For me there's also a point where extra mags can't be counted. One or two is nice but I'm not paying £10 - £15 a mag for the other twenty-three beaten-up ones you've accumulated over the years.

Hello all. I was supposed to be at Matlock Combat Games this past Saturday but unfortunately my 4 month old ended up in hospital Wednesday night and didn't get out until Saturday morning! He's all fine and dandy now but I missed out on going to my first skirmish with a few of my mates. I'm able to make it this Saturday (hangover pending) and thought as I'm pretending to be a sniper I'll be by myself for the most part anyway (remember I've never played before) so why not just rock up solo. So, after that long winded first chapter, who else turns up solo? I'm not nervous about going by myself, I like to force myself into new situations, I just know it'd be a bit more enjoyable with my mates but we all works shifts and sorting something is always a ball ache and I just want to shoot bits of plastic at people from a far!!

Yeah, I'm not bothered. My car is usually full with my stuff anyway and if I want to talk to someone there's always people you can spark up a convo with while you're getting ready etc.

Was looking at King Arm's social media presence (partly due to this thread) and they stated that the re-release would be the end of 2020. Might be a useful to someone. Will be putting aside some cash for one myself.

pyramex dual pane are the best for the money. pair them with some revision antifog wipes and you have as good as you get for that money. I've never fogged my i5 and it protects my ears, lower face and eyes and only uses 1 strap.

I went on my own last week, often do if none of my mates are going. Not that unusual for only one of us to make it to be fair, we all have other stuff going on. Just turn up and get chatting, airsofters are generally a friendly bunch , you'll soon get chatting to others. Listen to the briefings, play fair and call your hits and above all have Fun ! You'll be part of a group before you know it !

I find airsofters attempts at camouflage and discussing what is the best camo or ghillie suit etc immensely hilarious as none of them have the first clue how to move tactically unless they are ex military and specifically ex infantry. Christ, I am RAF and the only tactical movement I am trained in is how to secure the best 5* hotels....

Yeah they have quite a few sites around Wales to be fair, I traveled almost 2 hours to get to their shop, the guy working the shop that day was the marshal in the game I was going to the following day so he had it painted and down at the site ready for me to use the next day, quality service from them.

I'd throw in the KJW KC-02, £250 or thereabouts. Decent performer out of the box and if you're after something with an easy hop adjustment it's got a TDC style wheel on the top. Good aftermarket support also, with 3d printed stuff, CNC machined bits from rogueworx and the like.

Im on my second game now with a two tone gun (hence why I'm holding off until my third game to get my outfits sorted) to my first couple of games I've worn cheap green camo tracksuit bottoms, navy blue long sleeved shirt and a dark grey track jacket, if anything I lowkey looked like I should have been in a cartel or something 😄 The shop I've bought the gun off put the two tone on my gun and because their linked to the site I go to said that once I've played my third game there they'll strip the two tone off for me. Thats when I'll start my US Army Vietnam era outfit because it'll just look silly with a two tone M16.

The old girl got a face-lift In all honesty I've been wanting to do a KWA Vector build for forever. I've lurked on the FB page for some time now, and had an idea of what I wanted to do, but I knew one thing was needed for sure before I invested time and money into the project - an HPA drum. Ive tried the GBB primary route and despised it for a single reason - the mags. Thats why Ive converted so many of my GBBs to Daytonas - WE Masada, VFC M27, etc. Especially here in the States, where its all about highcaps and volume of fire (I do miss UK airsoft; running around The Mall with my TM GBB MP7 or dual pistols...). While I dont need 1000 shots to get a hit, 40ish shots was a bit too little, especially when you go to reload and find your mag has leaked all the gas out. So a drum is a must. As such, my Vector has sat, and sat. Then, I got an offer. It was a bit steep IMO but I took it, and then I was the proud owner of a broken Reaper Airsoft Customs drum mag for the Vector. Let the build begin! The repair ended up being easy - a lot of epoxy and drying time and it was good to go. I didnt want to use a cheap China clone for a sight like I have on some of my builds - Ive had Daytonas throw off their zeros before. So I used a spare Vortex Sparq AR red dot I had. Magpul MOE irons and AFG2 mod to match my real Vector, Ace1Arms right hand mag release (so much easier when using the drum), replica Surefire M600DF light and my signature blue-lasered PEQ hooked up to a dual pressure switch. I also had to add a 45* rail for the torch so that I could still fold the stock. I have a Defiance .45 ACP suppressor but I am unsure if I will use it due to not needing an increased inner barrel due to FPS gains... Cover the remaining rails with ladder covers and add a sling swivel stock pin and the build is (externally) done. Still need to decide on what to do inside though... Yes @rocketdogbert I will use the FB page for that.

I personally use the generic mesh ones sold as nuprol or kombat or whatever. not sure ill ever bother with proper lens again unless i get whatever sweat gland thing prince andrew claims to have.

Yup, the default choice. However, the inner lenses seem to be prone to breaking up and crazing. Mine have been OK though, and if they give any problems, I'll just replace the inners with pieces of PETG plastic. Valken V-TAC Axis (not Echo) goggles claim to be dual pane, but I can't actually see the 2nd pane. Approach with caution. The Valken Zulus are dual pane, but over £30.

I'm pretty sure I remember a you tube hero "teaching" this on a cqb video. Wasn't impressed then or now. personally the couple of gripes I have have been covered however, "gun hits don't count mate." Do they not? I m pretty sure that if your pew pew is across your chest and I aim centre mass and it hits your rif, it isn't a bullet shield and it has been stopped from hitting you by your rif I do this because 1 it's a BB gun not a laser and I want to maximise my chance of a hit by aiming for your plate carrier 2 I don't do head shots unless thats all I can see Now i appreciate if your gun barrel is sticking out from a behind a tree and the barrel gets hit from a 90 degree angle and was never going to hit you then I can see the fair play rule where you resort to your back up. If you feel though that If I shoot centre mass twice and you think that a rif is a shield and then drill me on full auto (yes this happened) then what is left as an option to me. I'll tell you a bb to the face. id like to say I'm a better person and wouldn't do it but I know I'm not.

Go with the best you can afford. Dont scrimp on eye pro, your sight is priceless. Eye pro like everything else is a personal choice, what other like and use won’t be the best solution for you. You need to factor in comfort too, a lot of experienced players have tried lots of different options and styles before finding their “forever goggles” I currently use either crappy mesh (which I’m not happy with) or goggles with a fan (which I’m not 100% happy with) and I have been playing for 5 years and still haven’t found my ideal solution

The quality of all the Chinasoft gear these days, is 90% as good as the real gear. Looking at everything I have bought. I wish they have existed 10 years ago when I bought all my real Cyre, HSGI, Eagle and Tactical Tailor gear. Would have saved enough for several extra guns.

Got mine several months ago, decided to start doing push-ups if I had any chance of gaming with it. Even with a sling. It's just nasty sounding and on long busts my vision gets blurry....(recoil) it's so much fun. I have be told by those on the other end, that is not a pleasant experience. Sent mine back after 2 (I live in Tokyo) weeks had the feed try and the feed nozzle replaced. Standard replacements. Actually it was lucky for me as I'd jammed it using previously used bbs. I know that was stupid but it had depleted 9,000 bbs in two weeks. I have an abandoned orchid behind me and shoot everyday. 50 meters no problem. Could go further I'm sure I just don't have the space. Very expensive very fun.

You need to think about what the statute of limitations is on this, does having a 3x great grandfather who fought at Salamanca mean nobody can wear an original Rifles uniform in a Sharpe cosplay or a grandad at Passchendale or dad who was on Sword beach at D-Day +5? i must be more of an asshole then, i'd have let fly. it's a divisive issue, hence my policy of being a twitch away from firing before i open my mouth to issue a bang kill. in that case he made the decision, it's as close as you're gonna get to someone literally asking to be shot. on the flipside, i also don't get salty if someone decides to skip the whole process and just pop one round somewhere it doesn't hurt. the worse case i heard of that was someone losing the rag because "headshots don't count".....

Worst sins? There are things that annoy me - 1. Deliberate non hit-taking. Happy to give benefit of the doubt, but there is a limit 2. Not listening to the game briefs & rules. I was at a site years ago, and we were all asked to stand, witness & applaud someone being 'promoted' in their team, using military ranks. Non hit takers are a given... So in no particular order. Fuck me, they get my goat. Asshole geardos who turn up and take it way too seriously. Then scream like girls when people on their side aren't doing the pepperpot manoeuvre correctly or some other military bollocks they think they know after seeing it on Strike Back/Ultimate Force. You know and we know that the closest to the military they got was being a Cub Scout. Assholes People who turn up to woodland games in all black gear and wear woolly balaclavas and full face masks. Because protection from pain maybe? ( wimps ) .. 2 reasons. 1) Black in Woodland is stupid and i don't like stupid people 2) They are going to pass out from heat exhaustion and potentially cause an interruption to my games. Snipers in so much ghillie that they cannot feel ( or choose not to from recent experience ) because either we their kit is so thick they honestly cannot feel it ( unlikely with the amount i dumped into them ) or the twigs in the way of the bb path make the hits count as ricochets. People who count being behind a bush as a magic shield because the bbs might hit a few twigs on the way through. Thus technically being a ricochet. Even while flinching from the hits. Sites without a clear bang rule. If you get the drop on someone and you don't want to put a bb into their face. There should be a site rule, not one down to player discretion as to whether they take it or not. Now i know some people are stupid and take the bang rule too far, like running into a room shouting bang lots and expecting everyone to go "yep you got us" But not to have a bang rule, i think is wrong. I will happily shoot people in the face but i want the option of not having too. Lastly People who wear drop-leg holsters like this Ah yes, the tactical knee holster

Wait a few months as King Arms are finally re releasing their L1A1s to modern specs i believe. These were always considered the best and also were the cheapest of the FAL series of riles so i would wait and go for that.

I work at mpa defence as a gun technician. I can do maintenance, repairs, custom builds, upgrades and I engrave and cut out shapes on airsoft items. Reasonable priced and happy to work on a budget. I’m linked to mpa airsoft so you can buy all upgrade parts or guns etc from the shop if you don’t have it already.
