  1. As a bush, I say the rules apply to all. If I can wear it on my ankle, the non bushes can too. If I can hide it with my gear, they can too. Then it's a personal choice with its consequences. I never wear it on my ankle, I'd get friendly fired too much, but I do prefer blue over red. I do see it too many times that it is explicitly said to be an armband and non ghillies wear it on the front of their vest's shoulder strap. It's not about being in ghillie, it's about being a certain type of person.

I tend to take Google reviews with a pinch of salt as I've been to sites with great reviews which have turned out to be shit and vice versa

  3. Been a while since I’ve bought anything other than ammo, but here’s my last few purchases. I also picked up a Colt Canada castle nut for my L119A1 from LCS but that’s not a very exciting photo. Black Crye UBACS Holy Warrior RMR and canted RMR mount Swatcom Activ8 Neckband Headset (ordered some Sordin Supreme Pros and got these as a free upgrade, can’t complain)

  4. The UKARAs GDPR policy does not say that data is collected/held solely for retail sales. https://ukara.org.uk Paragraphs 5,6&7 cover access to data. 5 covers the primary use for retailers to validate a sale 6 covers the Border Agency etc for validating imports 7 can cover validation of private sales 5.The system is designed to allow retailer members of UKARA to verify the legal status of purchasers, to comply with the relevant section of the Violent Crime Reduction Act as related to Realistic Imitation Firearms. 6.The system can also be accessed on an individual look up basis by the UK Boarder Agency to allow player imports of RiFs & 24/7 Intelligence department, Hampshire Police also in reference to imports. All retained data is accessible to the administrator and programming technical staff. 7.Any other third-party access to data would only be permitted when the terms of the Data-Protection act have been for-filled for legal access requirements. For GDPR data must be held and used for valid purposes, in the case of UKARA data it must be shared in an appropriate manner to validate sales. Arguably a UKARA registered member could complain that confirm/deny is not made for a private sale - eg I get registered, I try to buy a RIF in classifieds and give my number & postcode to the seller. If the UKARA or site refused to acknowledge then I could complain under the GDPR that they are holding my details but not using it to validate my status

We have a lot of regulars on our site, first name terms, hanging around to help pack up at the end of day, good banter etc. All of whom get a regular sneaky test-shot to keep them in check , we show no favouritism when we are out in the playing fields. It would kill the growth of the site. Players who were regulars, who didn’t like it, soon fekked off! ”invited to play elsewhere” I believe is the appropriate term we had just over 90 players on sunday Two who ignored their second test-shot (after a warning of ignoring the first) of the day were awarded a 4 week ban. If they do come back and cheat again it’s a permanent ban for them. (these were new to us rental players) This obviously got around that we take no prisoners when it comes to cheating, not a bad whisper to get around the rest of the players on site. Ruins it for everyone else. And we also split up equally the rental players , new walk-ons , and experienced players to give a nice spread of ability. Most of our regulars have no quibble when it comes to swapping sides to even things up if they can see it’s going to balance things out ability wise, but it also gives them a bit of a challenge to help turn the tide of a constantly losing side. Fresh Marshals who play but aren’t in a “Team” have also helped out a lot. And we have steadily seen our numbers increase from a regular 30 ish last year to now 80+ every fortnight Steadily bringing in players from further afield

  6. Exactly; that is what I find hard to understand. "Normal" players are supposed to wear their armband where it is clearly visible, whereas, in many cases, it is ok to conceal it once you start dressing as a shrubbery.

  7. Sorry but if you put it on your ankle then your trying to hide it , which in my book = cheating . Unless your playing on a tennis court 75% of the time it’s going to be concealed by the general plant life on site when your moving around , and unless your chosen shooting style is that of rifleman Plunkett shooting General Colbert during the retreat to Corunna then your legs will DEFINITELY be out of sight when your shooting from under cover .

  10. The Heckler & Koch PSG1, Präzisionsschützengewehr 1, is one of the most unique, iconic and interesting looking sniper rifles in the world. I have wanted a GBBR variant since long before one existed. The VFC PSG1 sells for about 1250€ in Sweden, And with it being listed as a limited production item I honestly did not think I would be able to ever buy one. I'm posting this partly as motivation for others who feel the same way. Today marks the start point of a dream of many years. I'll be posting threads from time to time about updates. -The Plan- The bolt carrier and hammer will be polished for smoothest possible cycling, This has already been done. The inner barrel will be swapped for a precision barrel, if there is one that fits that is A Harris bipod will be mounted instead of a Marui PSG bipod since it is both easier to find and more versatile. I cannot find any PSG1 slings for sale. The rifle will instead be equipped with a modified G3 leather sling. A Hawke scope will be mounted instead of an original Hensoldt or a Marui/Tasco replica, again because it is easier to find, more versatile and significantly cheaper. A fellow airsoft fan and skilled lathe machinist will be helping to modify the scope sunshade so that it can be used without partially blocking the cocking lever. A wooden handle will be either purchased or carved. The plastic handle is decent but on such an expensive platform i'd like a real wood grip. Shims will be installed to make forestock feel more solid. A mock suppressor, likely an ASG Hush XL or a M-ETAL Smooth, will be modified to fit the gun. It will simply slide onto the barrel and be held with friction using foam sheets. It is just for looks when the rifle is on display. Finally, if a steel trigger set is made for this gun, it will be installed when I can get one.

  11. You've got the Invicta Battlefield: black site just outside of Maidstone, probably closer to you than what Gravesend was depending what part of the M25. UCAP: The Bunker at Portsmouth isn't too bad to get to on a Sunday morning. RED 1 The School near Watford, it's first come first served with no booking but on a less busy day it's not a bad site.

  12. Closest you'll find is Epsom Bunker, CAMO on Canvey Island or Hockley Arena. There is nothing inside the M25 beyond Bunker and the Tunnels. I wouldn't say any of these sites were particularly good CQB.

  15. Can't see where I was disagreeing. I'm actually of the opinion that retailers have become too lax, given the apparent lack of policing of sales. That was my point: PatrolBase do accept things other than UKARA. As they can and should. They do seem to take providing them some sort of defence more seriously than other retailers, some of who sell and accept a completely bogus defence, and one which asks for a membership number, but then just lets you tick a box, as per this: Something that I actually agree with, because the defence concerns itself with future intentions, not past actions. Yup. My view is that if you have a game of airsoft booked for next weekend, that actually matches the "for the purposes of" defence more closely than what you might have done last Sunday. The caveat to all of this is that our defence was granted on a whim that isn't explicit even in secondary legislation, but only in an explanatory note accompanying it, which could be amended or withdrawn at any time. So while we all know that the current system is about as useful as a chocolate fireguard, it does sadden me to see airsoft retailers doing public end-runs around it with nonsense like "cosplay" defences, which just invites the banhammer to fall on us.

Definately a point there about reviews …. They are not everyone’s feedback but are likely to be subsets of certain cohorts: I had a bad time, or I was shouted at and am upset I had the most awesome time of my life and cannot keep it to myself I was told to do a review by my boss Most people don’t review everything they do. You get a bias, and particularly that if you’re happy then you’re happy but if you’re angry then you tell the world that you’re angry.

  17. private sellers cannot "search" the database There did use to be a check page for private sellers where you could use a buyers membership number to get a simple "yes/no" to valid membership but i don't think it ever worked properly and tbh private sellers can use other methods . UKARA database was for retailers to be able to efficently check in a way that was authorised by the HO at the time the VCRA passed , Not a method for private sellers to access the information

  18. As far as I'm aware the ukara only last 12months and then has to renewed by a site. I should be possible to for a retailer to see if that particular number is "active" or "dormant", then confirm either way for an enquiring party without having to divulge any details. So the ukara number should be the only information passed to the third party. Then you yourself would be giving the name and address to the seller for shipping. I believe that is how I should work, as the ukara is only there to facilitate distance selling. This is just how I understand it and and happy to be corrected/informed if it differs either way.

When it comes to site reviews, I tend to treat them like a potential rif purchase, so look at the reviewers other content & try to gauge the "calibre" of the person behind it before considering its content. As for the breakdown of "sides" , my old (& fairly large) team was known for fair & balanced play, so the owners of our old group of home sites would often split us between sides, with the proviso that we would player/marshal, encourage positive & productive play, plus I'm sure we all like to play against your mates occasionally just for the craic & bantz 😜

  22. Site rules apply but if its supposed to be an arm band it should remain an arm band. If the site doesn't object to the armband moving shoot on sight.

    What have you made?

decided to make my own gun case. It's not the neatest but it works. Bought a tool box from b&q, hardboard, pick and pluck foam and a few cans of plasti dip. I made it three layers with the bottom one glued to the base of the box. With the pistol layer I can pick the foam out for other attachments if needed and just plasti dip that section again to firm it up. All the layers also have foam under each piece of equipment.

  26. Yes, I have seen it though I don't think it's as prevalent or as intentional as a lot of people believe, say or think. Seen it at some skirmish sites, it's super funny when the group of "rentals" absolutely run rings around the regulars! Many times I have seen the teams get split and predicted it to go one way or the other and have been shocked by how the day has actually panned out. Unfortunately there have been times when it looks like the rentals/newer players are going to get smashed and they have been, generally though the sites I attend have split the teams pretty fairly from the off and made changes if one side is getting battered. I used to do a lot of stirling events and have heard it said that the stirling team get the preferential treatment, they get the "gucci" taskings etc. I used to believe that as well. However what I saw repeatedly was the stirling team doing the basics well and almost always had boring taskings. Then when they are on their 5th perimeter security tasking of the event and there is an intense counter attack which turns into an awesome firefight it looks like they had the "good tasking" rather than the team that was tasked with door kicking. Most teams/squads moaned about getting the "boring" taskings and would often flake (especially if it was their 2nd/3rd one of the event), when they got hit with a decent counter attack they'd often get rolled up cause the players got bored, didn't pay attention, chatted/had banter etc.

    120 or 30 rounds mags ???

So update ran all my mags at 30 rds today and loved it, 1 game I ran out of ammo but I forgot I had a 90 Rd speedloader on me and if I had a sidearm would have the extra ammo aswell. In total 664 shots fired today made me pick my shots and play alittle more tactical. Definitely think I'll enjoy GBBRs
