Ordering From Taiwangun Without a UKARA
Jones-Effect and 3 others reacted to Asomodai for a topic
Get your UKARA first, by risking importing something without proof of a valid defense is detrimental to the UK Airsoft community. In answer to your query on how it works. Batches of Parcels are checked at a random basis regardless of contents, the fact that a parcel has a UKARA number or not is irrelevant if its not found in a random check. Your friend didn't get caught because the shipment it came in wasn't pulled out for the randomised checks. The UKARA number DOES become relevant if a parcel containing a RIF is caught up in a random search by Border Force at one of the ports or airports. That is when it is seized and a seizure notice is sent to your address, you then ask them to check the UKARA number as a method of proving your defense to import in your initial response to the seizure. The UKARA number is then checked against the database by Border Force at Birmingham. If the UKARA number matches the registered name and address with the name and address on the package then it will be entered back into the postal system. BF are much hotter on RIF identification and procedures recently as it is part of their firearms/weapons importation training. Basically, if it does get picked up by BF in a random search then you will need that UKARA number. If it is not valid then it will seized and destroyed, and under the VCRA/Section 5 you will either be at a minimum fined a few thousand quid or even a custodial sentence. Last year BF picked up on a RIF of mine despite having a UKARA number, I had to re-iterate the UKARA number, if I didn't have a UKARA number then I would have been fined and prosecuted. You cannot borrow someones UKARA number, because the number is registered to the UKARA holders home address and the RIF must be addressed to that same address. Do your three games once the COVID restrictions are lifted and get your own UKARA. Do you really want to risk getting prosecuted and potentially make more trouble for the Airsofting community in the UK?4 points -

Exemptions for VCRA include: a museum or gallery, theatrical performances and rehearsals of such performances, the production of films and television programmes, the organisation and holding of historical re-enactments, crown servants and registered airsofters. No offence, but it's sounding to me like you're trying to work around a law which was put in place to stop the misuse of RIFs. Don't do it--it's a really, really bad idea.3 points -
I've tried to avoid Chinese products and sellers for years. But it's almost unavoidable. Yes, it's about Covid-19, but it's also about their occupation of Tibet, tiananmen square, one child policy ect. Personally I don't want a product that's made by slave labour.3 points

Ok I can see that could be confusing and not worded as well as I should. What I meant was that covid has brought China more into the public eye and made me think about the amount of stuff we buy that is made there ! I blame it on the fact that was the third time I had written the damn post out, broadband kept going down ! probably a bloody Chinese router 🤣2 points -

This will depend entirely on your personal preference. I run a few different dots, currently my fave is a canis latrans mini which is stacked on my m4 short dot. Good brightness, clarity, and actual parallax correction.1 point -

Looking for a New Gun!
Ropeyshep reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
within the extremes of very short of very long not really, at least not compared to other factors. you're confusing fps and joules. for a given joule limit (which is what a site actually means when it says the limit is x fps on an 0.2g bb) heavier ammo will have a lower velocity, however it will travel further when hopped correctly despite the velocity being lower. eg, for a 1j limit: 0.2g is 328fps 0.3g is 269fps now the .3g will still travel further when hopped correctly even though it starts out slower. what you're suggesting is having a .3g at 328fps which is actually 1.5j, and is a hot gun (for the 1j limit in this example). whilst you should aim to get reasonably close to the joule limit of the sites you're running, there's a certain logic to ensuring your slightly under so that you're guaranteed to be able to play. yes and no, upgrading the hop alone will not give you better range/accuracy. but it will give you the ability to more consistenty hop heavier ammo which will give better range/accuracy. most stock guns are ok for bb's in the .3g range, which is a good balance of performance versus cost. whilst you can run really heavy ammo (eg .48's) in an assault rifle it gets very expensive very quickly. depends on the particular type. the ones to avoid are pneumatic blowback systems (eg g&g's versions), these are basically adding a massive set of extra air leaks for no particularly good reason. other mechanisms won't affect the shooting performance as much, but they do induce extra wear and tear on the system and often mean a bunch of proprietory parts which can be a pain to fix when they break. unless you really want a rumble pack in your gun i'd suggest just sticking to a standard gun.1 point -
THE TM MWS thread
GothicGhost reacted to LVOA-D for a topic
My Strike Industries build so far. Decided not to sell the real steel parts after all as I am working towards my license for real practicing with real firearms. So I decided to buy a new MWS to fit it all too. As soon as they are back in stock however I will be buying another MWS to make a Block II FSP build (the one I was going to do instead of this ). So here it is, my "Strike Rifle", not finished yet but for the most part it is to my liking. Only upgrades I'm definitely going to do is get an SI Forward Assist, an SI buffertube and the SI Fang triggerguard and perhaps a set of real magpul pro mbus'.1 point -
They are highly impracticable for Airsoft Skirmishing due to the cost of the shells and ease of losing them. The vast majority of people by airsoft rifles to skirmish so... Very few products in the first place. Lack of buyers limit the amount of places willing to sell them. Generally arent that good to use anyway.1 point

Just to add, you don't need UKARA if you have an alternative method of proving you're a legitimate skirmisher though of course it does make the verification process considerably more streamlined.1 point

I don't like the fnx either. My HK45 tactical and uspc do a fine job without being ugliest pistol on the field . Not sure why using 0.4 is really necessary in a pistol. I find 0.28 a nice sweet spot for the range, getting there quickly, accurately and with enough punch. Especially if it's stock you'd have time to check your watch before getting out the way.1 point -

For sale. A rectangular cardboard box. Good quality print work. A lovely shade of brown. Comes with a completely crap king arms SAA. Would look good if you want something to put on your wall and show both your love for guns and your solidarity for the LGBTQ community with its rainbow colour scheme. It holds gas. When you pull the trigger some even comes out of the barrel. Though most goes somewhere else. Mostly on your hand. Hell, run it on propane, who doesn't want their hand to smell like rotten anus? Reminds me of when uncle Brian used to come round for playtime... It comes with 6 shells, so if you are stupid enough to already own one of these then hooray, you have a means of carrying another 6 shots of bitter disappointment. And some spares so you can prolong your poor decision even further. This one has been customised. Actually, I'm going to call it weathering. By that I mean I dropped it on a slab about 10 minutes ago by accident while trying to be pretty good. Turns out I'm not pretty good. What else... Oh, faux wood grips that look like they were fashioned from a mid 1990s rover interior. It has a gun sock too to keep it looking pristine. Until you twirl it and it lands on something hard. Like a slab. Or, for the teenagers browsing this forum, the sock could good for a wank or two while watching the free bit of porn that comes on telly between midnight and 1am because mum put a filter on the internet. So , what this is is a gun for everyone. Horny teenagers, the downtrodden, the weirdos and those who like something a bit custom. So for this unique opportunity to own something I can't be arsed to put in the bin, I am asking for 35 of your hard earned (or if your furloughed, hard wanked) great british queens pounds please, that includes paying a man in shorts to come and post a sorry we missed you card through your letterbox and kick your cat in the face on the way back up the drive. And in return you'll get the most honestly described airsoft gun since jambwow discovered crack.£35

I just bought an OEM complete bcg from impulse101. $65 plus shipping. imo the stock bcg has a good balance of efficiency, and recoil weight. the stock float valve can be modded for more fps quite easily too. might be out of stock. I also bought a handful of feedlips from them too. http://impulse101.jp/en/488-m4-mws-parts (Any clue where this goes?) http://impulse101.jp/en/m4-mws-parts/tokyo-marui-spare-parts-m4-mws-mgg2-33-bolt-catch-cushion-48301 point

Specna Arms H20. Settled on the aesthetics now. It's... Taken some "breaking in" shall we say. A few teething problems out of the box, but it's all sorted now, thanks to a Gate USB link and an armorers wrench 😂 I've decided I fucking hate the CTR Stock though. Looks lovely, but getting it off and on and needing Allen keys to get to the battery. Get off. EPS supremacy! ... anyone want to buy a cheap CTR?1 point
