  1. From what I gathered from it there was a long standing issue with the guy that got banned just being a loud mouth and persistently annoying the owner (Andy) and staff. When the banning came about the player then tried to make it that Andy didn't like speedsofters or their choice of kit (which in the video Andy makes abundantly clear that isn't the issue). I think there have been a few instances of the player spouting off on the internet and Andy had just finally had enough. To my understanding any site can refuse entry for whatever reason they like, doesn't mean people have to like it or understand it. Goes back to mustang being banned from sites he hasn't played or has only played once, the way you present yourself especially in a public forum (facebook, youtube and the like) can have adverse effects and people need to start realizing that.

  2. Welcome. Just go. Sooner you try then the sooner you know whether you like it or not. If you do enjoy yourself then all good. Many of us start out as Billy no mates and turn up alone without knowing anyone.

  3. I've watch too many videos on YouTube about airsoft for too many years. Finally got my 1st ak21 with a decent sight on it, only one battery tho and I'm starting to read that I could do with more and a better charger lol got my bbs and my carry case but i dont have any form of face gard yet. I am the only person I know that has any interest in airsoft and I just cant bring myself to go on my own to a airsoft site near me (Rotherham/Sheffield) It's a bit of a cringe to say all this but I need some airsoft friends lol. I know covid has messed everything up for everyone so I'd more then likely attend once it's all calmed down. But getting to know some people before I attended would help massively. My name is Sam and I'm 29, friendly and down to earth. Hope to talk to everyone soon Thank you 🤜🤛

  4. Good on you for posting on here, it’s a great first step and I can’t recommend this forum enough for good advice. To echo what has already been said you’ll be glad to know that the games are full of the same calibre (sorry for the pun) of people and as mentioned in another thread if you’re going on your own it won’t be long before you’re chatting to everyone and playing alongside people. I go alone as I’m in the same boat as you - no mates that like airsoft and if you were in the south then you’d be more than welcome to join me (though I tend to slow people down with my questionable fitness! 😂 Don’t be put off by anything, it’s a great sport packed with fun and what’s even better - it’s for everyone. Get stuck in. Enjoy!

  6. Yeah couldn't stop laughing But I'd rather have him any day of the week over someone whose only interest is making money. Also you should all show up in mankinis at his site just to piss him off

  8. I made a thread a few days ago about going to my first game solo. Depending on how well (hungover) I feel on Saturday morning, I may end up going by myself. I joined a running club a few years ago and attended that by myself, I was nervous at first but everyone was there for the same reason. To run and have a natter and eat biscuits afterwards. Same with the classic mini scene that I used to be a bit more involved in. I went to meets by myself, made friends and joined a club because we all had that one interest in common. I'm sure the same will go with Airsoft! It's not as if your going to turn up by yourself and someone's going to try and shoot yo........

  9. Like others have said, just do it. I know it's easier said than done, but I knew 0 people who were interested in airsoft so went to a few games alone and met a bunch of weirdos who I now speak to all the time and go to games with regularly. It's an inclusive bunch, generally speaking. 👍

  11. You will be amazed at how quickly you are chatting to other players, if numbers permit at the site you could even go along on a game day just for a look around and to meet the folk running the site etc. But chuck the gun and your kit in the boot 'cos I guarantee that once you get there you will want to play ! Honestly though don't worry about going on your own, as long as you play fair, call your hits and join in you will be made welcome, As others have said, get some decent eye and face pro and some sturdy boots , get down there and have fun .

  12. seriously, it's pretty hard to pluck up the courage, especially if you're striking out for the first time on your own, but there's no other way around it than to just get up and go play. pretty sure we've all been there at one time or another, just part of life.

  13. As you’ve stated it’s easier said than done, but the airsoft community is very friendly (the ones I’ve met anyway) so I’m sure they’ll make you feel very welcomed! Make sure you get some good boots with ankle protection (if you haven’t already got some)

    Advice for a Newbie

Hi. Your rifle looks like this https://www.airsoftworld.net/king-arms-sig-sauer-556-shorty-airsoft-rifle-aeg-with-blowback.html I would advise to check fps ( do chrono check) before going for play, by gun description it's too hot for use in UK.

  18. $19 for 40 is hilarious. How angry would you be if someone still didn't call the hit? I would be tempted to walk over and pick it up!

  19. Well, at least they're honest enough to admit that they're ceramic and not plastic. I guess the cost is going to limit their use, but it highlights why I believe airsoft as a whole really needs to have a think about where BB weights and compositions are heading. At that point you're not far off just shooting 0.86g steel.

  20. Now that's how you handle customer relations. The first rule of airsoft is "don't be a dick, just play the game". If you want to argue the toss on whether you're being a dick, you're probably being a dick.

    Advice for a Newbie

Hello people, this is my first post. I’m looking for some advice on getting into Airsoft, I’m in North Yorkshire so my nearest place is HQ Airsoft in Driffield, What kind of guns/kit will I need to start out? Face mask etc.. I’ve phoned them today but due to COVID they are not doing gun rental at the moment and that poses a problem as I’m told you have to play 3 games to be able to buy an RIF legally. Any advice would be appreciated!

IWA and the British shooting show are two I know of but neither are airsoft specific although do have a small (very small) airsoft footprint. IWA is based in Germany (iirc) and has had the likes of TAG and PTS etc.

  33. Picked up a condor chest rig with hydro back panel and bladder for a decent price. I also ordered about a dozen items from amazon to ruin it and ghillie craft it into my sneaky rig! Also, shoe goo is f***ing £15 a tube these days?!

  35. My interpretation is that the banned guy was spouting his mouth off on FB, not uncommon I know, but if what he was saying was untrue/incorrect, & he persistently pushed his point, which is seditious & potentially harmful to his business, then I make Andy right for the ban, & good on him for doing it publicly.
    1 point
  36. I guess that the offender really pissed this guy off to get banned. After all, it's his site and he can do whatever he wants with it, if he deemed the guy to be a thundercunt, he did the right thing imo. It's better to have fewer people who can have a good time together rather than accepting even the worst of the worst for the sake of profit.

Guss you're imagining like SHOT Show or the ones loads of manufactures attend in Asia? They were few and far between before Covid, can't imagine any are planned atm. Bear in mind most of the new tech comes out of the far east, so by the time it reaches our shores videos on it have been on YouTube for months and the hot products usually sell through UK retailers websites quickly anyway (see Tokyo Marui MK46), so there's little interest.

  39. this is a perfect example of "compatible-ish". unfortunately i can't really recommend anything specific, i keep a box o'random springs and i'll be damned if i know where most of them come from but almost always have something that's about right. it's like my bits box m4 build that's semi only because the only COL that worked in the box had been modded at some point for a mosfet.

  43. I find airsofters attempts at camouflage and discussing what is the best camo or ghillie suit etc immensely hilarious as none of them have the first clue how to move tactically unless they are ex military and specifically ex infantry. Christ, I am RAF and the only tactical movement I am trained in is how to secure the best 5* hotels....

  45. You always have the option to do the decent thing and not money-shot them. And they have the option to do the decent thing and reward your decency by calling themselves out, even if site rules are "no bang, just shoot". We all rely on each other to play decently all the time anyway, since a rule doesn't actually stop anyone from face-shooting, blind-firing or over-killing. That's down to the finger on the trigger.
