The 'What have you just bought' Thread

I will let you know A friend of mine told me about it and said it absolutely transforms the gun. Somehow increases the recoil and RoF (to about 1000rpm) simultaneously. There is also a video on YouTube of the kit by Hephaestus if you are interested

Bits for upcoming PTS Masada build: - Elcan SpectreDR 1-4x - Mini red dot mount for the SpectreDR - Mini red dot for the mount for the SpectreDR (see the theme?) - 180mm x 30mm 14mm Ccw/Cw suppressor - Magpul PTS MOE RVG - Magpul PTS ranger plates (box of 10) - Hephaestus recoil kit for PTS Masada Still waiting for the PTS aluminium rail to arrive, should be here tomorrow. Probably a month for the rest of the stuff. and that concludes my spending for a while. Well, until I see something I want, I suppose. I have an addiction. Help.

    Tokyo Marui scar H woes

Don't slam the stock into the fixed position and you will be fine. Just press the button (as you would when you are folding it) and put the stock back into place. Should be no issues that way. If it does break, at least you can use the stock as a boot.
  4. Time to search for another Elcan SpectreDR 😫 I gotta stop selling them

Where can I get my outer barrel shortened

Got a similar issue, don't fancy paying £125 for an outer barrel 🤐 Even then, this barrel is still about an inch too long for the project I have in mind... If you find a service, I will also be interested

The 'What have you just bought' Thread

I bought a WE MSK GBBR but then also bought a PTS/KWA Masada GBBR as the WE isn't exactly a performer. Also bought a CQB barrel for the WE. But yeah, the PTS is of much higher quality. Waiting for a PTS aluminium rail to arrive and a Hephaestus recoil kit for the PTS. First pic is of the PTS on the wall of ProAirsoftSupplies, just before buying it. PTS on top in second pic, WE on bottom

    Experience with J.K.ARMY?

Same thing - item in stock on site but order cancelled due to actually being out of stock. Refunded the next day. This happened a couple of days ago. Ordered from them three times before with no issue though.

    RedWolfAirsoft HK delivery times

I ordered 3 GBB mags from RW HK a few months ago. Also got held (a week after ordering) and had to fill out a firearms declaration form. Filled the form out but had to explain to them over the phone (twice, the first rep must have hung the phone up due to not understanding) that I had not ordered a firearm and that the magazines did not have a firing mechanism. Absolute pain in the ass. Took a few days for everything to go back to normal and for my mags to be released. Then of course, the lovely letter demanding the handling fees and whatnot to be paid arrived soon after. Could have bought another mag with the cost of that
  10. Anyone know how much modification is required to fit a PTS Masada handguard onto a WE MSK?

      M_P

I only ever put 7-8 mags through it max, then never used after that so it sat for a long time before I sold it so can't really comment on that side of things I'm afraid

Not particularly a fan of it and I believe it is AEG  (I only use GBB). ACR stock is my favourite and the PTS rail reminds me of a 416 in terms of the shape. Got the MSK today, just waiting on the CQB barrel and rail now :) Very happy so far

    Interesting/unique GBBRs?

Right, so I sold all my guns and it feels weird (basically, I want another). However, I am stuck for choice. I usually like the more unique, interesting or obscure guns, do you have any recommendations or favourites which may fall into this category? As per the title, it must be a gas blowback, not AEG. Preferably one that also had a lot of customisation available (that is the most enjoyable aspect of airsoft for me). So far, I have had (for at least a month): *6x KWA Kriss Vectors (various builds) 2x Umarex/VFC HK G28 Umarex/VFC HK417 ARES DSR-1 *GHK/Ratech M4 (built from ground up) GHK M4 (standard) GHK AK74MN GHK G5 *ASG/KWA MP9 3x WE KAC PDWs WE HK416 WE SCAR H 3x Umarex/KWA MK23s 3x TM G17 (2x RWA Agency Arms versions) TM G18C WE G17 WE G18C * marked ones were the favourites which I regret selling - MP9 was especially cool. I am sure I am forgetting some (it is 05:20 am) and there are a few others but I won't mention as I owned them for about a week or so before selling them, usually for being absolutely crap. From owning the above, I have realised that I much prefer shorter, lighter and generally more CQB oriented guns. That being said, I do like DMR/sniper length stuff like the G28 or DSR-1, but just find them impractical. So, are there any guns that I may find of interest that you may know of? 🤔 Not particularly a fan of bullpups, especially the L85 series (I find them rather unappealing aesthetically). I was contemplating a (very expensive) TM MWS SBR custom build, but it would still just be an AR afterall. Also thought about an ACR/Masada (I only got to play with a WE MSK briefly). The WE M14 crossed my mind too but isn't exactly short, nor light. Thank you!

    Interesting/unique GBBRs?

Not a fan of bullpups unfortunately but I agree, it is most definitely unusual 😅 I have secured the MSK and have purchased a CQB barrel setup, here's to hoping it works! Now just need to get a few more WE MSK/Pmags. Also, attachments 🤔

    Interesting/unique GBBRs?

I was lucky with my receiver set, it was a direct drop in for everything with no modification, but I heard of many others having issues. RATech's tolerances must be all over the place! I was looking at their MSK trigger box to be honest. I have not seen those nozzles but that sounds incredibly interesting! Bloody hoping this thing works, seems hit and miss from the YouTube videos
  14. BigBlackGlock

    Interesting/unique GBBRs?

Seeing this picture always makes me wanna build another 😓 Here is the parts list from when I sold it: RATech receiver New Age ejection port cover New Age Forward assist Hephaestus flat trigger Spear arms ambi fire selector Magpul fixed MOE Carbine Magpul PRS extended pad Magpul MOE pistol grip Magpul Enchanced trigger guard SVOBODA front end (KAC AAC URX 3.0 Rail, steel outer barrel, gas block, gas tube, KAC AAC steel flash hider) Magpul PTS m4-2000 suppressor DYTAC URX covers Xtm handstop RATech steel bolt GHK 1j nozzle Elcan SpectreDR w/ Docter sight RATech magic body pin Element PEQ 15 MP7 sights Other GHK externals (buffer tube, mag release, FCG etc) Samoon bilateral charging handle FGA heavy buffer FGA recoil spring RATech winter spring PDI 6.05 375mm inner Madbull blue bucking GHK G5 magazine GHK GMAG x3 Magpul ranger plates x3 I also had a 3D printed aluminium Seekins style bolt release, but that turned up a week after I sold the M4 (forgot I had ordered it from the US). Agreed again @Wo1f, the SCAR H magazines were immensely good! I am hoping the WE MSK/Pmags are better than the average STANAG, but I severely doubt it.
  15. BigBlackGlock

    Interesting/unique GBBRs?

Pretty much hit the nail on the head there @Wo1f! I managed to find a WE MSK and a couple of potential fixes to the issues they inherently seem to have. If all else fails, I am sure it will make a nice wall hanger 😂 WE sure do have a wide variety but it is just a shame they aren't too good. I suspect the MSK will also require aftermarket internals to actually do anything that it is supposed to. I am definitely keeping an eye on GHK's recent activities, that is for sure. The MSK didn't set me back too much, so I may also still be able to look into something like an Mp7 in the meantime. Thank you!
  16. BigBlackGlock

    Interesting/unique GBBRs?

WE MSK is definitely a strong contender and I especially love the ACR stock (had one on my SCAR H). Love GHK but not bullpups unfortunately (wish GHK made a wider range of guns!). MP7 is an excellent suggestion (Reminds me of the good old days of Call of Duty 😆), but never know which to get between the VFC, TM, WE or KWA (unsure which is 1:1 scale, which has full travel bolt, most reliable, etc). Edit: It seems the MSK has been discontinued and is a PITA to find in stock

    TM pistols

TM pistols don't have to be plastic, there are so many companies that offer aftermarket slides and whatnot (pretty much every internal and external piece on their G17 series has an aftermarket "upgrade", for example). Ace1Arms, Guarder, RWA, etc... make metal slides (varying prices, Guarder usually offering some of the cheaper ones). Buy these from Asian retailers, not the UK, unless you want to pay a lot more than needed. Better to just wait the extra 2 or 3 days for shipping from HK, for example (everyone seems to have it stuck in their mind that shipping from Asia takes 20 years...). For CQB, you will not need to touch it internally as a stock TM will perform more than well enough. If you want better accuracy, the Maple Leaf hop unit and inner barrel set are a fantastic investment. These were my ones - TM G17 base.

    Custom setups

Requests feedback, does not read it. Maybe you will make a good airsoft company afterall 🙄 Did you want actual feedback, or just praise? Regarding your "I will sell it all for £90 or they can buy it individually for £90" thing (loosely quoted), you are forgetting something important, which is covered in the second part of my "Bible" which you didn't bother reading. Retailers are always having promotions and discount codes. That £90 will very often be reduced drastically, whereas yours will stay £90 (assuming you manage to source everything cheap enough to make a 40% profit). I will keep this one short.

    Custom setups

Apply this idea to another context and you will see why you are getting the responses you are. Imagine heading down to your local supermarket and suddenly, some random bawbag comes up to you and says "I'll pick up all ye shopping and put them in carrier bags for ya and leave it at the till for you to pay. Just pay me an extra 40% of the cost of your shopping". The fact that you want 40% more for getting a few bits together and weaving a bit of MOLLE, which will almost definitely just get picked apart and rearranged on receipt, is laughable. The only time I have seen something like this work is when UKTactical offer "premade" setups, such as their 5.56 Warrior DCS carrier (comes with a few 5.56 pouches and utility pouches or something), or their similar belt setups. The reason they would sell is because they were considerably cheaper than buying it all separately. Not because they put a 40% mark up on it. Even then, UKTactical almost always have either a 10% or 20% discount code active to bring the cost down further - it is rarer to see their stock at normal price. Furthermore, the DCS is also not some random unbranded or cloned carrier from China and UKTactical/Warrior Assault Systems are very highly reputable companies. A 40% increase for a Chinese JPC and couple of pouches will not be popular. You would have to order in large quantities to even get a small discount from a supplier, which would be a massive investment. There are very few money making options for those looking to start an airsoft business. Good examples include services people actually need/want, such as bespoke Kydex holsters or 3D printed parts. Adding a triple M4 pouch to a plate carrier at a higher price when you could just use the search bar and add those two items to your basket on any other website is not a good example. Long story short; it will only work if you are working for the airsoft community, instead of milking them for considerably more money than required. Majority are on a tight budget as it is. As aforementioned, kit buying is usually two-stage. Cheap China crap -> Gucci gear. Very few will opt for a "bundle of cheap China crap at a higher price" between those stages. Unless you happen to draw in a brand new player with more money than usual, that is. It is already bad enough with UK companies importing a $20 plate carrier and then listing them for £50, or something like that. Personally, I would not buy a premade setup. A big part of airsoft for me is customising my gear to my exact specifications and I doubt you would stock much that is desirable, because the Gucci side can be picky and expensive. I have given my opinion, which I rarely do, but it is 5:48am and I can't get back to sleep. By now, you may notice that it is not a particularly popular idea, judging from these responses. Take all this on board because, to put it simply, AF-UK is one of the last places made up of genuine and decent airsoft players; you would probably be laughed out of an airsoft Facebook community, for instance (after a considerable amount of piss-taking with no real feedback). If an airsofter wants a bundle setup, they will most likely just go to the classifieds and buy a second hand setup for much cheaper than it would all cost brand new. Best of luck. Edit: To be honest, if I saw this service a few years ago, I would use it. Just not how you would expect. I would browse the premade setups and then just Google the individual components and buy then elsewhere for cheaper, assuming I saw something I liked. Unfortunately, this is just a service that pretty much no one in the airsoft community has actively requested.

I wish it were that simple but I usually build my guns rather than buy them, and the project must be an interesting one 😥 I have ran out of ideas, however, and gas blowbacks (only guns I am interested in) are limited in variety

    Trigger response in gas pistol

Even though I hate AEGs, I am still considering getting an ARP-9 😅 I think it just looks cool. Trigger pull was one of the reasons I sold both of my KWA MK23s. To echo Rocket, stick an adjustable trigger into your 18c if you really want a super short trigger pull. I just do not think that the MK23 is the platform for a short trigger pull unfortunately

    Best CQB gun, a pistol?

Agree with @Prisce I ran dual TM G17s (albeit once) and it was great fun. I have since gone back to just one G17. Carry 2 50rnd extended mags and about 5 standard mags, had absolutely no issues and finished with ammo to spare. Excellent choice if you are looking to run around as your setup will be very light and compact. I do not have any issues with temperature as mentioned above - I run my mags with Nuprol 2.0 most of the time, or 3.0 if it is unusually cold. Something something TM magic dust 😅 Only recommendation would be to install silent fill o-rings which the amazing @rocketdogbert introduced me to. Stops gas spraying everywhere when you fill the mags. If you are REALLY set on using a pistol but don't fancy running your nuts off, then you can buy either a collapsible glock stock, glock buffer tube adapter or a carbine kit if you prefer to shoulder it and move slower.

Making a Royal Mail claim? Value?

Submitting international claims are a PITA. Up to 90 days for investigation and even then, it may not be successful! If it is successful, then they send you the details and payment via mail - this will also probably get lost in transit 🙄 I did have a similar issue some months ago with the whole GLS thing and it seems to happen because the parcel was "violated"/tampered with - this happens often, according to the post office clerk. Their support staff are also clueless as I remember calling on three separate occasions before making a claim and received three completely different and conflicting answers; goes without saying, none of the answers were of any use. I suppose they were just trying to avoid saying "I have no fecking clue and do not give a shite" 😅 Best of luck with your claim. Edit: For proof of value, I just took a screenshot of the PayPal transaction. Edit 2: Return addresses seem to be meaningless, I don't think I have ever had something returned by RM.
