The SA80 range. While there's a few different makes available they don't seem to be very popular. IIRC gun jesus did a video on Forgotten Weapons about the G36 being melty and inaccurate. The conclusion was its bollocks

@Wild Weasel nice setup! Can you range out somewhere else at 40 & 60M. Interesting because I’ve found some buckings give strange “effects” as range increases. PS good ol’ fashioned Parker Hale gun oil is great for the trigger set, bolt lock mech etc.

if i recall he dissappeared a lot during the original lockdown, didn't want to be reminded that he wasn't allowed out to shoot, so i presume the same thing is going on now?

I have cleaned gearbox up and checked all gears which all look good.bushings however keep falling out.are they supposed to be a push fit?

No clue, I don't have much faith in expensive barrels. As long as it's straight and the inner finish isn't shit, pick whatever is cheapest. Been pleasantly surprised by a humble €25 AA 6.03x300 in my striker, I thought it was going to be crap but it's actually pretty good!

So, the Autobot 60° seems to have done a damn fine job coupled with a six g nub. 40mm groups!!! Rifle was clamped the whole shoot and the very first group shot is the one with the black ring round it. Range is 20 metres, black painted patch is 50mm square, bb's Geoff's naturals black in. 3g flavour, propellant is Mapp gas and she's shooting around 300fps with three clicks of hop. Now all I've got to do is sort out my bolt-lock again as the lube I'm using in 8° c makes it move up sluggishly causing the bolt to miss.

Still not a valid excuse for heresy.....

Not sure about the gloryhole grip, but this speaks to me.

This old tart is up for CQB action! Any day really (self employed) but I voted for a Saturday as it will give me Sunday to get over being "a old tart playing games" and its only 2 hours down the M1/A43/A34 so im all game. I would rather it be march than earlier as I really need this covid shite to be sorted as I cant risk the misses who is NHS getting something off me just because I'm "a old tart wanting to pew pew"

@Sitting Duck Hello mate, it took a while for the parts to come but I think the delivery services are struggling a bit at the moment in general, then I didnt have time because of work but... good news! It turns out it was the "trolley" bit (the bit that moves forward to make the connection?). Basically when I compared to the brand new one it was obvious how worn the old one was and I think during my initial modifications it did get damaged too, but not massively so it was quite subtle. I never would have guessed that such a small part would stop the whole gun from working! Anyway so I replaced the worn trolley with the new one but kept the rest of the trigger as is (I bought the exact same ICS trigger-switch so its all compatible) and I noticed straight away that the operation of the trigger and the movement of the cut off lever and selector place all felt better somehow (I also tightened the cut off lever which I think was too loose but it wasnt the main issue anyway). I then had a good look at the new gears and the shimming and all seemed good so I put all back together and it worked without the top half of the gearbox attached. However when I put back in the gun it was struggling to pull the piston back and I was pretty fed up at this point, however just before I took it all apart again I thought that id try a new battery and it worked flawlessly, so basically Ive been testing so much it drained a whole battery lol Anyway long story short it was the trolley that had worn, I think not helped by me potentially forcing the gearbox back into the gun and not having the selector plate in the right position so straining the trolley even more until a bit has snapped or split off. The new gears are all working well and new motor as well, plus I have learnt a huge amount about teching and working on V2 gearbox. At some point I will still rewire but I need a break now Thanks a lot for taking the time to write detailed replies and explaining how things work, appreciate that mate! Im a happy bunny now as that gun has been really good and I was gutted that id somehow broken it. Cant wait to skirmish again with it now

Echo 1 GAT I've fancied one for a while but wasn't sure about the build quality. I'm actually very impressed with it. I refinished the steel, the real ones were parkerised but I like the look of heat and oil finished steel. Just working on a couple of short mags for it and waiting for the foresight to arrive as it didn't come with the gun.

So finally turned up, and gotta say. I can't honestly think of a better rif for the price, the Urgi rail even has geiselle trades engraved! Only thing I had to change was the hop rubber as with 28s, it was inconsistent, but an old tm hop rubber, that I had to cut as the de rubber was shorter. And now it is shooting awesome. Changed the stock to a ctr as well, but we'll happy.

I call her Sasha! Lovely E&L. Suffers from the issue that all E&Ls seem to have where tightening the pistol grip seems to push the motor up and you cant get the motor height right. That's going to have to be looked at. Shes shimmed a little tight as well. But shes a real looker! Also arrived is this ugly thing. JLS RX4. Brand new.

What about MP5’s!!! Although popular here in the west they are not so in the land of the rising sun which is why we don’t see Marui making a recoil version of one. Although you never know what 2021 may bring.

They went through a rough quality control issue a few years back other manufactures took over their position as quality guns and they were never really able to regain ground. they need a game changer as there are far too many high quality M4s now.

very good shout that, i guess maybe proprietary magazines are putting people off? but then that doesn't stop the users of [anything that's not an m4 or ak] of this world..... only person i know who fields one was the ex-tech at my local shop, i guess maybe folks just see it as a scar impersonator? you see the whole "it's plastic so its shit" argument levied against guns like the f2000 too, i don't get it personally. don't get me wrong i love me a gun made of proper materials but if it's based on a gun that's mostly plastic then what's wrong with that? even more ironic that the people complaining about it are probably still buy glocks......

Yet another ‘itch’ that needed scratching , had a side folder ; TM AK74su and a fixed stock ; Cyma cm522 with ‘extras’ swapped and changed so decided I needed an under folder as well . So Cyma cm028s with yet more bits swapped out for and changed !

I’m just flabbergasted it has that sort of range. I mean some AEGs can’t shoot that far! Stick in a longer barrel with a tight bore which goes to the end of the suppressor and you have a decent bit of kit there i hazard to guess.

i dunno, for range work a shoulder stock would be very handy, especially for getting onto a red dot before the other guy shoots you. and nowt wrong with being a bit different as long as it has fieldable performance.

Will look nice paired up with my APC9.
