  3. If an Aimpoint T-2 is an instagram fitness model that occasionally posts lingerie pics that thing is the ginger extra plus sized alt girl that sneaks in to your recommendations and you think 'that's different.. probably has a couple thousand follows amongst the more niche audience' but it turns out she actually has over a million. Suits the vector pretty well tbh.

  4. @TheFull9 posted a link to this document on his FB page many moons ago, and unfortunately said link is now dead. By pure luck I've been able to find this document again. Originally put together for the HKPro community, it's a presentation by a former (and now deceased) employee of H&K, Jim Schatz AKA 'G3Kurz' on the HKPro forums. It focuses on the turbulent '90s and early '00's for the company, and has some excellent pictures of the XM8 Prototypes, the H&K 'Pattern' room and a bunch of other really cool stuff. If you like H&K - or firearms in general, it's a really interesting read. I thought I post it here so others can take a look. TheHKDecades.pdf

  5. Largely bolts on to what @Crazy_Crystal said. Weighing up the costs of R&D and production with the demand, Marui only care about the Japanese market. If the various AR iterations of the MWS continue to sell like hot cakes there isn't much of a need for them to deviate and start pumping those sunk costs into something similar. I'm honestly surpised the AK appeared as quickly as it did, which might sound like madness given the gap between the AR MWS coming out and the announcement of the AK. Such a weirdly unique company, many get burned at the stake because they don't ship to certain countries while Marui trudge along as if the rest of the world literally doesn't exist. Side note, that's not to say I wouldn't love to see other variants... just can't see it happening any time soon.

  6. Have you tried resetting it? There's a little plunger in the box that is used to reset the mosfet
    1 point
  7. hmm, if it's doing it with no load on the motor (assuming the motor spins freely) then it's either busted wiring causing a short, or the mosfet is dead.

  8. Make sure its not something like the piston jamming (either clamped in the case or smacking the spacer) and that everything is able to spin freely. Otherwise, if you dont have ab enabled, it could have overrun and applied some precocking which is too much startup load for the motor? Also this is a good lesson on why fuses or a mosfet with a cutoff are a good idea- better you find out this way than find out when something starts sizzling.

Aye, HAO make one. Certainly not cheap, but I'm sure folks that really get their Jimmies rustled by it are excited it exists. https://www.haoptwart.com/product-page/hao-s-l119a2-cqbr-monolithic-upper-kit-iur-for-marui-mws-assembled-no-tool

  10. It's a good question. I am unsure myself. I want an AMD-65, but wondering if just going with the Golden Eagle for £125 rather then the LCT for 309 is a better bet.

  11. I can't really say at the moment. Only got it last night and some of the padding is missing. A size 58 hat was too small for my head so I'm probably about 60cm and the helmet has room to move on me. I'll update when I've sorted out the padding.

  12. It doesn't have a liner just individual pads. I guess I'll just have to pull them all out until I find the marking. I'm probably going to replace all the padding anyway. It's most likely FMA as there aren't that many choices in the Airframe.

    G3k Project Question

@Jacob Wright I think I've worked it out! It's a Strike Back custom! http://airsoftbuilds.com/images/weapons/1936220140306004107.jpg In Season 3 of Strike Back, Stonebridge used a custom shortened G3 with a South African style vented handguard. The charging handle sits right behind the front sight post which is how yours is. This was a custom made rifle done by the series armourer in South Africa (where it was filmed). You can just about see what I mean here: If you bought it from a user here then chances are it's the one that was built by another user @Samurai

I felt the same until I tried it. It feels very skinny and unobtrusive in the hand, it weighs less, and it seems to me to be ergonomically superior. I struggle to use the old RIS style now, it just feels like I'm tring to manipulate the gun whilst its attached to a clunky cheese grater. Whilst the mk18 had certain real steel advantages due to heat dissipation, these are not relevant in airsoft. I really like Magpul as an innovative modern business, and their R&D on M Lok was superb. I remember getting one of the early MOE handguards for my PTW about 10 years ago and liking it's 'high speed, low drag' ergonomics, and what Geissele have done with that concept is refine it further. HAO have done an excellent job again at making it affordable for airsoft. Firm handshakes all round.

    Cyma Products

The GC16 range hasn't changed in a while whereas the Cyma stuff is much improved. They're still both cast pot metal bodies so I wouldn't be too hung up on that as has been mentioned, the G&G internals are fine, nothing fancy but pretty reliable (don't get anything with any suggestion of blowback though). Cyma gearboxes have generally been pretty good for a while and the newer ones with the mosfets and stuff seem to be quite well regarded. I doubt you'd go far wrong with either to be honest from a purely mechanical point of view. Aesthetically it depends on you really. The GC series have a lot of Magpul-esque furniture which is a bit rubbish and weird ergo grips (Warthog, Wildhog et al) but that really is all a bit "eye of the beholder". Don't get the GR4 G26 though. The front has a habit of falling off.

  18. I used to do plinking in the garden with air pistols and while browsing gunmart I found an article about skirmishing. The idea of targets which can move and shoot back was immediately appealing. I'd tried paintball but that was too expensive to take up regularly so airsoft looked perfect Gor me it's the camaraderie that you get between players, I've made some very good friends through airsoft. Probably the biggest part that I don't like is the social media groups. I found the vast majority are full of people having childish arguments. To go along with this are all the wannabe airsoft "celebrities" and their sycophants. Just because you've got an Instagram account and are wearing more cameras than used on a Hollywood blockbuster doesn’t make you special or the next JJ Abrams. Lastly its those who take things far to seriously and think they can order others around, telling them how to play. Anyone doing this should be told to fuck off as I've paid to have fun, not stroke the ego of some General Patton wannabe. Of course. Regularly spending a day running round (well bimble now age is starting to catch up with me) is always going to help with physical health. Also as someone who has mental health issues, I find having a day to forget about the rest of the world and concentrate on the game really does help where my head is. Even my other half has noticed that my mood drops and I generally become a miserable shit (well more of one) if I haven't been able to play for a while If I can think of anything else I'll add it later

  22. To those of you that are, & can make that extra effort to get back in shape, whether its weight loss or training, well done 👍,it'll benefit you in more than just Airsoft. But to those of you that like myself (found out today I'm now waiting on at least 3 surgeries), & face a bigger struggle, but are determined to still get out there in the meantime, consider your loadouts ?, more importantly don't feel the pressure to necessarily go "fully loaded", myself I've sorted a molle grab bag, pouches on the exterior mean I can access 2 pistol mags, 3 hi caps for any of my platforms & a 1L Nalgene bottle with ease, plus any bits I need to carry in the bag, fully loaded it still weighs about the same as my favourite warrior chest rig when it's EMPTY ffs, that's a big weight saving plus I'm not wrapped in many layers of tactical nylon, which in itself is enough to start you sweating before the first whistle............. Just saying, if fitness or health is an issue at the mo, don't kill yourselves just to look more 'leet, it's not worth it & will definitely spoil your first games back 🚑

  24. Now that the cerakoted parts are on their way back to me, I've given the stock one last rough-up with some fine grit paper and rub-down with some OSMO. It's a nice balance between having a deep, rich lustre and looking too clean and shiny. She's gonna be purty
