloves and actually thought about using my motorcycle trousers. They're black textile with protective pads. Waterproof and very comfortable/durable. I will also be taking water and snacks. Lunch is included in the fee. Thanks again for your comments. Looking forward to it
  23. Hey guys, I'll be booking myself in for a game on Saturday at Matlock Combat Games. The thing is, as my friends don't seem so interested, I'll be going alone. So, a few nerves are setting in. What should I take on my first ever skirmish? I have a good set of multi cam boots, but no camo clothing that will be of use. As the trousers I do have are pretty much ruined as I use them for work. Other than that I have your standard denim jeans and general casual clothing that I could wear. But I'm concerned about standing out in the woodland. Hats? A black beanie type. Or...should I first invest in some decent clothing and put off the first run for another fortnight? I just want to get there and have a go really and see if it scratches my hobbyist itch. Oh...yes, I'll be using hire gear on arrival. Kind Regards!
  24. Thanks for the welcome guys! I'm looking forward to that first game!
  25. Hey guys, I thought I would sign up here having recently discovered this particular sport. I am from Chesterfield, Derbyshire, 32 years old and I have just got off the phone from Mick at Matlock Combat Games. I am looking to hopefully book onto the 5th of March skirmish to see how I can handle it. With rental gear to begin with, and my first ever shoot. I have never done airsoft or paintball before. But, airsoft seems to appeal to me more with using replica weaponry and tactics. I've always had an interest in military activities, so I think I should get into this fairly well. I also need a new hobby If anyone goes to Matlock, it would be great to hear from you. So, well...Hi Thanks!
