Thanks very much for the quick response - I am not even sure how he managed to reverse polarity with the mini tamiya connector. Must have tried very hard to get those connected!

Do Marui offer any sort of factory repair service for these occasions?

Possibly used a "non airsoft" mini tamiya battery with the traditional positive/negative wiring (why the frick airsoft has reverse polarity mini tamiya is beyond me)

He would need to go to the shop he bought it off, they would need to go to the distributor who will need to go back to TM, once its been inspected, at his cost. Possibly the distributor will keep it as a spare part gun for anything else that goes funky on another gun out the box but its down to them. Based on your description, unless he bought the battery with the gun, it is unlikely to be a warranty claim. I say this as my mp5 cooked itself out the box, but i bought 2 batteries with the gun and used those one specifically with the gun to inspect it, so it could be a friday afternoon lemon. Had to fight with the retailer for about a week to get a replacement.

Could he buy a second hand one to use or salvage, and keep the broken one until an aftermarket fet is available or a work around is created.

  2. Competition helps.

VFC, GHK and WE were pretty much the only GBBR's in modern form for a good while. They could dictate what was good enough to get by. Then TM comes along and plants it's flag in the ground, and became the yard stick.

Other companies seeing what happened with the release of the VSR10 and Hi capa (i.e. pretty much making every other design in that product space obsolete overnight) have to step up. VFC come out with the mk3 versions of GBBRs as well as the m249 and vector, and know that they can't do their usual thing of let things slide for a few production batches and fix it later.

GHK come out with a new glock but also shit the bed on the ARs. WE are doing things, not all great, but still things.

Meanwhile TM are happy to make a basic but effective GBBR and re-release it in a different colour every 9 months and print money in the process, knowing that the aftermarket parts cover for any minor flaws they have.

  3. I think there is a market now for more "upmarket" guns - look at the tm mk46, the GBLS, Silverback HTI's, VFC m249 and so on. It just needs a company to bite the bullet and make something with a thin margin, or eye watering price tag.

I suppose it's like when people say "I want a 2 seater, v6, manual, RWD, British made car". Then someone decides to, spunks millions in manufacturing. And then sells about 14 of them, whilst everyone who piped up goes and buys a Golf.

Agree, his so called "popularity" must be close to it's expiration date.

Speaks volumes though for the site owners integrity, or lack of it. 🤬

Lets put it another way - would people watch his videos and defend him if he got into rugby purely to try and high tackle people? Or football if his aim was to two-foot lunge everyone in sunday league (albeit this happens anyway)? Would people still want to play in a league that allowed this to carry on?

  5. JK army have said street date of early December in HK.

Must’ve been working on this a while as KWA took the ball and went home with all the blueprints for the internals. Despite it not being their ball.

    well that esculated quickly....

All the mags I have (DE, GM and TM) all work fine however the gas routers on the DE seem stiffer than the GM router. Might try some GM gas routers in the DE mag to try to make them better. Only internal mod is a Flamingo hop rubber in both.

I've got a RA Tech NPAS here which I might pair with a longer inner barrel to try to increase accuracy at range but keep the Joules down.

Thanks for the first impressions. Where did you get it? Seems hard to find in stock, most UK retailers are awaiting stock/pre-order.  I'm trying to convince myself that I can deal with the downsides as it does look the business, but thinking just spend more at the beginning to get a VFC (although I'll likely have to import one, which I've not done before).

I was poking around last night and a couple of shops have pre-order eta's at the end of this week, so maybe the wholesaler is getting a delivery imminently?
