All, Thanks for the replies. For clarity, I'm not too fussed about having a posh gnu or sniping - just would like something a little different to run alongside the M4 if/when it takes my fancy. Any extra poke would be handy for the couple of larger areas at my woodland site, but not a must by any means. I'll leave the arguments about physics to others... I just enjoy airsofting and getting on with folks. Thanks for the recommendations. Eezer

Had a great day for my second time out today. Got shot in the head a lot so grateful for the helmet. Also glad I was wearing a helmet when the guy behind me tried to light up his mate in front but didn't understand the difference between sightline and bore-line. Happy be able to laugh off a burst of full auto to the back of the head at 2 metres. Lessons learned:- 1. Get a BFG that works. Missed a perfect double kill when the bargain basement one didn't go off.😒 2. Different sites work in different ways. At my last skirmish we went out all morning for 3 consecutive games so this time I was carrying the kitchen sink and after an hour we were back in the safe zone.🙄 3. Learn the locations of all the key places so that when they rattle off a list of names in the briefing you know what the **** they are talking about. 4. If you don't keep moving a sniper will shoot you. Good day, friendly, helpful, well organised, well marshalled. I'll definitely be going back.

I’ve finally managed to get a PSG1 sight on my PSG1 strangely enough. Bloody hard going trying to find one and along the way I now own a TM PSG1 ffs. Haha 😂

Quite a generic point but will make it anyway. If you're used to shorter guns be careful and conscious of the added length of the sig in the first few games. Can be very annoying to smack your new AEG against a tree/doorway/etc. on the first day you are running it.

Doesn't justify shooting me in the face, when he had my whole body at his disposal. Could've shot me anywhere, including my boonie hat, that I had on at the time. Same energy output? Same hop pressure applied? Same RPM imparted to the bb from rubbing against the rubber? Mate, seriously. Let's assume those two guns have the exact same gearbox inside, essentially the firehawk will come out at a much lower energy output due to the shorter barrel, which automatically voids your example again, can't compare a Golf with a Panda, two different cars even though they both have 4 wheels made of rubbery material and an engine. Did you chrono both guns? were they within 5/10 fps from each other? if not, guess what, your example is wrong Well yes, some of us do contribute to society instead of trying to be clever on forums

Clean up and repair the handguard, rewire to deans. other than that im very happy with the current performance. im picking up a spare set of gears and a gearbox casing for it. but I dont really intend to mess with it.

Welcome! Don't worry about going on your own. It just means less distractions so you can focus on whats going on and being said. You'll soon be talking to people around you anyway. All the info you need is in the forum. Just do some searching and a lot of reading 😉

Hello I’m John from Aldershot. As my eldest has recently turned 14 we are going to start to attend some Airsoft sites in near future. I have a few weapons already as were procured for use as foreign weapon systems / training aids and stored in my armoury at work. Had thought about starting up the hobby years ago but as my day job involves doing this type of stuff i never bothered and spent my weekend either walking the dogs or being lazy but my boy really wants to get into this so thought why not.

Barrel length/bore size and an NPAS are all you really need to up the power to any level you can use in the UK. A couple of my MWS also have an angry gun v2 piston head and an after market rocket valve spring, but that was just because the OEM parts had started to wear and it’s much harder to get new OEM parts than the after market ones (and they work fine).

There are two raised lugs. Can you rotate nut by hand using those lugs until its nearly tight and then place a wide flat bladed screwdriver on lugs and gently tap it tight? I know what I mean. Lol Regards

Most definitely this , when you come down to it I do believe TM are still about the only airsoft producer you can really expect two same model and run guns to side by side perform equally , if anything simply due to the manufacturing standards they enforce . I would think the biggest mechanical variable affecting uniformity is the fact the BB is traveling down an oversized smooth bore tube so no two BBs will have the same journey down it . So once you chuck questionable QC in to the pot as well ? 🤔

Yup. All the teeth I've seen explode (including mine) were upper teeth because when shouting/breathing/whatever they are the ones without any cover from the lips.

The bottom teeth are covered by the bottom lip, that's why. It's much more likely to get a tooth knocked off the top.

As requested by @Adolf Hamstercopious amounts of photos. the metal on the gun is in great condition and it fires beautifully. Unfortunately though it seems the previous owner has been using a screwdriver to pry open the handguard to put in a battery.

Combat South is my local site and one i have visited the most over the years. Great site, great bunch of people run it and very much missed by everyone in the South. I tend to judge every site now by Combat South, as the standard they need to live up to. Russ is working hard to find a new site. CSW will be back ( sorta )

Personally I totally agree with the players that complained to the Marshals and believe this should be dealt with in the strongest possible terms. Why do I feel so strongly on this issue, Two reasons: First it’s a matter of player safety. If a player is allowed to get away with this behaviour then the only realistic way for the enemy team to react is to treat everyone doing the ‘dead mans walk’ as a live player and open fire. This is going to lead to massive over shooting/over killing on the poor sods who are genuinely ‘dead’ and actually making the slog back to the safe zone/respawn. Yes there is an argument that dead players should have pistols holstered and hand/rifle in the air, but the reality is this only happens until they have withdrawn from the firefight that killed them and is impractical if the terrain is even moderately uneven and the respawn is more than about 50 yards away, particularly on larger sites where there can be multiple engagements between where a player ‘died’ and the respawn. Secondly, it is completely unrealistic and against the spirit of the game in an honesty based system that is intended to mimic engagements with firearms. It is not being clever or sneaky it is just as dishonest as players who don’t take their hits, in fact more so as there is no possible argument that the offending player may not have felt a BB at the end of its range that hits a bit of gear. It is straight out gaming the mechanics of the system.

Longtime lurker, first time poster. I blame this thread entirely for encouraging me to buy and modify an MWS 😁 (thanks?). Have had a number of AEGs and GBB pistols, but this was my first venture into GBBRs. I stupidly decided to go down the expensive and difficult route of modify my first MWS to recreate John Wicks TR-1, albeit with a few minor changes. It's more akin to the current version sold on Brownells as opposed to the version seen in the movie. A little bit of both I guess. So far its mostly externals, but I intend on working on the internals as well. Once I have some more money that is 😅.
