  4. Experience, trial and error, research. For someone to make a guide like that would be akin to writing the bible. Why not simply state what gun you have? No one knows everything, hence the purpose of a forum with its amassed experience - from trial and error and research.

  6. It's become a shit-sandwich at the moment - literally pages of the same ads with no photos & scammers everywhere. One scammer using a photo of an advert that I bought years ago. Reported it multiple times but it's still up.

  8. +1 for the new CYMA Platinums - but it's an extra Β£70 or so. The Specna in the top link is from their E&C range so pretty decent. Solid gearbox, I've thrown so much at the test stock one I have in the office and still going strong. The JG one looks nice, would love to see inside. Get both.... πŸ™‚

  9. Sounds like you are drinking that west coast muck and you have my sympathy, move a little higher into the hills and you’ll find the good stuff along the Spey. We sell it to anyone in the supermarket, especially those in need of enlightenment. I’d be more than happy to give you a 2 year handicap and put a bottle of 18yo Macallan against your Bushmills. I dare say I’d be happy to play for a draw in those circumstances 😊 And no, you didn’t, at least not that anyone can prove either way.

  10. Just got an Acetech Lighter S tracer unit. It's very small and light. Can't wait for places to open again so I can get on with shooting lasers! Must have about 25000 bbs laying about the place.

  11. Just as another quick point, before I forget, a big advantage to the bolt lock/cut off on the NGRS guns which support it (some don't such as the G36) is that it prevents you from firing when the magazine is empty (I know this is kind of obvious) which guarantees you'll always have a shot ready to fire which eliminates the risk of dry firing and associated disputes which can occur.

  12. 1j limit, so probably shorter than most folks. But i do actively engage at the edge of my limit, in fact its my de-facto playstyle to pretty much run as a dmr. That's not to say i dont get closer, just generally if i have the choice in the matter i'll be as far off as possible. Never properly measured it in metres so i'm conservatively saying 30-50.

  13. Although changing out components can improve a gun one thing to consider is that the various manufacturers all work to different tolerances and different standards. I guess it's just a case of giving consideration to whether or not you are liable to keep something long enough to justify buying one excellent gun or if you are likely to be a bit more mercurial. The TM Scar L I picked up off @Davegolf is an exceptional piece of kit to say the least and the build quality combined with the work carried out by Dave really makes it stand out in my collection. I also have an L85A2 which he did a lot of work on and I would argue that the Marui has the edge on it simply by virtue of Marui's manufacturing standards.

  14. People like to modify/upgrade things to be unique, we are all guilty of it, we are all human. If you like change or have a short attention span then only a fat wallet or lots of lesser guns is going to help that. Run a TM Recoil, decent BBs. If you want a 'new toy' then get a cheaper gun, but keep that TM, it'll always have your back. Ive had far too many guns as have many others, what have I ended up with? A lot of wasted(?) money A TM MWS cos it's engaging An ASG pistol cos it's fun / CQB A CA MP5PDW cos I love them A TM Recoil cos it wins me games

  15. I have owned a TM H Scar kept it stock it was a great performer recoil was fun, and bolt lock is a nice dynamic, but unless you really want those features get multiple cheaper guns (a hop rubber change can make a lot of a difference when comes to range). I get bored of guns quickly and have taken massive losses on few month old high end guns. in the end get what your heart desires but don't think everything needs to be up graded before you have used it.

  17. Just get the TM and run it, I'm sure you'll be impressed. If you still want more; then for upgrades, yes TM Recoils have huge potential, can get pricey, but god they do perform. There will always be neighsayers but you cannot buy drop in engineering - by that I mean perfect gearbox and hop alignment, amazing hop unit design, not outdated M4 crap. Im not a fanboy, just an engineer (edit: who thinks life is too short for turd polishing)

  18. Another bit of Australian kit... This arrived today after 2 years of hunting for one.. it's super rare. Navy issue combat shirt, issued only to boarding teams and clearance divers.

  19. The thing with TM recoils is that people have too much money and not enough brain. They don't really need any upgrade and will run just fine in their stock configuration. If you want more range then a simple hop rubber swap is all you need to lift heavy bbs. Now, if you want the energy to be as close as the limit as possible, you're going to spend a considerable of money as you'll need better gears (if I'm not wrong recoil gears are proprietary). If you want a scar with good externals you can't go wrong with VFC, but expect trash internals and a hefty price tag for a fancy looking body.

  20. I was just eyeing this up and thinking of doing an upgrade project I appreciate its a Scar H , I think there is an L slightly more expensive https://www.taiwangun.com/en/electric/by-805-black-bell?from=listing&campaign-id=14&q=Double+bell

Hi Im around the same chest size as you and also found it difficult to get a PC that fitted around my chest comfortably Im scared to try it on as lockdown isn’t encouraging my activity levels πŸ™„ Have you thought about a battle belt that would allow a few mags etc to be carried, I’m thinking of going that direction to allow breathability but taking the gamble of the odd sore shot to the nipples πŸ˜‚

  24. good choice, give yourself a nice reference point for where the gun is out of the box so you can tell when you do change bits if there's any improvement. it's a case of diminishing returns, the more demanding you are of performance in a certain field it gets exponentially more difficult/expensive whereas getting "good enough" isn't that expensive or difficult in most cases. and definately agree on yt, the problem with that platform is you need to have enough base knowledge to judge wether or not the video you're watching is useful, or just full of bs. consistency and range aren't the problem on a dsg, getting it to shoot for more than half a day without spontaneous dissassembly is depends on the gun, for an m4 you may have a point but i'd rather have a gun that was good on the outside as it's much easier to change out a gearbox wholesale for example than to change the entire reciever. tell me about it, my m4's quest for accuracy has left it with only the outer barrel remaining as an original component

  25. can fit an old school nimh in the slimline foregrip ala the tm m733. i think its just them cheaping out https://www.brownells.co.uk/AR-15-CAR-HANDGUARD-SET-CAR-Handguard-Set-Black-DS-ARMS-2-Piece-Aluminum-Nylon-274000032 this is cheaper then the g&p and WE replicas. will it need modding to fit? tbh i've no idea.

  26. Correct. None of the cheaper brands get this right. Apart from this one which is the closest you'll get for the price. https://www.softairgames.net/en/m4-m16-stubby/5265-m733-m4-full-metal-golden-bow-6601-m.html Golden Bow is essentially JG in another tie. (Ignore the bad review, he's just complaining the handguard is plastic) I buy loads of stuff from this shop so it is legit.

  27. That video is hilarious πŸ˜‚ Seems like theres issues with everything.. And I'm going to have to be fair to you and apologise but you might be right in me just getting a stock gun (other than hop rubber) and see how I feel as to how I go about improving it. Think I've just got carried away with upgrading, which started as just hop rubber until I watched the video of the Joker/Black Panther builds as just assumed that is what I want...

To be fair, getting the fake bullets back in is a royal pain in the arse so I can see why you'd want to leave them out!

Very. The process is: Stick some masking tape over the windows, this saves you needing to fiddle about to get the little slip of plastic back in. It's not really essential but looks neater afterwards. Remove the base plate by depressing the central catch, it needs to go in a fair way to allow the plate to slide off. Unscrew the small phillips head screw to release the inner magazine and the little corrugated strips of fake rounds will come out. Put the inner mag back in, screw it in place and reattach the baseplate, remove the tape and you are done.

  36. To be honest the jg recievers arent too bad so its probably worth going that way and tweaking the internals if you need to.

  37. Jg has got a lot better but are still a budget option. They are decent for the price. Older specna ones are very good but their latest batch of new ones has been a total load of crap.
    1 point
  38. I find that JG has better consistency in fit and finish over more recent Specna's. Specna has on paper better internals, but seem a bit slap dash in the assembly. Finding a true M-4A1 handguard seperately has been a real pain, though I am not sure if its still the same these days.

  43. I ask for ukara and check that the letters at the start are actually for a site, that much you can do on their website. The second check is to get their forum name and the date on some paper in a picture of rifs that they already own and arn't two tone. Just as evidence that they must (I assume/hope) have got at least some of them from a retailer and by proxy, be a skirmisher. Not full proof. But it feels like I did what I could. Though in all honesty, I only really press for it on profiles that are clearly new, or just not really used (no postings/reviews) and clearly only popping on here for the classifieds.
