  2. Because it’s impossible for someone up to no good to paint part of a genuine firearm and therefore reduce suspicion. If parents are going to allow their 12 year old child to run around the street with a replica handgun capable of firing a projectile at relatively high velocity, then someone phones the police to report it, regardless of colour, religion, gender, sexuality, shoe size, whatever, there is going to be an appropriate response. Instead of the mother bleating on about how the police were over the top and their delicate little cherub is now traumatised, perhaps they should take a bit of responsibility and understand the concern raised.

  3. Going by the photo it wasn’t two-tone under the VCRA. The blue is less than half of the pistol, and it’s also not a designated VCRA colour. Blue should be bright blue. The blue slide complies with American standards for a training pistol. If we step away from the outrage for a moment - police respond to firearms call out, place individual in handcuffs, establish the circumstances, remove handcuffs.

  8. Some of you may remember my dad's airsoft bow project. Well unsurprisingly he never finished it but he's decided to pick it back up and rework it using his new knowledge and experience. Then someone suggested putting a trishot barrel on it so obviously now we have to do it. Just need to get our hands on a boneyard shotty for the hop up and feed system...

  9. Purchases made within last 60 days or so after I’ve found I’m not being laid off and coming back to work: - WE G17 and 4 magazines and Nuprol paddle holster (missing a screw), second hand from user Pigeon_Haris - FAB DEFENSE COBRA folding brace for Glocks from AliExpress - Nuprol NX400 torch&laser combo, extended Glock magazine (Raven or Vorsk, can’t remember - same shit) at Airsoft-Imports.co.uk, waiting to be picked up when I attend next game day.. - Razor UH-1 holographic sight with 3x magnifier from AliExpress (£115 bargain! It’s so good quality that I’m taking it with me on my next holiday and gonna check if it holds zero on real 5.56 firearm) - Magpul copy angled foregrip for M-LOK from AliExpress - CYMA CM.077 Antonov (AK-102 with Magpul style furniture) + 3 high cap magazines + Magpul style foregrip + Nuprol Eotech clone, almost new from user Zargorius - 3 mid-cap CYMA AK magazines (same style as high-caps that came with CM.077) as well as folding Zhukov style stock made by CYMA for said AK, 3x 120rd M4/AR-15 magazines made by Kublai from TaiwanGun.com - ICS HERA CQR SSS with one mag and a 7.4v lipo, upgraded 30k motor and maxx model hop unit with pdi w hold hop rubber. As well as an ICS aluminium o-ring air nozzle and ultimate cylinder head with m95 spring. Second hand from user Keith_1701 - 4x second hand Ares mid cap magazines because said Kublai ones while very nice, they wobble out of ICS HERA.... from user Avi, not here yet as I just made payment - Zenit.co (Chinese copy with trademarks) B10M lower handguard from AliExpress for my CYMA CM.045C (changed handguard to Plum due to lack of availability of wooden handguard sets, original CYMA aluminium handguard is horrendous and makes gun too damn front heavy) - ICS MX5 CES-P MS1 S3 SFS + Nuprol NP Point HD-1 Red Dot Sight (not sure if it’s working, don’t have batteries to try it out) + 11.1v lipo + swordfish rail (assuming CYMA make), 4 ICS hi-cap magazines, CYMA dual-mag hi-cap (that one funnily enough fits and feeds no problem but only SRC mid-caps are fitting this gun, every other make is slightly too big to fit into the mag well), bunch of freebies (patches etc.) via Prefire.co.uk from user Nickorellidimus - 5x SRC 50rnd MP5 “mid-caps” (more like low-caps amrite boys? Mag empty in about 2s firing from new MP5 on 11.1v) from AirsoftPro.cz just because I hate hi-cap rattle with burning rage - shop is good but postage to UK is outlandish... might as well order from HongKong. - got two-tone CZ-P09 with threaded outer barrel and raised sights with 1x CO2 mag and 3x green gas mags from a local dude that figured Airsoft isn’t for him after all, super bargain - need to get unpainted slide though and they seem to be out of stock everywhere... - also was scammed trying to buy two-tone ARP9 but got money back thanks to combined efforts of moderator L3wisD and owner of the KydexCustoms - Taig who has handed over evidence to local police (scammer was from the same city. Thank you again! -Also I have nearly new Tokyo Marui Kel-Tec KSG lined up after payday, sadly without any extras but still a bit cheaper than new from shop so there’s that. Now that I listed all that I’m terrified of myself and if I had a wife, she would definitely rip me a new one and file for a divorce 😂 Do I NEED all of that? Do I have storage space for it? No. But I sure as hell DO WANT it. Now I’m eating nothing but dry rice for the next 3 months 👌🤣 Some of the new arrivals pictured together: Other than Kublai magazines refusing to stay latched inside HERA no lemons. Very pleased overall.

  10. In my (limited) experience of Ann Summers shops, I’ve found it difficult to get chucked out. Though I was in a branch with my ex of the time (and her daughter) who would have been in designer clothing, so they were hoping for big sales. They allowed us in with her daughter provided she stayed in the front half of the shop - which she did, whilst knocking over half of the displays. Back on topic — battery recycling bins should be treated with some caution. There have been fires in the UK as a result of normal battery recycling, and often by 9 volt battery’s. Unless you tape over the contacts there is a higher chance of them being shorted and overheating. I would save the more unusual batteries such as LiPos for more suitable recycling points - not just any battery bin at any shop, but a recycling centre or electronics shop etc and to tell someone what you are dropping off

  11. Race can be a touchy subject at the moment, but I know Camden well, there is a problem with gangs, drugs and violence. Young people having guns is not uncommon. I think even if he was white it would have happened the same. Plus 12 year olds can be as tall as adults nowadays, its not likely the civilian calling it in said specifically that a child was playing with a gun. I think the police response was in proportion to the info and what they know of the area. You also have to understand the police would have checked who lived at the property, if anyone in that household had been flagged to the police before for any reason they would have known. If this kids older brother for instance had been picked up for violent crimes or drugs/knife offences the household are lucky the doors didnt get kicked off with armed coppers swarming in! Just shows us we all need to be careful with our RIFs/Ifs and even equipment. I got a comment from a neighbour the other week carrying my belt rig from the car to the house asking me if I was in the police.

  12. Ugh yes obviously it's a race issue here. They would of just sent a polite letter asking if it was a real or fake gun if it was a white family. I am fed up of everything being a race issue. This seems an entirely proportionate response to a firearms call in. If people want RIFs and IFs they need to not be stupid with them or expect this to happen to you. Kid had the gun in view of the public which should never happen and is why kids shouldn't be allowed them. Parents fault not the kids as it sounds like they knew he had it from the article. People act like the police were just raiding the house for fun they did their job. My dad was very clear with me when I was a kid about an air pistol. Where I could take it. What I could shoot you can also bet I was a kid and didn't follow it exactly so he dismantled it and put it in a draw. Play stupid games win stupid prizes. As for the police not knowing what two tone is. I bet a lot don't and have no idea what airsoft is either and that is fine with me as I won't be running around a shopping centre with my two tone assault rifle screaming "IT'S ONLY A TOY" as that is asking for a Darwin award.

    THE TM MWS thread

First game out with the MWS/Mini Urgi build, and what can say about this truly fantastic RIF that every other owner hasn't already said!? Apart from the fact it's all bloody true! 😁 I should of moved over to a GBBR a long time ago, and anyone on the fence reading this thread I urge you to take the plunge! The performance and consistency is incredible, and with a zero'd Vortex Crossfire it's so much fun to use. Taking out a guy who's using a HPA minigun, with a single shot is extremely satisfying... 😂 (skirmish fun times)

  14. Agreed, many UK retailers ignore both the spirit and letter of the law in order to make sales. IFs should be gopping to the point where no self-respecting gangsta wannabe would be caught dead with one. It's a tough call for the cops, they can only go by the report that they've received. Do you think the witness said "Yeah, it's half blue", or did they just report a firearm? Want to bet if Kai there was racking the slide / dropping the mag? And let's not jump to any conclusions about the witnesses' ethnicity or intentions either. While I accept the legality of the family's actions, I do have to question the wisdom of it. That's (ostensibly) an IF, so you're looking at an adult purchase and £60 minimum, it's not something picked up for £5 at the market. Why you'd want an inner city lad in an area with a gangs and firearms problem to be playing with / training with a mock-Glock escapes me. You've got yourself into a million pound house, don't mess it up now. Make no mistake though, it is legal, and if we don't defend the rights of owners even in cases like this, who will be left to speak up when they come for us? Let's just hope this doesn't result in knee jerk changes to the law. And rights or wrong aside, it is a cromulent lesson in why we should be very circumspect with RIFs or IFs, even on our own property. I was in a Facebook group recently where some daft lad had posted video of himself test-shooting across his (multiple) neighbours' gardens, in Grangemouth of all places (remember this debacle?), and it was just:

    We M16a1 FPS?

I have a WE 416 which is the same mechanism internally. My checklist would be as follows (in order of easiest first). 1. if you have an Npas fitted check that first. They can come unscrewed due to vibration. If they come out too far (past the threads) then very weird things can happen. 2. Try another gas. Even on a game day someone will likely give you a squirt of Nuprol 2 to try. (In my experience its not often the gas if you are using a decent brand, but it’s easy to eliminate without stripping stuff down so worth eliminating early). Remember to empty the old gas first. 3. visually inspect the nozzle. If it’s broken it will need replacing so you will need to strip the bolt so you will need to jump to step 6 (note it doesn’t mean there won’t be a problem with steps 4 & 5). 4. Check/replace the hop rubber. A worn or Perforated hop rubber can cause some strange FPS variations and is fairly easy to eliminate. Even if there are no obvious holes a small hole can cause issues, or just the rubber hardening up with age can mean they no longer seal well against the barrel. 5. check the the magazine gas router for damage and the seal between the gas router and the bolt. 6. Check the bolt. Does the bolt carrier glide smoothly. Does the blow back unit slide smoothly in the bolt carrier and snap back under spring tension. Disassemble the unit and check all the springs are in good shape and the other parts are all ok with no cracks or deformities. Any cracked parts will need replacing. Minor surface deformities (ie the lugs in the pic above can sometimes be carefully filed or sanded). 7. As a last resort check the tension on the hammer spring as it might be light striking. If none of the above work swear a lot as thats all the easy to fix stuff that I can think of that would cause strange FPS variations. At this point unless you really know what you are doing it is probably worth taking it to a tech. Hope that is of some use.

  17. To keep it’s IF status it needs to have more than half of it as clear or a designated VCRA colour: transparent bright red bright orange bright blue bright yellow bright green bright pink bright purple White and black are not designated colours. Your ‘red hexigans’ might qualify if they are both bright and cover over 50% of the gun. When the VCRA was still a bill there was an explcit offence of painting (modifying an IF into a RIF) whether there would have been a defence or not. The wording that passed into law potentially covers painting / modifying with a defence. You might be able to legitimately repaint once you have established a defence

In this case the bow already comes with that built in. The cams are adjustable to change the draw strength and length and the hold strength Also this one actually has a hop up and changeable magazines so is already a lot more usable

  22. Some extracts from the Guardian story: The Metropolitan police have defended officers who arrested and handcuffed a 12-year-old boy seen with a toy gun, saying they acted in line with training and expectations. .... son Kai was led away by armed officers and detained in a police vehicle during the raid.... .... responding to a report by a member of the public that they had seen a male with a firearm at the property, eventually dearrested Kai after establishing that it was a BB or plastic pellet gun. .... I told them almost straight away that there were no weapons in the house, only a toy gun belonging to my son, but we were shouted at to put our hands above our heads and walk one by one out to the street. We were all terrified.” She and her two daughters, aged 16 and 23, were evacuated from the property while it was searched by firearms officers. and from the BBC: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-53538740 Officers were called to a home in Camden on 17 July after a passer-by said they saw a "black male holding a firearm on the sofa". Kai Agyepong was held while officers searched the home, and was released when a plastic pellet gun was found. While searching the home, officers verified that the gun was a BB gun, which is similar in size and shape to a viable handgun. So from what information we have: A sighting of what looked like a gun was reported It was held by a black male An armed response team went out The exact status of each person held isn't given. In the Guardian Kai was arrested, detained & rearrested, the others were 'evacuated' at gunpoint. They may have been arrested, they may have been detained with or without handcuffs. It may have been that he was arrested as he matched the description given. There is nothing to show whether the police attending suspected anything they saw was a gun or whether they instantly recognised it as a BB gun on sight. They searched the property and found the BB gun, and once the situation was clear rearrested Kai (and also the others if they had been arrested/detained) The family have the right to enquire whether they were treated differently due to Kai being black, from what I've read its a standard response to a firearms report.

The focus of this should remain on the legalities and nothing else, that way logic and common sense has a better chance of prevailing - two things she has no grasp of whatsoever.

Not going to bother with the tactical stuff yet. thanks for the advice.

  30. I don't blame the police for taking what some view as a heavy handed attitude, what people forget is the police ultimately will come across firearms, likely misused ?, a lot more than the man on the street, that in turn will then feature in their training & approach in the future, a literal snowball effect !. Maybe we should be really questioning the stupidity of ANYONE the brandishes a rif/if in public view, even if your stood on private land ?. I'm 52, grew up playing "cops & robbers" etc on our estate, our toy guns were in some cases very realistic, but times were different so nobody gave us a second look, & the use of firearms in crimes was very rare indeed, & forget young "gangsters" taking pot shots at each other, unheard of. BUT, nobody under the age of 30ish knows those times, they've all grown up in a society where gun violence is almost a daily event, & the authorities have very publicly had to raise their response to exceed what they face, so anybody that gets jumped on by the plod usually only has themselves to blame, it's not naive, it's pure stupidity, borderline suicidal. But of course, common sense doesn't sell newspapers, so I expect we'll see many more cases like this reported with obvious bias just for dramatic effect or political point scoring 😏
    1 point
  31. It's exactly why police need to be able to shoot someone with a RIF doing a stupid thing. Sure it might be 100% yellow but it should never be in public view let alone in your hands pointed at someone outside of an airsoft game. Stupid prizes is the only way to allow people to own them and also keep people safe. Yea and I think they handled this situation as best they could. I don't think the law in this instance needed changed unless it could of prevented the kid from having a IF in the first place. Yea you are right they didn't commit any crimes at all but maybe that is a problem? It's tough because you can always argue private properly to public viability isn't under your control. But I shut my blinds before I clean my RIFs. Should I have to? You are right that the police should be commended for doing a routine check and not blowing it up to be anything more than that. I don't think the kid should of had one in the first place maybe if he was allowed to use it supervised and it was locked away like a real gun at other times. The full blame for this goes on the mother but perhaps even IFs should be harder to get a hold of to prevent this type of thing. The real question is was he wearing eye protection? It frustrates me even going to to lock down seeing people saying they wanted to find a way around ukara to get their RIF. I have no idea why mine have been an absolute waste of space and money for me over the past 4 months because I can't use them for anything. I just think people need to treat mannequins with a bit more love and care they have feelings too.

  36. I have to say, my local site tends to be pretty well marshaled and marshaled by the locals. Yeah they dominate when they’re in a group, but only because they know the place with their eyes closed. They’re all fair and decent lads. Most of the sinners though fall foul of a very common sin that extends into every day life. Thou shall not be a dickheadth I think cheat calling annoys me more than non-hit takers to be honest. If I go and run around with a toy gun for a few hours, my only concern is about my experience and my conduct. Yeah someone not taking hits is annoying, but that’s what marshals are for. Someone screaming “TAKE YOUR HITS” across the warehouse sours the mood real fast. Everything else, I think, just tends to be completely unnecessarily. Spamming semi, headshots when you have the whole of a person to aim at, getting angry...99/100 I just think it’s pathetic and unwarranted. We’re all dressed up like soldiers running around with toy guns. Take the rules seriously....but apart from that? What’s the point in getting worked up? IT’S. A. GAME. If everyone woke up, looked themselves in the mirror and said “right, try to not be a c*** today”, the world would be a better place. Same goes for airsoft.

Sometimes it cycles fine and accuracy & range is good, but sometimes it's the slide gets stuck and gas just pisses out. TM..no issues at all, none whatsoever. Sig is running on Greengas, wanted to avoid the CO2 as it's too powerfull and cracks the nozzles in the gun. Buy a TM.

A helmet is nice for CQB to protect your head from doorways etc, but as long as you're careful a beanie will do just fine. In terms of face protection you could get a mesh mask that is a nylon padded material on cheeks (allows a good cheek weld) but still has the mesh on the teeth area (for good protection)
