  1. Few recent bits I've been waiting on finally arrived today: Zenitco dual pressure switch for the Klesch-2 & Perst-4 , again great quality & a nice little bit of kit allowing me to control / adjust the attachments as opposed to 2x separate switch attachments Additional MK46 Box Mag & Dummy bullet belt Tag Pecker MK2's - Dummy Tag grenades so I can get some practice without (literally) blowing up £7 a shot! - Helps in orange as well so I won't lose them!

  3. Probably varies from camp to camp let alone between services, but on a basic level the stuff you get issued on your gun has to stay on there, but you can move things around to wherever best fits. The SUSAT can be slid back and forward on its' rail in to 3 different positions and from what I've seen usually people get to pick wherever fits them best. The Elcan LDS obviously goes on pic rail so has many possible mounting spots. As mentioned the grip-pod that is issued along with the DD pic handguard can be moved wherever is comfortable. I'd prefer mine further out for example but with osprey on and lying prone I can't reach the thing unless it's pretty close in. I've seen infantry guys with their own magpul AFGs and RVGs amongst other picatinny attachments. Personally I have an aftermarket sling that's just made to look similar enough to the issued green one that people don't question it. If you look up recent pictures of army guys on deployment (i.e. within the last 3 years) you'll see lots of examples of small variances in configuring the A2 and A3.

    Barrel Extension

Longer barrel = higher accuracy is a bit of a myth I say a bit of a myth as there is "some" merit in this claim but no way as much as people think and it it is plain wrong to assume longer barrel equals better range & accuracy etc.... Some titchy MP5k's with 140mm barrels can be more accurate than a 363mm M4 it is a lot do with the precision of it all, true, clean barrel, with no imperfections, cleaned/polished/lapped blah blah blah than the overall length in other words - a shit barrel is a shit barrel no matter what length Most of the performance - or rather the results is mostly down to bucking/nub (not all of it but take this as the core foundation of performance) other crap like bb quality, actual barrel length & stuff matters little if hop/bucking is a bit poorly (and if it is torn/fucked then you are fucked) FSP rises/lowers due to the creep issue a longer barrel will increase fps in most cases but might perform poorly if your cylinder is set for 250mm then you plop in a 455mm - you have not got enough air volume to propel the bb all the way down the longer barrel the reverse is over-voluming, plopping a 140mm barrel in a full cylinder gun and excess air can create turbulance behing bb as it exits (so they say, so the idea is to match cylinder volume to barrel length volume & a tbb make little difference to volume ratios NB: I said volume RATIO's, tbb or wider bore alter volume values by a couple of percent - that's all if a std barrel is 6.05mm and you use a 6.01mm the diameter has lessened by half a percent (6.05 x 0.995 = 6.0198)) The fps might increase a bit but VOLUME or VOLUME RATIO alters only very slightly if you bother with maths and fuck the maths a bit unless you over think shit like me Most of the crap is down to bucking, clean barrel & decent bb's under say .3gms, deffo 0.25gms they have to lighten a number of bb's owing to the material used (air) with this comes slight variations in bb weights especially on cheapo bb's not uncommon to find if you chrono on cheap egg bb's with more air than an Aero bar you get real fluctuations in weight say .195gms to .205gms - that is a 2.5% variation on a 0.20gm mass (I get told off by nerds the term is mass - oh fuck off) so no wonder you might still see fps varying a bit at chrono if everything is perfectly sealed if bb mass varies Point is you will get flyers at times and better accuracy is attained on 0.25's etc... The barrel is decent, if you look to tweek stuff change out bucking/nub to a Maple or something keep it clean & decent 0.25's by all means have a go - stuff does alter stuff there was a MK23 pistol that had a suppressor that the moment you screwed it on knock the fps up say 35fps and there was an AEG that had the fps increase slightly https://www.evike.com/products/59319/ can't find the EXACT cheapo gun, but there was one that had a barrel extension/suppressor that when fitted raised the fps like the TM MK23 pistol that is well known for this creep Though this altered the fps this does *not* equate to increased accuracy just by boosting power/creep, the cheaper M4 had the smaller mini-deans connector on it and much cheaper, but had a barrel extension/suppressor than boosted fps Though regular suppressors do not alter fps - these are a couple of rare exceptions (in other words though unlikely to alter stuff much - in rare instances it "can" alter though in general it won't) * edited as I'm always typing faster than my brain functions, does not equate to increased accuracy (left out the NOT bit, as my brain was playing catch up) So despite all this wall of text, it is unlikely to alter stuff much, but you might see a very minor one if very lucky (doubt you might notice it and tbh if any DIY stuff is not of decent high precision likely make it worse) but stick to decent bb's, and maybe a change of bucking if you mess with stuff you will need a chrono or access to one to confirm the change in power/energy/fps/joules or whatever reference to the bb exiting the barrel be it a peew, a Peew or a more powerful PEEEEEWWWWWW your gun - have a tinker and make your own stuff - why not and here is your special award for services to sticky back plastic & use of a washing up bottle... A Blue Peter badge 😛

  5. My whole purchasing of the lct g3 has been panic buying (?) I had been watching the stock count in firesupport for a while. There were always 2 left for what seemed like months. I get some money at the beginning of lockdown but thought it wise to hold off blowing it all on a new pew. Then it goes down to 1 in stock. The buyer i think having posted about it on here. Thus making me buy the last one. I have also been watching the midcaps for it. These too seemed to remain with 12 odd in stock for ages, plenty, no rush.... suddenly this morning there were 4 left. The exact amount i wanted (4 on rig, 1 in gun). Soooo guess who just had to buy the remaining stock of lct g3 midcaps. Sorry wallet

  6. Finished a repaint of this pistol. Experimented with mixing some things. 2 coats of bake on 650 degree paint and a layer of matte varnish. Not the smoothest ive ever done but Im loving the silver barrel with this dark grey. Got a matching dark grey compensator on the way. Unfortunately this particular 1911 uses hi cappa style sights so I am struggling to find a red dot mount.

  16. Does the collar right at the front of the scope rotate? (Red ring in the picture) If so then the scope has whats called parralax adjustment, and should help with focusing, so try experimenting with that, in addition to the magnification collar (blue) Some scopes have the parralax on the rear eyepiece of the scope, so also check if thats the case on your scope, if the front collar doesnt move
    1 point
  17. Are you using it at 9x magnification? typically at the upper end of an adjustable scope it's only gonna be focusable out to further distances. However I would imagine at 3x mag you might be able to get a focused image at 12 metres. I ran into this same issue when I started taking out the rats with my air rifle from within 10 metres, I tried several scopes, i finally got one tuned in at 5x mag for about an 8 metre shot. Obviously your particular scope is pretty much as budget as you can get - having said that, as long as it holds zero (which it is not guaranteed to do) it may be serviceable for your garden plinking. Otherwise you may want to upgrade - however as far as I am aware even a more expensive scope would have the same problem of focusing at higher magnification on a close target.

Hahaha, I was just looking at one of those yesterday evening! I'd also be interested of the internal differences. The ONE claims 430 rather than 410fps The only differences I can see externally is the ONE has a sling plate at the base of the stock.

I'll echo LCT/E&L. You could also consider Real Sword if chinese AK copies like the type 56 interest you, probably not if you're wanting to tactical it up. LCT prices on fire support look to have gone up dramatically, I had a 74u last year in the region of £249 brand new and now they're £308!

Well I've got plenty of options for barrel make and length now, so thanks you all! I think I'm going to build the gun up with the standard barrel until I can get some more distance Infront of me! If I'm happy with what it's capable of I'll upgrade the barrel at standard size, if I feel it lacking then I'll get a longer one. I suppose it depends what FPS I've got as well as from what I've read, the longer barrel gives the appearance of more range because they tend to increase the FPS by 10% ish. I guess without everyone lining up side by side, aiming down a range at set lengths, all with different barrel brands and lengths, we'll never really know how good one is above another. It's all down to the users perception at the time of shooting when out on a game! (Conditions all varying)

@Hermesh 👋 I agree with @Iceni on the two makes! 🔫😎👍 I’m collecting my fair share of AK’s and can say I have 2 E&L models, I bought 2nd hand and apart from cleaning the barrel and mags, haven’t had a single problem, put them through hell! 😜👍 I’m planning to get a modern LCT AK make, when I have the 💷! 🔫🤞 Good luck with getting one! 🔫😎👍 💷GAMBLE💷

  31. Its good and solid. I have fondled it greatly under the excuse of practicing mag changes. But not been able to shoot it sadly. Then i can give it a proper review. Its funny, when i started out i wanted short guns. Got the carbine ics l85 and a ump. Now though im getting long ones xD. I guess its the draw to get different guns and a slight soft spot for coldwar battlerifles. Plus side of this is that ill have the mags for it. Just need to sort out some gear for a modernish pmc merc. Otherwise ill have to run it in multi cam as i have 7.62 pouches for that already. Unless two will fit in svd pouches. I know one does...

E&L or LCT. All Steel Externals. And the gearboxes are decent. Don't expect TM high cycle performance, but they will run and run without needing a lot doing to them, and are near impossible to break. https://www.fire-support.co.uk/category/lct-airsoft-aegs--kits/ https://gunfire.com/en/producers/e-l-1383559869.html models like the ELAK701. https://gunfire.com/en/products/elak701-tactical-mod-a-gen-2-assault-rifle-replica-1152209806.html and the LCT TX-MIG. https://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/lct-tx-mig-airsoft-gun-aeg

    We Scar L

WE GBBR hop units are... certainly some thing: Make sure some hop is applied. Do the rounds still roll out the end or is the gun starting to lift the rounds? Take the barrel out, check the bucking, make sure there is no damage. Same with the hop arm, no parts are broken off. WE Hop units are made of piss poor metal. Ive gone through 2 hop units on my Apache MP5, and the thing refuses to work properly at all and is turning into a total lemon

Personally I use white lithium grease on the outside of the spring and on the spring guide (metal on metal), then some silicone around the o rings on the piston head. I put a bit of lithium grease on the outside of the cylinder as well to help smoothen out the bolting action. On any rubber seals/orings make sure you just use silicone as other oils/greases can have additives/chemicals that'll react with the rubber and can weaken it.

I’ll be really interested to see anyone with the guts to hack the No4 up to make an L42 replica, maybe with a Falklands sniper kit. Much as I don’t want to be a collector and don’t want an inefficient RIF I really fancy a No4 for nostalgia reasons, it’s what I learnt on as a cadet (I’m not as old as that makes me seem, we were pretty poor where I’m from and also our SLRs went down on the Atlantic Conveyer, or so the legend went).

Being furloughed, and the lockdown stopping play thought I'd tick off something I've wanted to do for ages. Painted the MK18, and even the MK46! I'm now the proud owner of two very salty looking RIF's wanting to create a worn 'in country look' Painting a RIF is of course very subjective, but I hope you all like. 48. I own a TM one. Allow me to go off on one here: It's big. Really big. Pistol's quite large too (ba-dum-tiss). Only realy way to holster it is with a Viper belt mounted adjustable holster. it's as big as a desert eagle. If you have small hands, forget it. If you want a pistol that is 'fast' forget it. If you want to be able to transition to it quickly, forget it. (Admittedly I do alright with mine, but I've used it almost every skirmish for the last 3 and a half years, often as a primary.) If you have the suppressor attached whilst it's in the holster (and you'll want to) your draw length is from grabbing the pistol at your hip, the pistol isn't free and usable until you have lifted the pistol grip up to your armpit. Don't think you can get around this with a leg holster, then you'll never be able to kneel down again. There are a lot of negatives with this pistol. BUT. Jesus christ. If you want a pistol that you can rely on, buy one. and only one. You will only ever need one. This has to be the most robust anything ever. Mine had taken a beating over the years. Then I dropped it. Fell out of my holster. Lost. Gone. My favourite RIF lost. not to mention it was £200 worth of pistol. This happened in November 2012. Every game I played I looked around for it. Then. Mid August. Peeking out from under some leaves. NO. FREAKING. WAY. 9 bastard months. The coldest winter for years, plus all the usual yorkshire countryside weather. Plus the heat from summer. My MK23 had been out in it all. I would guess temperatures ranged from -5 to about 20 degrees over those months. I picked it up. looked over it and pulled the trigger. 'thumf'. sheeeiiiiiiit It still worked. Hadn't let out ANY guess. Aimed at a target 'thumf' again, straight as a die. better check it over before I do any damage to it. Popped the mag out, took out the takedown lever and slid the slide off. yup, frame looks fine. Check the upper. a slug, A mother fucking slug. right in the mechanism. and it wouldn't let me down. The pistol is awesome. It outranges most peoples AEGs all day erryday. It cannot be heard outside of 10m and is impossible to locate the exact direction of the shooting within hearing range. It's had more kills on its own that the entire rest of my arsenal, I'm convinced of it. Some days I'll take out £800 worth up Laylaxed up VSR and do better with the MK23. If I'm unsure about what to take to a game, I know I'll still have a good time if the MK23 is coming with me. oh, and just for balance, I DO also have the ASG one (same as KJ etcetcetc) and it's wank. Just utter crap. Yeah, I know what other people say about theirs, so maybe that shows how highly I hold this pistol. (and how terrified other players at my site are of it) and to clear up some misinformation in this thread so far: the TM MK23 and mags DO take Greengas, it will also take duster, 134a, 144a, red gas AND Guarder Black gas. I would imagine it handles propane fine, but I am NEVER putting that stink through my lovely pistol. Special forces don't use it 'a lot' it is too big and too heavy for a sidearm. and to agree with some other sentiments from the thread: If you use one, you cannot be cooler. They are stupid accurate. They are THE BEST sniper sidearm They are THE BEST woodland sidearm, regardless of playstyle They are (playstyle/game dependednt) one of the best CQB sidearms.
