  6. You could have spent half that money for the same thing. That's what @Speedbird_666 meant. Nuprol just imports and rebrands stuff, apparently with a hefty mark-up too! (not uncommon tbf)

  7. I know advertising is required to keep this place up and running... BUT This doesn't look like advertising, it looks like we're sponsoring him AND approving/promoting his products. So for any noobs coming here, they're going to look at our site and think that we're endorsing his stuff. Now I can't speak for anyone else, but that's not me. And I'm fairly sure it's not a lot of us. I think most of his stuff is overpriced cheap shit (take a look at Negative airsoft's video of the AEG if you don't believe me). In short. Yuck.

  10. Site Name: Ambush Airsoft Contact details: 07903880042 Website Address: https://www.ambushairsoft.co.uk Facebook Page: Ambush Airsoft | Facebook Site Address: Brick Kiln Farm, Old Lane, Ockham, Cobham, KT11 1NL Popped along on my lonesome to Ambush Airsoft on 16/05/2021. This is NOT the old Campaign site. Ambush recently gained the lease for the old Delta Paintball site that is across the road from Campaign. So the site is relatively new to the people running the day. Ambush Airsoft is your typical, if slightly overgrown ex paintball site. Multiple small zones separated out by fenced off paths. As it's a new site, there are no reviews so to speak out there, so figured getting one into the SE Tour would be a start. This is a small woodland site with some buildings, including the signature church and castle and a non running double decker bus. No real elevation so to speak, nor water features. Short/Medium engagement distance throughout. Good: Playing Area: Was the best part of the site, though I felt it was utilised poorly. There are a couple of well built large buildings including a two story church with pews and tower. There is also a small castle and village section. Some places are overgrown but added to the area in a positive area. There is a section with a gutted double decker bus surrounded by various obstacles. There is a large "Stockade" which is used for small and short games, which splits the field in half. Which was very well built. Value: Good value at £25 for the day including a free burger for lunch (I got two as they were going to be chucked out). Turn around time: Reasonably good turn around time, I was pretty knackered come the end and marshals kept putting on games despite chucking down cats and dogs all day. Chrono: Was good, everything was tested and marked. Usual 350 AEG/450 DMR/500 BASR. Chronoed on your own bb weight. Safe Zone: Large split safe zone with car park in the middle. All the tables and chairs were under cover. Very few players on the day so plenty of room. Average: Marshalling: Only one, sometimes two marshals throughout the day, the site has such small zones it's all that is required. Guy was friendly and took constructive criticism well. Could have changed the teams up a little bit. Safety Brief: Short and sweet. Covered everything. Usual Airsoft cringe gallows humour. Game Modes: Were fairly basic, mostly attack/defend games with a capture the flag game mode. Worked fine considering the small size of the zones. Car Park/Entrance: A long muddy driveway that got worse as the rain came down during the day. Follow the obvious path down. The entrance to the site is signposted. Car parking is adequate and right next o the safe zone. Toilets: Three portaloos. They all smelt pretty bad, probably didn't help with all the rain. Didn't dare go in! At least there are three of them! Food: Burger was included in the price which was good. Though I didn't inquire if there was an alternative. Nothing obvious though. Bad: Clientele: It wasn't "All" bad. But there were very few people turn up on the day. With so few people on your side, it only takes some people not playing for the objective and just muck about, to essentially lose the game before it even kicks off. I am all for having a laugh, but not at the teams expense. They were referencing and were clearly a fan of a Forum/Facebook Airsoft/Comedy/Authority celebrity. In fact they may even be a member here. Hit taking: Frankly awful, some of the worst I have personally experienced. A couple of instances of blatant cheating. I shot someone who I believe works at the site in the leg whilst I was hiding in the brush. BB Bounced off the leg, player flinched, looked down at their leg for a few seconds, brushed at it with their hand, then just kept shooting. As in the safety brief, even if you aren't 100% sure you got hit, take it anyway. It took me a couple of extra shots to get them to take the hit. Sadly the extra shots gave my position away to someone in the other direction. Another situation, CQB, ultra close range. I fired at someone through a doorway whilst they were looking the other way, bb bouncing off of their vest. They turned around and shot me, claimed that I dry fired. Note I shot with a GBBP. If I dry fired or ran out of ammo, the slide would have locked back. I showed them that, rattled off two more shots and then it locked back on empty. They still insisted I dry fired and carried on. Another situation, enemy player firing through a gap in the stockade wood that smaller then an A4 sized paper (Not allowed) I fired back at them, watching BB's pinging off them, guy clearly getting frustrated, maybe 10 or so landed without taking their hit. They fired back at me, I immediately took my hit and walked off. Complained to the marshal and the guy left early after one more round. The guy was a known regular. I was accidently killing my own team coming up the top of the stairs on the bus, even pointed out to the marshal. My own team weren't even calling their hits. No wonders the enemy team weren't either! Last game I played, last man standing, hiding behind a barrier. I knew the enemy was all around me, within 10-15 metres. I went full on rambo and let off at least 10 shots directly at multiple players before they realised where the fire was coming from, this was at a distance I couldn't miss. No kills whatsoever. A guy who was watching me who was already claimed I had hit at least 3 of them and couldn't believe they didn't call it. So really bad experience. Two people who I had chatted to throughout the day were independently complaining about how bad it was throughout the day and both left early and vowed not to return. Shop: Very little on offer. Didn't get a good look. Poor implementation: It's a new site, but it is obvious at least two of the 4 zones we played are too short for airsoft distances as the respawns were in range of each other. The wire fencing between zones has to be removed and just use the entire site at once. I hear that this will happen soon. Conclusion: A real struggle of a day and probably the worst day of Airsofting I have been to in some time. The playing area has good potential, but it would have taken so little effort to open up the zones into one big playing area. Hit taking and clientele were pretty bad. I probably wont be back, There are many other sites between myself and Chobham that do the same thing but better. Campaign, the site they used to own is still being run by the landlords at least once a month and from what I hear is a better site at time of writing. Bullpup Watch: Famas and SRS. Best Guess Map:

  11. I recently made a thread where I showed how my DMR Build turned out. However there are some things that I'm planning to change. But here's the deal. I cannot find a 13/13.5 inch handguard anywhere remotely close to where I live so I'm thinking of a kind of M110-style look where instead of a long rail it'll have a 290mm suppressor. But how will it really look? Should I reconsider something? Because my friend and former classmate said it looked "pretty cool but kinda weird" so I'm just looking for some general opinions. Here's a mockup of how the new version would look.

So you don't use it much is a reason to buy a poorer product. who recommends Umarex glocks? Umarex are just rebranded KWA (23 year old design) or VFC never heard a good word about a VFC pistol. Also WE glock cheapest i could find £114.00 or TM £119.00 for the sake of £5 you can have a gun that will out perform the WE year round. regards the TM hype most WE are clones of TM so no TM no WE.

  16. Oh so true , a good friends mum and dad went on a guided tour in China a few yrs ago weather started turning nasty so the tour guide asked who needed waterproofs ? So next day the ones who did jumped in the mini bus and trundled off to get some . Hr or so later they drive in to a big factory looking place and up to a side door , guide knocks on it chap comes out pops on the bus and wanders around with a North Face catalog and a clipboard , everyone chooses what they want , guy disappears and reappear 15mins later with the kit they pay him not even a 3rd of retail price then head off back to the hotel . Later that day dad asks the guide who they’d bought the kit from and she turned around and said “oh that was the North Face factory , the man was my cousin who works there !” 😳😂😂

  18. I was a player-marshal on Sunday just gone , the way my home site does it the P-M’s are either site staff who aren’t working that day , or if there’s still not enough then they’ll ask any marshals from other sites who’ve come to play that day or older more well known regulars who the bosses have some faith in (yes Tackle I know in that case how’d I get the gig !🤣) and any thing thats flagged has to go through one of the game marshals to be escalated to what ever’s needed for the infraction .

  20. I often used to be a player/marshall for one of my teammates chain of sites, as did most of my teammates (but not all) why ?, as a team we were generally known for high levels of fair play, so it kinda made sense that we were asked to "quietly" police gameplay to ensure harmony. Essentially the site organiser would ask us to discretely support his paid hi-viz clad staff, during the safety briefing he would inform the punters that there were player marshals undercover within the teams who would only identify themselves if absolutely necessary, & generally this worked very well, players who may have been tempted to bend the rules because there was no hi-viz in sight had to consider who else was watching. how did we approach it ?, mostly it was the occasional honesty shot in the butt for anyone pointed out to us, sometimes people mildly kicking off were told to head back to the safe zone for 15 mins to hydrate & calm down, on the understanding that another episode would result in a half or full day break, or lifetime ban for the extreme cases (obviously this would be confirmed by the paid staff & was a rare occurrence). we had one teammate who at times was at times unpredictable in his playing style & attitude, partly due to issues in his home life, needless to say he was never asked to fill the role. in return, we got free game days, & they were usually very enjoyable, if you expect fair & honest gameplay, how better than to be quietly ensuring it's happening 👍

  21. Thanks @Lozart, very helpful images! I'll dick around with it a little bit tomorrow (national holiday), but I think I'll keep it without inserts for now and remove the bungees. You could use the MP2 inserts, but you'll need to make a (4 actually) small spacer that pushes the insert against the bungee loops, which will also raise the mags a little bit.
    1 point
  22. So I tried the inserts over the weekend: They're quite a bit shorter than the kydex ones I have (long Esstac ones) Basically the MP2 inserts are too short for the mag pouches. The kydex ones fit snugly under the cord loops though.

If you want something a bit different, the AAP-01 works very well out of the box. Uses standard Glock mags.

  26. I think it looks decent as long as you can get the suppressor to fit snug against the rail/gas block. If not and there’s a gap I don’t think it would work as well.

    What have you made?

@Druid799 Nah M80, it’s just from the pile of old duvets that the wife got from her mum as I was asking after material for prototyping before I use the expense stuff - if you check my bandoleer images you will see the Hawaiian duvet I used to get the “kinks” out but the reverse/other side of the jack pattern is plain white and it would’ve looked full 3-K’s

  28. Went and played at DogTag yesterday for my nephew's first game. Have to say for his first time the day could not have been any more perfect. The weather was spot on th crowd was friendly with good hit taking throughout the fay. the reffs were awesome as always at this site and the games flowed well. The nephew was clearly trigger happy. Ammo that'll usually last me 4 games he used up by lunch time but it's worth it to see him enjoying himself. Only thing that annoyed me during the day was some douch teen (typically HPA +dye i5 - is that the prerequisite?) Trying to kick through walls and destroy stuff. Also in typical fashion the day I can't find my faceshield I ended up taking about 10 hits to the lips. I now resemble JayZ. Really want to get a DMR now for this site though as it has so many long line of site shots.

  35. Given the recent move of production of some optics to China by Sig and the comparatively high price of that for a 'replica' (not to mention that they hide all the trades in the listing pics) there's no denying it's a good possibility at least. Sig will do extra QC if this was the case and you'll have a higher lemon chance going straight to China, but interesting.

  39. If your company is genuinely top notch and the same applies to the product you put out along with the follow-up customer service, you don't advertise this aggressively. As with many of the above, ads are expected since the use of the forum is free, so I get it. That said, these specific ads are the visual equivalent of some drunk dickhead in a club with a 3" and no staying power that touches up random girls then calls them sluts when they slap him. Both in the subject matter and the obtrusiveness.

  42. Sadly it appears as though I can't nuke the advert without losing the forum for some reason. It's a pain in the arse as it's not far of being blinding... let alone the fact that I can't stand Nobritsch. Normally I use the dark theme to aid in readability but as it stands I guess I'll be reducing my visits until this is resolved as it's rather uncomfortable on the eyes.

  45. Just started to dive into my CA MP5K project that I got from the forums. Gone is the hideous rail someone had put on it, now working on re-routing wires, ordered some new body pins and trying to get rid of the thread adaptor by means of Dremel/WD40/Fire What I can confirm is that it fires, is accurate at CQB ranges and is very loud...

  50. I can’t say if real steel trigger guards fit, but real steal grips will (although you need to use the original MWS bolt to attach them). I had a problem with the attachment point from the trigger guard digging into my middle finger. I don’t think a different trigger guard would have fixed this as the issue was actually the bracket where the trigger guard attaches with the roll pin. I fixed it by using some ‘Sugru’ to fill the void and hide the sharp bit. It’s a neat job and looks factory. ill try and take a picture later today.
