  6. Can't understand why people persist in trying to resurrect the FB Airsoft groups that keep getting closed down, new variants on a name etc won't change the fact that FB opposes anything that relates to guns, even toy ones, & half the population of said FB pages are juvenile cockwombles that can't follow the simplest of rules. The sensible members need to give up flogging a dead horse & migrate back to the forums such as this one. As for the cockwombles, they can just fuck off full stop 😜.

  7. That's cheating, you can't say that. Will Greenwood will accept a friend request from anyone! It was quite nice to see lots of folks on Facebook groups recommend this place as a safe haven / alternative.

  8. I think this is inevitable in the long term for Airsoft. Facebook hates anything contrary to their arbitrary values and politics in the bubble known as Silicon Valley.

This is why I put a Nano ASR in mine. At some point I might stick a WarFET in. But it works nicely as-is. I wouldn't run an 11.1v. Mine, like @RonLancs had overspin when I tested it. You can get a solid 15-16 RPS with just a high torque and 7.4v LiPo. That, and a 11.1v would be harder to get into the very limited battery space, whereas a 7.4v Turnigy Stick battery fits perfectly into the mock gas tube. Again, the gun is very usable out of the box, upgrades can come later.

  11. I’ve only just started using Facebook (almost 50 years old,and a Luddite) It won’t be a huge loss to me, I do prefer a forum, I find it far easier to navigate for information and a lot less tolerant of cockwombles and keyboard warriors πŸ‘

Cyma upgrades? Bunch of cyma 140 round mid caps, Bag of geoffs and a cleaning rod If you really wanna push the boat out: E&c brass nozzle, new piston o ring, maple leaf macaron+omega nub, bit of air seal work and a warfet. Put it together right and on 11.1v you'll have an evil wee gat.

  20. I'm suspecting air seal, but as a general rule its worth having at least one spring around you can be pretty sure of. Issue is the ratings of different springs can vary with different manufacturers. I've found asg's m95's tend to be pretty reliably 1j in most boxes but i've had m90's shoot higher and m110's shoot lower. What was the fps variance like before the change? Thats the best you can really do as a test of air seal quality.

  22. Not to mention the whole classifieds section which is arguably the most active in the UK ever since Usedairsoft went kaput, and doesn't push for you to pay (looking at you, Prefired admins).

  23. Have you measured that inner barrel length yourself? I only ask as if it is closer to 200mm you are going to need a much stronger spring than M100 for 300 FPS let alone 330

  25. Air seal issues are likely to be hop unit or piston. Gearbox should not be airtight at the back. Probably a daft question but you did try it with .20 BBs not heavier ones ( Ive done that before !) Nick

I’ve never found Facebook groups particularly helpful on subjects like this anyway, too much censorship/control not able to organise discussions or threads. This place is so much more helpful and easy to navigate IMO. Facebook does have its uses for quick updates or sharing of info/company adverts but that’s where it’s limited.

really depends on what you want/how you play. something like a nanoasr will give basic contact protection easy enough. i'd stay away from using anything with active braking that doesn't also have precocking (which the warfet does), active brake on it's own has a nasty habit of causing lockups on ak boxes. precocking will give snappier trigger response in semi auto, the gun will run fine without it but if you do a lot of semi auto shooting it can be nice to have. reason i'd say the nanoasr is it's the same wiring on the gun as the warfet, so if you ever want to get something fancier it's plug and play (no point re-wiring the gun twice)

Yea I love tinkering and fixing things (I’m an engineer) so I think I will end up probably teching more in the long run especially with the current climate. Good shout on getting something that is already working, I just enjoy brining things back to life, however I will need to have a level of understanding first so the working route is probably the best place to start.

I'd say get something that works rather than a boneyard whether it be a CYMA 506 (68Β£) or something so you know before you open the gearbox it works. Take it apart clean it etc. That way you know if you've done something wrong. However, each to their own - I learned the hard way and ended up sending a bag of bits to a tech then kicking myself for paying for the work to be done. Looking back I know what the problem was... I love how teching is the 2nd part of the hobby, I enjoy it nearly as much as actually playing. PM me that parts list for under Β£50 mate!! haha

Awesome thanks for the replies guys, sounds pretty impressive out of the box. I am looking to get into teching but think my best bet would be getting hold of some boneyard items for that and leave the CM as stock until I’m more confident and when it needs it.

I stuck a Gate Nano ASR in mine, with 16AWG Alpha wire. Didn't make that much difference TBH. You can argue that it helps the trigger contacts, but I had guns running 2S LiPos for nearly a decade without a Mosfet and they never had an issue. Best upgrades are - a thorough barrel-clean (the stock barrel is decent enough), a new hop rubber/nub, adding a deans connector and maybe a higher torque motor. Total cost under Β£50. I would leave everything else stock until it breaks. Mine was actually reasonably well shimmed and greased out of the box. The CM.045 is a chunky thing (all AKs are), so once you start bolting things up front it becomes pretty nose-heavy. I found the stock grip to be a bit uncomfortable when trying to do stuff like reloading. A Β£5 Cyma Ergonomic grip helped sort that.

  38. Oh I appreciate his skill for sure. But physics come into play, the energy is fixed owing to the FPS and BB weight, of which such an object can only fly so far with said energy. Without sending the BB via the moon 70M is pushing it for 330 FPS. Just keeping a lid on expectations and mis-information. All the best and good luck with the sale, genuinely an awesome RIF for anyone wanting a quiver killer rifle, good price too.

    What have you made?

I've designed and 3D printed a rail for my FNX-45, with the plan to do a low-profile plate adapter if I ever get round to ordering a cheap red dot that includes one. More tweaking to follow to make it more low-profile.

  46. I see, I have learnt many things! My plan was to run it at 1j or just below and use something like 0.25g BB's. I shall whack a Nov modular supressor on the end of it for maximum ssssshhhhh. I've got loads of different weights to okay around with so we shall see what I can achieve. I'll make a project thread when it's in hand!

  49. So I tested the AEG today using various weighted BB's and the results are: 0.2g upto and including 0.28g no problem with hop or overhop 0.3g upwards don't hop. I'll probably run 0.28g BB's until I get around to S hopping the inner barrel. If you buy 1 and want to run heavier BB's then you will need to look at another hop rubber/bucking/hop unit to run the heavier BB's. I also tried to measure the inner barrel as I'm curious to see what the inner diameter is however I ran into a couple of snags. The first being the flash hider. The grub screw that holds it on and the flash hider actually have thread lock on them. I wasn't expecting this for such a cheap AEG and is something normally seen on high end AEG's. I had to end up press fitting a star drive bit into the grub screw to get it out and used set of pipe pliers to get the flash hider off. This sounds like a negative but its not. It just means the build quality coming from DE is pretty high. You can see on the picture below the red residue of the threadlock on the inside of the flash hider. Once I got the flash hider off I used my calipers to measure the inside of the inner barrel and got a weird reading of 7.4mm as I pushed the calipers in further it got smaller 6.4 until I couldn't fit the calipers in any further. It turns out the inner barrel has a taper for the last 15mm of the inner barrel. Again this came as a surprise on such a low cost AEG. I haven't stripped the gearbox yet but I did find this good photo on Taiwangun showing the internals. I've pretty much set on this layout for now (apart from a 3D printed battery entender which is printing as I type this). If anyone is interested it's now Β£104 on Taiwangun and this is a mental price for such a good little AEG. I'm tempted to go buy one of the longer models as I think this whole series from DE could be very good value for money. *EDITED as I don't know which way a red dot goes on a rifle
