Not sure this is much of a discussion as I know most will agree but can we somehow make it clear to sellers on here that £10 off the price from a retailer (plus postage and Paypal fees?) isn't the bargain they claim. Regardless of condition, one of the main benefits of buying from a retailer is that you have legal rights should something go wrong. As someone who has sold a number of RIF's through the site, I have always been as honest as possible about current condition but there's no way I can guarantee the piston isn't going to break after 100 shots or something. Knowing this, I have to accept that sellers rightfully expect a significant reduction from the actual new price.

It makes sense tbf, there are people who only need certain features (say AB, battery protection and programmable burst), they get a cheaper option that provides such features without the extra options. But I get what you mean, for the price tag you should be getting more out of a basic Titan/Aster. Was hoping for BTC to release their Spectre MK3, which combines the best of optical and mechanical systems (trigger microswitch, sector and selector are optical sensors) but heh, considering the availability of BTCs in general, I guess we'll never get the chance to see one. I considered it for a minute, but then microswitch for the sector gear and proprietary trigger put me off

Personally i think it's pretty despicable of Gate to limit the functionality of the hardware to force you to buy firmware.

So I thought about it some more! Thanks for your contributions. I went with sensible this time. The WA2000 in real life is semi auto. The Ares is bolt action. That's a good enough excuse not to go for it. Maybe one day someone will do a proper WA2000 (The Asahi is just too much money for something that is not amazing) I picked up the E&L AKM plus a good 15kg worth of bb's. I really have been smitten by my other AK's so I reckon it's the best choice! It means I can also pick up the Zenitco and maybe a KA VSS next month

Forget the AA unit, You'll get better results with a proper hop arm. Cheap scope is a fixed 4x40 one. I used mine for years and I got it for £6 new. Now I'm using the same brand 6x40 that costed £12. They have better picture than any variable scope I tried, including expensive ones. I'd agree with @Skara about sniping is not (much) harder but very different, but he said leaf suits are shit so he is my enemy now. Success is measured with different metrics in sniping. If you count the kills then it's "harder" to snipe than AEGing. Different mindset, different goals.

the odin is a fantastic product and imo absolutely essential kit for mid cap users, but i can't say i'm sold on the idea of using it to fill gbb mags.

Apologies for the awful quality, but my camera is terribad. The rail system is terrible for mounting scopes, so I'm going to try and do it with both the rails AND scope mount. Also the stubby mags don't feed properly and it only fires at about 1.3J. I'm going to give it to a local tech to sort out, because I've had it up to here with my DMR converted m14 not doing what I want it to and I'm not opening that gearbox again xD The OD m14 is a TM m14 with full Guarder reinforced internals in the gearbox, with an SP120 spring and an ASG high torque motor. On the externals, it's an ASG universal bipod and a Guarder rail system. The faux wood m14 is a cyma m14 with stock internals. Both have a prometheus 6.03mm barrel with r-hop patch from Umbrella Armory. I massively went off r-hops since the one in my VSR is just outperformed by Maple Leaf rubbers, but the Umbrella Armory ones in my AEGs are fantastic and I highly recommend them. It's a shame, because it's probably my best looking gun.

The tests were done with a working wosport headset on the receiving end.

I would add that if you are 'inspired' by any of the YT airsoft 'celebrity' snipers such as Nov or Wicking C*ntstain (trademark pending) that all their footage is stitched together from across a game day. Aforementioned twat Licking Bogbrush I know for a fact, used shots from two different spots on our local site at two different times of the day to show 1 'kill'. Anyway, the point is don't be fooled by all that balls if that is what you are aiming for.

Since i posted ive been chatting to a lad on a Crye selling page on Facebook and have managed to track down a pair of Gen 3's in fat boy size which he is happy to sell. They're also cheaper than the Roman keks which im pretty chuffed at. But yeah Roman or another guy i was pointed in the direction of was Denis Lipovec, been chatting to him and he has some cool stuff not quite on the level of Romans though.

After a bit of wear and an engraving service (I know the font isn't quite right but I'm happy with it) I also improved the hop so it shoots 0.25 quite well.

Just brought a new Airsoft Matserpiece pistol grip and trigger for my Limcat Hi-Capa so much better than the standard plastic TM one! Oh and I went and brought a Tapp Airsoft drum mag for it!
