  2. As you'll probably know stairs can be very tricky, I'd be concerned that they "choke" the site to the point where a lot of the floor space isn't really used in game, with a lot of the action being concentrated on and near the stairs. So I think maybe rather then one big cqb site, you could have an "arena" on each floor. Of course the devil is in the detail! Thanks

A team mate has offered a very fair price for the gun, and a few of the accessories! 😁 Unfortunately @Albiscuit that did also include the suppressor otherwise you would of been given first refusal. 👍 Once he's paid me, the hunt for an MWS begins!

  13. This is basically it for me. I can't see the point in having 5-10 guns that are all functionally identical (I don't mean "they all shoot 6mm BBs", I mean "they're all bog-standard AEG assault rifles") and also less well-made then they could be, when I could have 2-4 guns that are really incredible. You can only use a handful of guns (it's a ball-ache even to bring more than a handful to a skirmish) when you play, so why would you have a less good gun in your hands in exchange for two more in the car, or more likely at the back of the cupboard at home? I've sold virtually all my horrifically expensive "collector" pistols and eaten massive losses, and sold all my basic AEGs. What I have now is basically one of each type of gun, each highly upgraded: AEG SMG (EVO3A1), AR (NGRS), LMG and DMR; GBB pistols, SMG and AR; HPA BASR. It's the maximum I can justify - one of each role. I'm also now operating a strict one-in one-out policy to try to avoid the accumulation of yet more very expensive toys. I've just picked up a cheap project too. It's definitely more fun to mess around with a pistol that cost me £70 than one that cost me £700.

  23. Airsoft is whatever you make of it... I love the game, outdoors or CQB and try and go about 4 to 6 times a year, but that's actually enough for me to have sustained a love for it over the last 12 years. As like most folks I'm a gun nut and always have been since spark guns, cap guns, spud guns, sucker dart shotguns - they all led onto the air rifles, gat guns, catapults and spring BB guns that eventually hit Britain's shooting shops. When airsoft gained ground over paintball as a better alternative (imo) it just hit the spot - realistic guns and the ability to shoot someone else with them with little harm. What's not to love? The dedication for me comes from the fun not the gun. Even as a true gun nut I just think the fun has been the driving force behind the hobby. I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting all the types of people that play and the cultures that genuinely mix so well on sites. Buying stuff and being a consumer is all consuming at times in this world but i would genuinely state that we can't find joy in objects, it's what they represent and our purpose for them. Bit deep, but yeah - best game ever for me, whatever tool and gear I'm using.

  30. Few and expensive for me, though sprinkle some cheaper projects in amongst that (like my clone mk23, a KJW mark 1 I just picked up and maybe a boneyard project). I'd rather splurge on nicer externals and upgrades on a few things I'm actually using as opposed to getting an armory big enough to supply a small militia and then not use half of them in a game (I am however still guilty of this owning a GHK GBBR that I very rarely use 😒).
    1 point
  31. Few and expensive for sure. By expensive I don't mean the base price of the gun, but the overall cost of the base + upgrades. I'm not a hoarder and I hate having unused stuff, so I'd rather pimp the fuck out of my current guns than buying loads of new ones. Unless I'm looking at a specific look (say a MK18 or a Val). I don't get people who have 5+ ARs that are basically copycats of each other or endless streams of glocks popping out of their drawers. I mean, you only have 2 hands, you can't possibily field 6 pistols at the same time or........can you?

  33. I'm budget driven. That's to say that I enjoy researching the best bang for buck gun and then finding the best price for it. I've found some second hand bargains with decent brands like LCT but the most expensive price I paid was for the Alien pulse rifle (M41A) new at £299 I enjoy collecting about as much as playing so I can't afford expensive guns. (I also share my budget with biking) Luckily the lower to medium brands like JG, CYMA, Classic Army up to Specna Arms give decent enough performance to have plenty'o fun in games. 😄 I like using different styles from MP5 to L1A1 and I used all of them except a couple of impractical collector ones such as DL-44 and M41A. I tend to take 2 or 3 to a game and switch around during the day.
    1 point
  34. To be honest I don't think that just because something is expensive guarantees that it is high, or even good, quality. I think a lot of it falls down to researching what you're investing in. A good example of this would be to use the MP5 platform. If memory serves last year Umarex carried out a licensed release of an MP5K variant over in the USA and many people automatically assumed that VFC were the OEM, however, it is reported that it is just a H&K licensed CYMA. Now there's nothing wrong with CYMA, they actually make some great MP5's, but due to the release coming from Umarex buyers were paying a premium for the Umarex "brand" and for the licensed H&K markings. Unfortunately there are more and more companies within airsoft adopting exploitative practices where they are rebranding or buying distribution exclusivity to drive up the price. ASG has done this to some extent although they aren't bad when compared to many of the others out there, Nuprol being some of the biggest thieving tossers in Europe. While I think there are definite examples of "you get what you pay for" within airsoft, I also feel as though there are many examples where this simply doesn't hold true. There are so many companies which fail in terms of the most basic quality control levels that it is simply astounding and these issues are further exacerbated by frequent occurrences of bad customer service. Just as a quick note. Credit where credit is due to ASG, they have brought platforms such as the Cz Scorpion Evo and the Cz Bren 805 to the market, both of which are excellent guns and the Scorpion has received a number of design revisions which is beyond rare in the world of airsoft.

  35. Few and expensive for god damn sure. It's strange though. Most people would think £100-150 is expensive for a pistol and that the quality would be amazing. But in reality, it's just cheap pot metal that's been reused in many other models. Even stuff in the 200-300 range. Just re-branded shit. Quite sad really. It's really difficult to find proper quality products these days. One of the worst experiences of that was the WE desert eagle. Looks cool af, and it's very expensive. But then I disassembled it and found a shit tone of molded seams and irregularities and realise that it's just cheap pot metal again and will shatter if you drop it at ruler height. Sad times. My Noveske M4 is like £1k+ worth of parts that I put together myself. The externals alone are like around £500 and that's some decent quality stuff. Pretty much the only personal aeg I've used for many years so far, until I finally complete my 3d printed one :))))

Finally got the folding stock adapter fitted to my AEG. It's not completely done as I need a receiver end plate but it works as a proof of concept. It's actually really practical as it means I don't need to take the stock off to change the battery or have a stupidly long screwdriver to take the buffer tube off

  40. So guys, I need y’alls opinions. So I have this MP7: Now do I leave it as an a1 or convert it to an a2? If you’re unaware the process involves permanently removing the folding grip and replacing it with a rail. I did this to my GBB MP7. However the folding grip on this AEG variant is much sturdier, so I don’t necessarily have to convert it. Hence wanting opinions. To avoid filling the section with replies, just vote a1 with the “like” react and a2 with the “coolAF” react. For comparison - A1 vs A2 TM MP7

  44. I am all about skirmishing, yeah I like my replicas but I don't collect - it has to have practical value or enriches my skirmish experience. For the most part i plan my purchases months in advance, though i will impusively buy small items (most recently a new mag for my pistol) if its a good deal. I'd honestly like to get to the point where my own airsoft expenditure is game fees travel consumables and repairs.. not sure that will ever happen though!

  45. Airsoft is a weird one. I love it and have since I discovered it 2 years ago but I do sometimes struggle with the whole dress up in full tactical gear and running around like I am saving the world (I do blame the wannabe 'Operators' amongst us for that!). However I then go and play and absolutely love it. I love that moment when you are in the middle of a battle and you take a moment to look around at everyone getting involved and working together (Or not........ See my statement above about the operators!) and I think to myself, this is cool. Deep down we are all a bit nerdy (no offence to anyone triggered by that 🙄). We all have a bit of geek in us. As @Rogerborg states above, the BB does not care where it comes from or where it is going, yet the geek in us wants our 'BB Accelerating Device' to look exactly like a real M4 or AK etc. There is no other reason for this but pure geekyness. Look at the reaction on this forum when ASG released their speedsim version of the M4 with the drop link stock and purple barrels. It does exactly the same as all the other 'BBAD's' but it offended the geek in most of us. Wether we like to admit it or not we all have a bit of geek in us. I own an IT company so I have a double dose of geek and happy to admit it. With this level of geeks comes the collecting, the attention to detail, the need to have the next best thing, the need to know everything we can about what is our current object of desire, etc, etc, etc. At the end of the day we are just a bunch pf happy nerds that like to play dress up and Army. I for one embrace that.

  46. There's always going to be someone more dedicated than you. Take weather, some folks dont like playing outdoors at all, others will laugh at such softness and crawl around in the mud come freezing rain wind or snow. I sit in the middle, i'll take cold, wind and in the right frame of mind a bit of snow, but if the heavens open i dont like standing around getting soaked. Like for example collecting pews, i have a few but half a dozen long guns and a few pistols is a paltry collection compared to some. On the flip side none of those guns are stock and most dont get to last long without some tweak/modification/experiment taking place. However you want to take this hobby be it making one perfect pew or trying out every flavour of the month, tactically winning every game with co-ordinated teamwork or sitting in a hedge like a sentient land-mine just remember its all for fun.
