Latest update on the TM MTR16 Still waiting for my 7" handguard and barrel, suppressor & a couple other bits to arrive, but @Wo1f has supplied me with this Dytac Geissele 9.5" one in the meantime (as well as a buffer tube, thank you 😁) SBA3 clone seems solid enough to hold a sling until my PTS sling plate arrives. Still gotta change the optic but this is the only one I have for now Progress!

My first gun was an AEG & sold it promptly to buy a GBB. Many years have since gone by and have gone through many GBBs. COST & WEIGHT If you are considering that route, please keep in mind that the magazines can be very expensive (~£50 each), as well as weighty. Due to the low capacity, you will probably want about 4 - 6, depending how trigger happy you are. The price & weight definitely add up from the mags alone. Personally, I go for second hand packages that already come with mags for a greatly discounted price vs new, but buying second hand has it's cons. MAINTAINENCE Maintaining a GBB is not too hard - I would prefer to maintain a GBB as opposed to an AEG. As mentioned above, YouTube is your best friend. Keep the metal on metal contact areas oiled/greased & clean. BRANDS I heavily recommend sticking to TM & GHK. If on a budget, pick up the GHK G5. Otherwise, a TM MWS/MTR16 or a GHK M4 will do you good. Wouldn't recommend the GHK AK as their hop unit seems to have issues more often than not. There are other options available if you aren't feeling the M4, such as the GHK AUG or TM Type 89. TM & GHKs are built brilliantly which is often reflective of their price. You will find other expensive GBBs from companies such as VFC - I recommend steering clear of them. Their price comes from their incredible externals and licensing, not their durability or performance (hell, my 416a5 doesn't even work & hasn't even seen a skirmish!). WE Tech is budget friendly & they have a wide variety, but they are made of cheese, both inside and out. You will be on MilspecSolutions or KYAirsoft shopping for parts, which will eventually add up. I have owned many WEs due to their selection, but ends the same way. There are many other brands offering GBBs, but again, I recommend TM or GHK. GAS Green gas is expensive, I recommend buying regular propane & keeping the gun & mags oiled. ALTERNATIVES TM & KWA offer recoil AEGs. The recoil isn't anything to write home about but it is a good compromise. Steer very clear of the GBLS DAS GDR15! Very cool concept, but they seem to spend more time with a tech trying to get them to work than they do with their owner, which is ridiculous considering the cost. TL;DR Mags are expensive & heavy. Maintaining them isn't too hard, YouTube helps. Stick to TM or GHK.

Looks familiar, doesn't it 🤣 Probably 7 inch barrel & m lok handguard combo, PDW type stock, suppressor to cover the remaining inner barrel and a Magpul MVG. Might change the pistol grip too. Basically, the opposite of a normal MTR! All still up in the air for now though!

Same! Kinda... And so the build begins! Must decide on what to do. Need to replace the buffer tube also, bit of a weird one as it doesn't screw in more than 3 revolutions. Not even sure if it is a TM tube Wanted to use the MTR as a base for a while now

I purchased a lot - TM MTR16 GBB (I will be making this a SBR) - Umarex/VFC HK416A5 GBB (looks nice, more trouble than it is worth though) - Lots of Warrior kit. Bought a FRV Tailoring shooters belt too but will stick with the WAS belt instead.

Haley Strategic D3 Chest Rig, with D3 expansion/drop down pouch & D3 Flat Pack in lovely multicam black, with 4x MP2 inserts! Bought a while back but forgot to show. The pack is especially cool, can go from really low profile to a normal sized backpack in seconds! Love having the rig and pack together, very convenient. Definitely my favourite bit of gear. Unfortunately it will be getting sold as I am selling up!

I present you with my thing. Many years ago, I bought a UFC G36 3.5x scoped carry handle (this scope has seen some shit, pun intended) & absolutely butchered it with a saw to remove the mounting points (a blindfolded monkey could have done better), before using epoxy to stick it to various red dot rail mounts I had 😂 In terms of it being a carry handle, I trust it about as much as a wet fart, but surprisingly it works exceptionally well as an optic. Probably one of the more ghetto things I have done for airsoft, thought I had thrown it away many moons ago! Well, here it is on my SCAR 🤣 I suppose it can sit there until I buy an optic for it... The Vector foregrip will not reside there permanently either.

Any suggestions or tricks on how to get this bloody thing off the MTR 16? Got the first 2 bits off but this 3rd bit must be married to the barrel threads. Been trying for ages but don't think it has moved one bit. Tried heating it but to no avail

Suppose so 😁 I'm sure there is a reason they're as sought after & reputable as they are, maybe I will pick up some normal G3s some time (if the price is right), but TMC will do me for now! They did look solidly put together though, will give them that

Bought & sold them straight away, Crye Precision G3 All Weather Combat Pants 🧐 At least they hold their resale value I suppose. I honestly prefer my TMC G3 clones in every way, strangely enough! Maybe I am just weird 😅

This belongs to a friend who isn't on the forum and the build isn't completed yet but I just thought it was bloody brilliant 😂 a nice unique GBB UMP. He's no stranger to these types of custom projects either, but must say I find them interesting! Will post a pic when it's finished too

Bought me some Crye kneepads as I misplaces my other ones, incredibly happy with them! Also bought 4x Warrior Assault Systems 7.62 pouches to accommodate my SCAR mags & also a Nuprol hard case & Magpul MS1 sling, for said SCAR. Lastly, bought some Revision Sawfly glasses, thought I'd give those a go. Only got a picture of the pads at the moment, but loving the purchases! Not sure if I should have the pouches on my belt or invest in another chest rig, will have to see.
