  1. Midcap = Realism and stealth but less BB's so need more of them. Hi-cap = Lots of BB's but noisy (maracas) I use hi-caps and have at least 2 for each of my gunz which adds up... Moving stealthy will not make too much noise and running doesn't really matter how much noise I make 😄 I mainly use semi so a couple of hi-caps lasts a whole game.

    What have you made?

When my hospital changed trusts we all had to have new ID badges so when they arrived there was a bag full of the new badges and a bag full of those extendable wire keychains , but unfortunately due to my age and rapidly advancing dementia I complete forgot I’d already picked one up and grabbed a few more ! 😇😇

  4. The topic of ‘Fees’ rears it’s ugly little heads quite regularly and in the end it always ends up the same way , you’ve got one side that says you should have one single figure that you ask for that covers everything and on the other you’ve got the ones who go in to very long winded reasons for why you have the goods price and then P&P plus PayPal is tagged on after . One of the biggest reasons they Say this seems to be letting the buyer choose the delivery method instead of setting it them selves wether by parcelfarce/ Royal fail or Hermies/etc me I just do Royal Mail/Parcelfarce as my preference for who I’ll send via and that’s that you want anything else ? Sorry no can do .

    Feed Problems

A hop rubber that is slightly too long can also cause this. Can you see the lips of the hop rubber through the bb feed tube? Generally you will be able to see them but only just. (<1mm). Th bb drop test can show iff bbs are getting caught (i.e. with the hop and barrel out of the gun drop a bb into the infeed tube and it should drop straight out the back without any resistance. Otherwise it might be a nozzle length issue as suspected. When you say you measured the nozzle what length did you measure and what length did you buy to replace it? Did you notice if there was a delay chip on the gear when you replaced the nozzle.

  6. Okay, full day it is. So how many people typically turn up to this kind of thing? I appreciate it varies by site, but for the sake of argument let's say Survival near Torrington. And what, I just turn up and I get put into a team? Or is it like school football getting picked last!? 😂 Haha yeah I imagine Nerfs are a bit too advanced for beginners, have you seen the size of those darts compared to BBs!?

  7. Also, those key holder reels are great- hook one onto the pin and if you set it up right you can pull the pin by extending your arm so you can throw it one handed.

  8. Both the gun and suppressor are out of stock from the suppliers I can find and would trust so I'll take the cheapest price I can find from a reputable retailer even if out of stock. ASG MP9 - £199.99 ASG M9 Suppressor - £54.99 Both prices pulled from PatrolBase. 254.98 combined price brand new, applying a 60-70% of retail second hand value we get £152.99 - £178.49 second hand value. That is assuming the gun only has normal wear and tear damage. However the gun is damaged beyond that as the sling point is completely sheared off. And to top it off, the asking price of £180 is for collection/if you live within reasonable driving distance of him else he wants postage and PayPal fee's on top. (Paypal ToS state the seller is to take the cost of the paypal fee's and not charge to the customer) Since the item is damage beyond normal wear and tear I'd go with 60% total retail value and sell it for £152.99 for collection and £170 odd for postage including paypal fees (I've can't remember how much it'd cost to post something of that size but I'm thinking around £14-£16? Correct me if I'm wrong) I rest my case, your honour.

    If Only Guns !

Cronoarms are releasing a Bolter kit for an M4 and I'm in the process of designing a system that would allow me to design a fully custom bolter around pretty standard AEG components. That's pretty awesome. Could probably be done with some work. A friend over in the state built something that followed that aesthetic

Not sure you can put a tracer on that one but I don't know it so could be wrong. I think the Edge range are good value and will be fine for many game days. Make sure to clean the barrel as soon as you get it. And as with any new purchase, test a mag full before throwing away the box etc. (Keep the box if you can for re-sale)

  15. Okay so, so Survival in Torrington has a spot this Sunday, so I'ma probs gonna go along to that just to see what the crack is, and go from there. If I love it, which I'm sure I will, I'll go to the one on the 2nd May as well, which should give me time to heal a million BB exit wounds.

  16. I'm a mid cap fan. I enjoy reloading and I also play milsim, which often won't let you use high-caps unless you're an LMG. I also don't like winding personally, Either you have to pull back into cover or not hold your gnu properly while you wind. Unless you are playing an event that restricts you though, it's generally personal preference. I've definitely gone around a corner to find my midcap empty... that's partly on me for not counting my shots though.

  17. Hi caps for me all the way where possible, I tend to only use semi and two hi caps can last me all day. Also means I don’t have to had 8 mags strapped to me. But then I’m all for lightweight stripped back loadouts rather than having everything including the kitchen sink strapped to me. And as mentioned the noice is only an issue when running and then stealth goes out the window so it’s a moot point. Grab some of each and work out what you prefer though. Shame my gas mp9 and mp7 mags don’t come with a hi cap version though

  18. screw hicaps, they rattle, winding them is annoying and i've never met one that could discharge a decent amount of rounds without constantly being wound in the field. people claim such magazines exist but i've never seen it. they are however the standard mag you tend to get with a new gun, and when just starting out they're good for carrying enough ammo to play with without needing to invest extra in mags/gear to carry the mags, a single hicap with a spare in a pocket is a lot of rounds. midcaps imo are better in every way, used to be their main downside was being slow/annoying to load with the older style speedloaders but now you can buy an odin m12 and refill a ton of mags quick enough you can even do it mid game. aside from that they're fit and forget- fire it till it's empty then reload.
    1 point
  19. I, like most people, started off with hicaps - I had three 500rd mags for my Cyma AK74. I was very much a spray-and-pray airsofter back then, so I liked the fact that I could carry 1500 rounds at once, having not spent much money on mags or mag pouches. The trouble is, they remove some of the realism of airsoft, and of course there's that sodding rattling noise that you get if you so much as scratch a bollock. I've since kicked over to midcaps and I've never looked back. I love the realism (sort of) of having limited ammunition and having to reload, I love the tactical advantage of quieter movement, and my wallet loves the fact that I now spend less on BBs.

  21. I'd go to a surplus store if you can, to try them on and make sure you get good support. Lots of people play in normal walking boots - personally I'd rather have the extra layer of support military boots provide though. If you get military style boots that are the leather/fake leather boots you may also want polish - put a layer on and brush it off but don't buff it and the boots will stay dull rather than shiny and it provides some waterproofing. Things to think about when looking fit and comfort (obviously) breathability/waterproof - generally waterproof boots are less breathable so if you only plan on playing when it's sunny and there is no mud you may want desert style boots that have more airflow ankle support - generally more is better but too much can restrict you movement (I find anyway)

  24. Good ankle support and comfort are what you're looking for. Also, don't underestimate the value of decent socks too. You don't want your feet sliding around in a pair of trainer socks, or sweating like a cheap salad in thick hiking socks. Go for natural fibres.

  25. Hi @Hannah! 👋 I bought 2nd hand boots from a surplus shop, still have them 4 years later, putting them through hell.... when I can! 🤪 I agree with @EDcase, budget and preference! 🔫😎👍 Good luck getting started, got a channel covering a few things for beginners? 🤔 💷GAMBLE💷

  26. Duno if there are 'best' airsoft boots. 😉 Depends how much you want to spend. You'll want something with good ankle support. Army surplus shops have good options of course. THESE are the cheapest I can find with a quick search. Just do a search for "army boots"

    Feed Problems

Hop rubber seems ok when tested as you described. The old plastic air nozzle was fairly beaten up so I had to try and reconstruct it, best I could see it came out at 20.53mm with my digital caliper, I went for a 20.5mm replacement so if anything slightly shorter. There wasn't a delay installed but that might be a good shout, I'll try a new tappet plate first as I have one somewhere. Thanks for the help guys, I'll let you know how I get on.

  30. I know im being pedantic however if there was buyers fees for sellers would those be passed on? I don't have a problem paying for something that i think is worth the money but just list the complete price. Its easy and im sure people that sell doing that tend to have quicker sales.
    1 point
  31. the question is why should the buyer pay selling fees? They are selling so surely the seller should cover them?
    1 point
  32. Its not an argument i really understand. Just work out the fee's and postage before you list it and add it onto the total price. I mean your almost always tanking a massive depreciation loss when selling secondhand gear anyway.

Cylinder shouldn't cause poor feeding unless you've done it REALLY wrong! As @Piman said though a hop rubber could cause an issue. If your nozzle is too long as well then absolutely!

Couple of questions - did you change anything else and when you say "misfire" I assume you mean no BB rather than more than one BB at a time? If the nozzle is too long then yes, you would have feeding issues.

  37. Hi! I'd say that 70deg might be a bit hard, maybe go with the 60deg. Also you will need the Omega tensioner nub as it's designed to work with the design of the Maple Leaf rubber. Other than that it's a pretty standard V2/M4 style hop unit.

  38. Not as impressive as all your custom rigs and holsters but here's mine. My partner goes through hairbands like you wouldn't believe so I took a couple of the stretched out ones and used them to secure my grenades to my belt. The spoon goes through the molle and the hairband goes over the top and hooks on the pin. They're nice and secure now and, with a bit of practice, just as fast to unhook. VID_20200824_222113.mp4

    Weird Dpm Shirt?

Most camo printing pretty much looks like this (that I've ever seen). If you've ever said 'X does not work in Y wide-range multitude of environments' sorry you just did little other than prove you don't actually know much about camo patterns, using camouflage, fieldcraft and understanding terrains. DPM has a load of black and light tan in it (highly contradictory, not without reason but still not ideal), it's a camo designed in the 1960s when they had incredibly limited design and printing technologies compared to now. It can be fine in very dark environments, but by modern standards it is a poor camo pattern and colourway. Same applies for many of the iconic old pre-2000 camos that people get weirdly sentimental over as if nothing could've been made that's better since then. Basically the same mentality as people who cling to NiMh batteries.

  43. Finally got my pistol assembled and mounted the scope to my g3 G3 is a lct g3a4 firing 435 fps and mechanically locked to semi with a warfet and maple leaf hop rubber. Scope is a hensoldt 4x24 s2 with aftermarket illuminator. Glock is a tm glock 18c with detonator cobra slide kit (absolute MF to install) detonator tti sights (required modifications to the slide for some stupid reason), gaurder extended slide and mag releases, gaurder lightweight bbu and ml crazyjet barrel and hop. Both are almost finished but not quite, waiting on a tti magwell and new trigger for the glock and a llm1 and harris bipod for the g3.

  44. Similar event for me , got one of the briefcase sized divided boxes to put all my hundreds of dremel bits’n’bobs in spent a good few hrs transferring from half a dozen different packs and kits and what not so there all neatly sectioned off by use and then couple o wks ago I decided to balance it in the corner of the breakfast bar while I did a piddly little job and promptly knocked it off and there’s Dremel shit everywhere ! So yes I am a knobhead ! 🤦‍♂️

  46. I would check on the customs fee and VAT thing, it is your property being moved between countries for your own use. No different to taking a suitcase of clothes on holiday with you I would see about using a shipping firm (as used to move peoples belongings when emigrating) rather than a commercial courier who seem to slap spurious charges on everything and have awful customer service!

  48. It has a Titan advanced and 7 EPM mags and a M95. What baffles me is running a Titan with stock Marui gears. Although nothing wrong with that combo if you’re installing a Titan you may as well shove in steel gears and bushes too. And by changing the spring you have the piston out so why not change it for a more durable one. Anyway this isn’t a topic about upgrades. But £975? Jeez! And for all the youngsters this song is epic.

    THE TM MWS thread

My Strike Industries build so far. Decided not to sell the real steel parts after all as I am working towards my license for real practicing with real firearms. So I decided to buy a new MWS to fit it all too. As soon as they are back in stock however I will be buying another MWS to make a Block II FSP build (the one I was going to do instead of this ). So here it is, my "Strike Rifle", not finished yet but for the most part it is to my liking. Only upgrades I'm definitely going to do is get an SI Forward Assist, an SI buffertube and the SI Fang triggerguard and perhaps a set of real magpul pro mbus'.
