We few at UK-JTF are recruiting new team members over the winter with a view to attend MilSim events in the new year. We are a friendly bunch, who appreciate teamwork to achieve objectives and domination of the field. To apply, DM me your full Discord UserID, and I will invite you to apply/interview Here are the rules for Applying for UK-JTF. If requirements are not met you WILL be removed. Should you fail the interview first time command will speak with each other and possibly grant you a second interview should you want it. Rules are as following: 1. You must be 16 or up to apply for a standard rank but to become an officer you must atleast have a min of 2 years Airsofting with evidence and being 18+. 2. During the interviews you must be able to portray Tactical understanding and an ability for working as a team due to the fact we are very milsim based. We will be fairly critical with the applications. 3. Be prepared to answer a set amount of questions during the interview from either selected officers or NCO’s within the team. 4. Once the application has been vetted and Confirmed you will be expected to either supply us with video evidence of your gameplay so we can get a rough feel for your play style or you get into a game with command in order to be assessed and then moved over to a select team that we deem fit. (See # 6) 5. We are a localised team within the Beds and Herts region crossing over to Buckinghamshire. If you are outside of that area and cannot provide any form of evidence as to how you play or you cannot get to an assessment you will remain within the server should your application be accepted and you will be put on a probation period to provide evidence leaving you with a 3 month deadline. If this is not met your application will be suspended and you will be removed from the server till further notice. 6. Once you have completed all online interviews before you are allocated a team you will be required to atleast play one game with command at special ops HQ the jungle in Milton Keynes not only as a part of assessment but to see where you will be placed within the team dependant on how you fit in with the rest of them. We pride ourselves on being able to remain as professional yet laid back, we can’t allow any issues to slip through. 8 points

Scale Models Anyone?

Well, few years back I took on a promotion at work. Completely underestimated the stress it would incur and it was getting me down. Well, decided to take up a past time in order to wind down a bit and it really did help.! So, scale models. In particular WW2 armour for me. Here is a couple of photos of my recent build. An M4A3 Sherman.4 points -

Combat South is my local site and one i have visited the most over the years. Great site, great bunch of people run it and very much missed by everyone in the South. I tend to judge every site now by Combat South, as the standard they need to live up to. Russ is working hard to find a new site. CSW will be back ( sorta )2 points

Since firefox doesn't like me I'll add a response lol SAA pmag leaked overnight so i just got done putting teflon thread sealer on all the gaskets and valves but i would test the GP valve on the CAG 416D but its currently stripped down till i get a response back from blacksheep arms on cerakote prices.... Green upper/lower receiver and FDE on the rail, controls and buffer tube. As it currently sits color wise.1 point -
Yep that's the idea. Shopping list below. 2x Cables, 1x socket, 1xclip from the u94 PTTs 2x 12mm waterproof momentary push to make buttons. That style because that's what the real steel ones use and I'm hoping they'll give a decent tactile feel. Undecided if I 3d print a housing like the code red nx dual PTT or use an off the shelf project box.1 point

The quick change barrel system is a cool concept but not worth the $250-500 its priced at over 10-15 minutes of work it's not like the barrel gets hot in airsoft so i find it more of a novelty item for people who test parts over a game item its not like changing a barrel is going to make you able to CQB after playing with a 16-20 inch barrel so it's not really viable to spend that much time thinking its a game changer. Well I'll be trying out .28G Elite Force BB's today so you night owls will see the results.1 point -
How to Get Cheap Propane?
Lollingsgrad reacted to hitmanNo2 for a topic
You can use that type of bottle. It should have the same threads. Though I'd imagine a bottle significantly advertised as a propane/butane mix with 30-40% butane would be detrimental in some way compared to regular propane which has a very small percentage of butane mixed in e.g. lower FPS, lower ROF, less effective in cold weather etc. I don't know if that complicates matters for refilling these with straight propane though.1 point -
How to Get Cheap Propane?
Lollingsgrad reacted to hitmanNo2 for a topic
The likes of Coleman propane is dirt cheap in the US, sub $4 for the 453g compared to our usual price of £15 or so hence "propane is so much cheaper than green gas". If you're smart about your purchases of green/buy in bulk, there's not much of a discount to be had buying cans of Rothenberger compared to green. Now if you want to get into decanting the big bottles of propane to refill the small Coleman cans, that's when things get considerably cheaper. I don't think there's any legal issue with doing it. You just need the space and know how/technique. And the coupling adapter of course https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Safety-Propane-Refill-Adapter-Lp-Gas-Cylinder-Tank-1lb-Coleman-Heater-Coleman/312938006125?hash=item48dc8f066d:g:hpkAAOSwAO5d0mDL1 point -

Impressive! I did a lot of these as a kid. I did a few WWI aircraft in my 20s when I gave up smoking too.1 point -
Hop Units
Cr0-Magnon reacted to Iceni for a topic
I actually quite like the cheap plastic rotary units. https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/hop-up-chambers/zci-rotary-hopup-chamber-plastic-m4 I find rotary units in general don't need a metal arm. They apply force to the nub in a more direct fashion and have better arm holding. The arms in both the ZCI plastic and CNC are the same. You do sometimes have to modify the ZCI ones to fit, The ring itself can sometimes rub on the gearbox / gearbox area. Filing a chamfer onto the back side of the ring has corrected this on a couple of M4's for me.1 point -

Guys, one of my friends who runs a Polish airsoft store will soon make a huge order from WGC. He promised me attractive prices as he got a deal with them so I told him there’s a great interest in TM MK18, mags and custom parts on this forum. He will make us an offer if we give him a list of items we would like to get. Shipping from PL to UK is not expensive so it may be a great deal to everyone. Obviously individuals will be purchasing stuff through the store so it’s not a group purchase or anything like that so no payment is needed upfront but he’d like to know what items to order. Anyone is interested?1 point -

Audio sample attached, talking and whispering. (Yes I was in the garden, not behind the camera). To answer the feedback / screech question: Scenario 1 Racals transmitting, ambient mics ON, receiving radio on speaker. Yes you get feedback from 3-6ft ish (volume dependent) Scenario 2 Racals transmitting, ambient mics OFF, receiving radio on speaker. Yes you get feedback from 6inches ish. (Volume dependent) Scenario 3 Racals transmitting, ambient mics ON, receiving radio on headset. No feedback. Even when in contact. Scenario 4 Racals transmitting, ambient mics OFF, receiving radio on headset. No feedback. Even when in contact PXL_20201102_215628578.mp4 And as if to illustrate my point, the cable on one of my wosport headsets just died for the second time. The tests were done with a working wosport headset on the receiving end.1 point

Today I made a DIY npas using stock floating valve and m3x8mm set screw. Works just like any other npas but I think 8mm is too long and eventually 5mm screw would be enough. I was able to get consistent FPS so I think it makes no sense in spending money on the commercial stuff. This is my second npas (first I made for the vfc mp5 gbb), it’s a simple job anyone can do.1 point
