  1. Let me strongly disagree with that. On one side, yes they do bring more people into the sport. But let's be honest? what kind of people do they attract? All these channels (KM, Nov, Silo, Wag, Cleanshot) do is showing the bad side of airsoft, so cheating, calling out, arguments, pain fetish. If I were "new", by watching those videos I'd think that most airsoft players are a bunch of cunts who only cheat and get salty, when in reality it's the complete opposite. I've seen it in my club. Last year we got some new kids (13/14yo) who, on their first game, were already calling out people for supposedly not taking their hits, when in reality they weren't even close to hitting their targets (yep, good luck hitting someone at 70+ metres with 0.2s, stock guns and 1J limit). Turns out they became interested in airsoft because they watched Noobritsch and Licking Cumstain. So no, those channels are NOT good for airsoft, they cater the wrong people and show a distorted reality. Plus Nov's just trying to sell more of his shit through false advertisement.

  2. this is by no means an isolated opinion. i sometimes hear arguments such as "so and so isn't as bad in real life" or "that's just edits to make it look like he's doing [insert example of poor sportsmanship here]" problem is as you say it's the impression that's being communicated to an otherwise ignorant audience, meaning at best we get people with a false sense of what's considered acceptable behavior on a site, or at worst we're losing out on players who think that's what the hobby is like.

  3. One of my grievances with many airsofters and their YouTube channels results in their portrayal of the sport/hobby. While there are those who provide a better representation than others there are a significant number who seem to pursue views and likes regardless of the potential damage. My argument has always been that these people are the public face of the hobby and as such they are diplomats for it. A point of consideration is how many aspiring airsofters have had the idea firmly stepped on by their parents as a result of parents going to YouTube to try get an idea of what it is that little Timmy is interested in this time. I wager by simply searching for "airsoft" on YouTube that you're likely to be faced with some of the most disgraceful examples of the hobby available. While I think social media and YouTube can be positive platforms, we see on a daily basis how toxic and cancerous these platforms are when they're misused and abused. Is there a moral and ethical obligation to portray the sport positively? Not by any means but these high profile YouTubers need to be aware of what they are putting out there. Sadly, like many people, I suspect that ethics and morality fall by the wayside once money is involved.

  4. After reading through all this seems to me like most people are basically on the same page really lol. Every game I've played has been single indoors, auto mostly allowed outside, never really had a big issue in that regard. It always seems to me like there's very few issues you can't overcome with a real simple ammo limit, just a few hundred BBs on your person. If idiots want to build the most wanky over-shoot guns in the world they'll very soon run out of shots. Most people will abide by the rule, I get you can't frisk everyone leaving the safe zone but if you see some sneaky c-bag pulling extra mags out of the depths of a backpack mid-game you just let the staff know, same as any other cheating, I don't think the culprits will last long. Every event of airsoft I've ever participated in personally has been better with ammo limits, it's the best, easiest and cheapest way to level the playing field as much as possible that I know of. R/Semi only outdoors clearly makes DMRs the only option as mentioned then it becomes even more of a money war over who's got the best upgrades to get that bit more range and that side of things is bad enough already with the current model and only serves to disadvantage the budget guns further.

  5. Problem with charging more is most folk (myself included) like to think we're getting something for our money. If a site charges me twice as another i'd expect to see something more than what its competitors are offering.

  6. "I dun't get why dat gun gets so much hate cuz dat gun smax, bro." I don't hate it, I just have no interest in playing against someone who would want to use it in the manner that it's intended to be used, or who talks like that. It is quite fun to watch it in action, but it does beg the question of why not just allow rate-capped full auto.

Hey mate. Currently have a couple of packages sitting at Stanstead waiting for clearance, hopefully be here by Wednesday. Motors, gears, inner barrels and springs 🙂 These will be on my website including 247mm. Don't look for them on eBay as I'm winding my account down on there.

  11. Yeah, i dont mind it when you're getting better facilities, or in the particular case the site employs more marshalls who actually enforce the rules.

  12. I think you should buy the mp7 and use still use a pistol as mentioned mp7s are stupidly cool. and I used pistols only plenty of times at the mall and had so much fun. No major disadvantage over using a pistol vs a gbb really. If anything it’s lighter and easier. plus the multiglam squads get well pissed off if you take a few out with only a pistol that’s worth the entry right there

  13. Twin pistols are for winners Any accuracy reduction of a short barrel etc are offset by the effect of natural pointing. In a close up situation theres no detriment to a pistols accuracy and the pointing element is likely to give you first shot accuracy, no need to actively aim etc At one event I was a total gremlin breaking every gun I attempted to use or chronoed at excessive rates, I had already loaned out my normal guns and as I was leading the faction I had other things that I needed to be getting on with. So for game one I went out as a demented screaming idiot leading from the front a throwing pyro. Ready for game 2 a team mate had sorted out my pistol and handed me one of his too I then spent the rest of the day as a demented screaming dual pistol player

  14. Running a pistol in CQB is wrong. It is so very, very wrong. You need to take the John Woo approach. Two hands = Two pistols And if two pistols is wrong, I don't wanna be right 😄

    GBB Pistol Only in CQB.

Gbb pistol only for a cqb is awesome, i prefer it actually, but there is a couple of huge advantages to using an MP7. Advantage 1: you have an excuse to buy a TM MP7, which is a cool looking replica, Advantage 2: you'll have a TM MP7, did i mention it is a cool looking replica ? If you want to run pistol only though, the trick is that you need to do a roll and shoot like in John Woo movie, just look at anything made by John Woo, as soon as you do a roll, you dont miss, and it magically adds 250 ammo in your mag

  18. We had something similar at an old site called sou kula. The day was normal skirmish rules. Semi indoors and just generally being respectful. Then the last game was an opt in one where you were put inside a large room (about 50ft by 50ft) with walls and barricades. Absolutely anything went other than there was a rope running down the centre that you couldn’t cross, so you always stayed on your own side. Smoke grenades and full auto gbbrs with tracers indoors. It was amazing.

  20. Now, that's a good idea. Even if it's only a short game with ammo limits, just to get people thinking about it.

  21. I'd like to see sites, maybe all of them ?, to run games alternately, one game with ammo limits/semi, the next game "anything goes", & so on, some players would experience an alternative to their usual playing style, & some sites might find certain settings work better for for their clientele, & maybe their income stream ?.

  22. I'm in favour of voluntary ammo limits for mil/filmsim, for those who want to sign up for that. Imposing it as a blanket rule on a site is unlikely to get full compliance though, and every rule that you make and then don't enforce just encourages players to ignore any other rule that they don't like either. So I'd prefer firmer marshalling of fewer rules, i.e. don't be a hose-monster versus limited ammo and don't be a hose-monster.

    G&Gs Supposed new line

The gun looks to be available for roughly €300 on some San Marino stores, as per my prediction. Just need to wait for the handguard to come out so I can decide whether or not buying it or getting one made out of carbon fibre from my friend Mac Airsoft. A bit disappointed for that stock wobble

  24. Some people swear a pistol is the ideal tool for CQB, and I suspect they may be right. Pistols are more pointable and easy to get on aim when you are hampered by goggles or face masks. And gas blowbacks have a faster lock time than electric guns. I had intended to put it to the test, before I injured myself and had to give up skirmishing. Try it and see.

  26. thing is, doing it yourself might be a chore, but it's a learning experience, and once you've got to that level by putting in the hard work you're going to be in a position to maintain a good gun because you'll know what needs to be done. whereas a new guy just yanking a gun out of a box isn't going to know any of that, sure it might shoot well for the first while but then the barrel gets clogged, groupings open up, and the inexperienced owner hasn't a clue how to fix it.

    Biohazard Airsoft

An indoor CQB site In Stevenston on the West Coast of Scotland, in an Old Abandoned Chemical Factory. Cons first, to get them out of the way. Run via Facebook, with an almost complete lack of persistent, useful information about site rules, age limits, or even how the game is played. A sod to find. My satnav wanted nothing to do with the postcode, and then sent me off down a blocked off road. Give yourself plenty of extra time to find it. 9am for a 10am start translated to hires still trailing in at 10:15, doubtless due to the above. A pretty perfunctory safety brief, not very clearly delivered, in a safe zone with poor acoustics. Combined with the lack of site info, rentals couldn't have had much of an idea what to actually do. Chronograph theatre. Voluntary, no tags, trusting players about their BB weights, and no chronoing in-game that I saw. Basically just trusting us. The site isn't that big, and you could very nearly shoot down the whole length of it. Aggravatingly inadequate tagging: one red tag on one arm of one team, nothing on the other. Why they don't tag both teams on both arms is beyond me - milliseconds matter in mixed-up CQB. Pros: All that said, in game was a good experience. They know the site well and make good use of it. There's a lane up each side with plenty of cover, and a maze of rooms in the middle, making it viable to both hang back and exchange fire, or go fighting room-to-room, as you prefer. I shot off a lot more BBs than I expected. A decent variety of games: deathmatch, fall back, find the $THINGs, hold the points, rush the objective. Good active friendly, calm but firm marshalling, and I was particularly pleased to see and hear them dealing with folk taking the piss with semi-auto ROF. Short walks to respawn, and fast paced games with little idle time. They're friendly, responsive and helpful on Facebook, but you do have to ask. The actual airsofting was a pretty good experience, which is what matters. Having much clearer site info available up front would address most of the other issues. I'd like to see a lot more in-game chronoing, but that's an issue at most sites. At £20 for a day, or £30 with a hire, it's good value, and not run by or infested with nobbers. I'll likely give it another go. Ho ho ho.

  29. Some very tense games today, had a few issues with a plate carrier/plot armour type earlier on but rest of the day was pretty on point. Seen to have found the favour of the leaf gods apparently, spent a good chunk of a fallback game hiding behind a bit of a hedge that had no right stopping as much plastic as it did. Was pleasantly surprised to find the lct worked pretty much flawlessly all day without major issue. Of course managed to lose a mag, the hubris of friction based holders....

  37. Don’t let anyone try and tell you the ‘accurate’ right way to wear it The ‘right’ way is on the trouser leg, but those dirty cut throats didn’t follow dress regulations What you will need is a toggle rope. Not nearly rolled up, but probably around your waist. Ready made toggle ropes come at a heafty price, but can be made. This isn’t the right version, but with a good sized piece of real rope and a decent broom handle etc you can compare the above and below videos and could make a convincing example .... and lets not miss an opportunity to mention my unbeaten tradition at our branch dinner nights to be last man standing in the bar every time - the first being one of the last two in the bar in the early hours with a modern green bereted officer until he decided it was bedtime. My only problem was the early morning start that followed to head out for a site visit, but a final fresh air walk and a couple of pints of water enabled me to wake up and be ready before the calls I had booked came through making sure I could roll out of bed

  39. @B.S awesome loadout pics, and once i have some more money i intend on making my own ww2 loadout, most likely british airborne troops at arnhem. I have a mk2 sten i bought recently through the classifieds, and i had the same issue with loading the mags.... until i saw a video from northeast themselves that show them using a speed loader. They hold a finger either side of the feed lips to keep bbs from popping out either side and then use the speed loader to force the bbs straight down through the top of the feed lips into the magazine. Its a bit fiddly, but its less of a ballache than loading 32 bbs by hand Pic of my sten included below, posing besides james hollands new book i acquired last week. Im also wondering if there is a way to get a barrel assembly seperate as a spare part, so i can get the end of the outer barrel machined out. That way i can fit a longer inner barrel to use with the mock suppressor

  43. Worse than that. Since most sites now also allow locked DMRs. You may as well just run a dmr or sniper. If you can build a DSG and lock it to semi, you have a game breaking gun. By those fairly common rules. You could run a 400FPS HPA with the world lightest binary trigger. I like to shoot in bursts. It is generally enough and it is kinder to your gun and battery. However, I would like the option to either hold down fire to hit a running target at range or to suppress a building while my team assaults it. I am not promoting overkill. However, There is nothing wrong with raining down holy fire from a box mag, as long as you stop the moment you hear hit. Honestly, to me that is totally fine.

  44. Not generally enforced here, but to perhaps shed some light perhaps its a way of forcing the hicap heroes to stop dumping half a mag into every bush that twitches then claim they couldnt hear the screams of hit over the sound of their arp. I dont mind auto, but it does strike me that a lot of folk dont seem to remember their rifle has a selector switch.

  47. In a YouTube video I watched, they point out that Novritsch's team state that they allow for a 20% variance in power. Which is typical of my experience with them and their loop holes. I say that because adding to basket you get to choose 1J or 1.13J, then if they send the wrong one, yep you guessed...they're both within 20% of each other!

  49. Okay. My airsoft day has been spoiled even before starting. A little bit of boring context first. We live in a sea town, we don't really play (as in organized games) in the summer, we usually call it quits around mid June and resume in early September. If we feel like playing we gather a bunch of people from different clubs and have a skirmish somewhere. Then we have tournaments, two types mainly (4 hours and 8 hours, one year we do the 4h ones, the year after we do 8h, you get the idea) with some 12/24h events thrown in, but they are quite rare. At the 4 hour long ones, the minimum age threshold is 16, 18 for the longer 8 hours ones as there are more "safety" risks involved. More on that later if anyone's interested. Due to the slowly dying community here, in the past we've resorted to inviting other clubs so we could reach a reasonable number of players (15 total, on average), including the cheater team I have mentioned several times, both in the OP and in various threads/statuses. We also have a few father/son couples playing with us, they really make it fun as they are always on opposing teams so they can settle every affair they might have (seriously tho, they are freaking hilarious at times). We happen to have this F&S pair who are friends with the cheater club's president, so they always push to invite them and often play with them during the summer break. The dad is a cool cat, he just wants to sling plastic with his friends from both clubs, fair player who calls his hits and brings laughter. His son, though, has been behaving like a cunt for the past year or so. Decent player with a great ego, he couldn't attend tournaments because of his age (he's turning 18 in a short time), the only one he could attend was a bit disappointing for him as another person was picked. Always tries to stand out (the bad way) from the crowd, expects to be praised for the individual plays (team game? Hello?) and, most importantly, gets super upset when someone points out any mistakes he might have made. /boring prelude. Let's jump to present day, I'm organizing the 2nd official game after the summer break. The 2 people aforementioned said that they wouldn't play because they were busy with family stuff (completely fine with it, family trumps everything else). 6 people, shit, not enough, so I started asking other clubs too, when I called the cheater club's president he told me they were playing with another club (completely fine with it as well) and that the 2 guys were joining him (NOT fine with that). Now, if you join a soccer team, the team expects you to play with them. You can't join X club but then play with Y only, it's not very respectful of X. I did just call the kid asking what was it about and he told me his will to permanently join the other club because we never let him play tournaments. Now, let's pause that for a second. Since he joined us he could not participate in tournaments because he wasn't of age: 2018 (16yo min) he was 15 2019 (18yo min) he was 16 2020 (16yo min) we got the 'rona. 2021 (same 2020 series, postponed because of the virus) he'd be 18, so he could play and we are always happy to have new people in the competitive team. I pointed that out to him and he suddenly hung up the phone. Oh, we also have a somewhat bland "don't come back policy" that both guys are well aware of, if a member has an issue with the team or one of the members, we try to discuss it and come to a solution together. If the member leaves without actually giving an explanation, joins another club but then wants to come back, heh, train has been missed mate. We actually try to solve problems. I fully expect them to regret their decision and try to join us back within 2 months. So yeah, tomorrow will be a sad skirmish, regardless of what happens..
