  1. I've made a handy flow chart for How to upgrade your Airsoft Glock. Featuring our own Glock Doctor, @rocketdogbert Hopefully this is useful to everyone

  2. Airsoft is a weird one. I love it and have since I discovered it 2 years ago but I do sometimes struggle with the whole dress up in full tactical gear and running around like I am saving the world (I do blame the wannabe 'Operators' amongst us for that!). However I then go and play and absolutely love it. I love that moment when you are in the middle of a battle and you take a moment to look around at everyone getting involved and working together (Or not........ See my statement above about the operators!) and I think to myself, this is cool. Deep down we are all a bit nerdy (no offence to anyone triggered by that 🙄). We all have a bit of geek in us. As @Rogerborg states above, the BB does not care where it comes from or where it is going, yet the geek in us wants our 'BB Accelerating Device' to look exactly like a real M4 or AK etc. There is no other reason for this but pure geekyness. Look at the reaction on this forum when ASG released their speedsim version of the M4 with the drop link stock and purple barrels. It does exactly the same as all the other 'BBAD's' but it offended the geek in most of us. Wether we like to admit it or not we all have a bit of geek in us. I own an IT company so I have a double dose of geek and happy to admit it. With this level of geeks comes the collecting, the attention to detail, the need to have the next best thing, the need to know everything we can about what is our current object of desire, etc, etc, etc. At the end of the day we are just a bunch pf happy nerds that like to play dress up and Army. I for one embrace that.

  3. Well, I'm just an overgrown kid. I was into airguns for many years, but spring, compressed air and CO2 (horrible stuff) just don't do it for me any more. And 4.5mm lead pellets and steel bbs are fiddly and can be dangerous. I love electric gear boxes, green gas and plastic 6mm bbs. These make it possible to use guns that look, and sometimes work, like the real thing. I can't skirmish any more for medical reasons, but I still love airsoft.

Better to be rude and honest than being nice while lying or not stating things as they are. I don't expect anyone to like me and honestly it's the internet, I couldn't give less fucks about it. You are about to start playing and I don't want you to buy something that's basically unreliable as hell (because of quality control) and that could potentially put you off the sport. Price difference isn't even that much so why not going for the better option right away? What's the point of risking to get a lemon (consequently dumping a shitload of cash to make it work) when you can save/spend a bit more and buy something that is REALLY plug & play? Basing my reasoning on you not having a high budget, the more cost effective solution would be what me and everybody else who replied to your question recommend: TM. More cost effective because you don't have to spend money on upgrades (TM mk23s are completely fine in their stock form, they've been for the last decade or so, upgrades are just QOL) or replacing bent/broken/off-spec parts right off the box. By buying a SSX you'll have to deal with: Outer barrel being misaligned, meaning shots will hit the inside of the suppressor going everywhere but where you aim. (This is the issue I had with mine) Suppressor comes at a stupid €50 extra. Unacceptable in my opinion. Feed lips requiring DIY mods to properly feed. TDC cover being wobbly as hell making shots inconsistent, thus rendering the whole thing pretty much useless. Gas Routers being meh, inconsistent energy output + never ending sticky trigger issues. The alu slide, despite looking cool, is completely useless on a NBB pistol, plus it's off spec by a mile. Many people reported damaged hop rubbers from the box. Can you fix all this stuff? I doubt you can, I also doubt giving money to a tech to fix them for you would be a good idea, at the end of the day you'll still spend more than a TM.

Go on, buy both but then don't you fucking dare coming back here crying because your "LAST AIRSOFTGUN YOU'LL EVER NEED" guns don't perform as advertised.

  7. ^ This! I am definitely a happy nerd 🙂 And collecting stuff is in my DNA. Don't get me started on guitars and music gear... that's another (expensive) passion of mine. My wife has the patience of a saint and is - I think - mostly just glad that I'm not collecting train sets or golf clubs. Yet.

  8. I am more of an Airsofter than a compulsive buyer, dont get me wrong I have my compulsions, but they are not Airsoft related. I enjoy playing and the rush of adrenaline from a game. I enjoy being outside and the team aspect of it (not that it really happens that much, most players are all for themselves). I dont tech or take my guns apart, I dont really collect guns either. Dont get me wrong I have quite a few, but they have led me to the ones I have and am really happy with. I cant see myself buying anymore guns in the near future as my current set ups work for me perfectly, thats not to say things wont change but unlike a lot of you I dont buy/sell get through a lot of guns. I guess I am in my Airsoft happy place right now.

  10. There's always going to be someone more dedicated than you. Take weather, some folks dont like playing outdoors at all, others will laugh at such softness and crawl around in the mud come freezing rain wind or snow. I sit in the middle, i'll take cold, wind and in the right frame of mind a bit of snow, but if the heavens open i dont like standing around getting soaked. Like for example collecting pews, i have a few but half a dozen long guns and a few pistols is a paltry collection compared to some. On the flip side none of those guns are stock and most dont get to last long without some tweak/modification/experiment taking place. However you want to take this hobby be it making one perfect pew or trying out every flavour of the month, tactically winning every game with co-ordinated teamwork or sitting in a hedge like a sentient land-mine just remember its all for fun.

  11. Probably a degree of both, but then I've also got three quadcopters, two RC cars, multiple computers, two games consoles, several motorcycles (with another purchase planned in the next few months) and I'm sat here with a Lego Saturn V on the coffee table in front of me! 🤣 But I do like getting out there and playing the game too, just wish the weather had been a bit more helpful just recently - not the rain, the high winds which kind of make the game much less fun. I know what you mean about guns growing on you, currently considering an AK for a DMR project and I'm a huge fan of my G36 and M4s.

  12. Unfortunately, only available in the US at present but certainly one to watch out for in the future... In the comments of the Facebook post they also mention 'shorty' versions with 170rnd capacity. https://www.airsoft-milsim-news.com/epm-2-magazine-by-pts-and-odin-innovations-overview/

You've already made a thread on this which had plenty of sensible replies. However you seem really keen on getting one of the Novritch pistols. So it really comes down to whether you want a pistol which is quiet and shoots further (SSX23) or faster and more fun (SSP1). There's no point asking us to tell you which is best for you, especially when most of us have several pistols (or more).

  16. When I started airsofting in 2006, I had a desire to have everything. I went through MP5's, M4's sniper rifles, just for the pure fact that they looked cool (also had an impact on big films during that time - Blackhawk down as an example). Then it got to a point that I had such a large airsoft collection, I had guns that I never skirmished with. From that point I started to reduce my collection and due to work and moving house, I did not have time to airsoft due to work. Then I got back into airsoft, a few years back and I feel I am much more wiser (no disrecspect to anyone) - I know what I really want and have. The airsoft scene had really moved on and now I have the stuff that I want. When I speak to new airsofters, I can understand "ah wow, I want this and that!" as I have have been there too. I try to encourage new players to speak to other airsofters, try out before parting with your hard earned cash. I still have that airsoft bug, but now it is suppressed from the memories of when I first started. I still look around seeing new guns that I really like the look off, but that's really it for me (Also I did work out how much I spent in a year when I first started - silly money I spent). With going through that vicious circle, I love airsofting even more.

Blowback is more fun, non blow back is more reliable, often more powerful & usually more economical with gas usage.........but on principle I wouldn't buy either of those, based upon pirated designs from more reputable manufacturers & his apparent hit & miss quality control, & poor follow up customer service.........but that's only my opinion 😏

  21. I have a S10 gasmask with ballistic tinted lenses, this is just for pic, I don't actually wear S10 with NVGs. Real team wendy straps and padding inside and proper counterweight at the back helps. It's only slightly heavier than my PVS 7 which I had no issues with.

  22. You replaced the lenses in that S10 cos they arent ballistic. Also, your neck must be the size of a tree trunk after carting that around all day... Me rocking the Blumentarn at the last Cold War game 3 weeks ago GHK Master Race in action

  23. Cheers, @L3wisD We're going through a big improvement stage at the moment in comparrison with the previous set up before it closed. We're finding a reliable way of marking RIF's once theyve been chrono'd as welll. Currently using sticky tape but I understand this can quite easily be taken off an re-applied. Chrono has recently broken too, so we're getting a higher quality one if the owners havent bought one already. Safe zone has been moved behind the blastwall into the main corridor now so the safety here is vastly improved to where the zone was before. Thank's to all for putting your points up here, they'll be taken into account when improving the site. Lastly, the company name has since changed from Elite Action Games to Incursion Airsoft. You can find the new website at https://www.incursionairsoft.co.uk/ Happy to help if anyone has any questions. 🙌

  25. Good points. I think Tunnels should lower their limit too, The Mall had 340 and even then a few people would say it was too high but for such an extreme close quarters I think a lower limit does make a lot of sense. I think some universal chrono/marking system should be in play, so many places get it right, others can get it so wrong but it differs from site to site so much its annoying.

    New CQB Site in Kent

    You and everyone else 🙄

  27. This continues to be a major bugbear for me at any site, never mind cqb jobbies, way back when 328fps was the standard aeg limit pretty much countrywide, no sites marked guns or checked bb weight etc, &, there would always be some small dicked loser that would attempt to fiddle the system with what was usually a slightly hotter gun, nothing too extreme, often 20-40fps over, in the belief it would give them the edge, even though the same plonkers usually hadn't worked on their hops, so just ended up with a high powered scattergun 🤣. 15+ years on, the standard accepted site fps has generally risen to 350, sometimes more, more stringent checks are taking place, & still the losers feel the need to circumnavigate the rules, believing more fps will make them better players. when this happens in professional sports, whether enhancement by drugs or mechanical aids, the cheats involved usually face lengthy or lifetime bans, shame this doesn't happen in airsoft.

  30. It's a broad church, and it's nice that there's there's room for milsimmers wearing ballistic plates cuz traininz, obsessive collectors hauling around an armoury, speedsofters running one pimped out HPA hi-capa, and even (looks around shiftily) semi-LARPers. At the end of the day, it's just 6mm BBs flying through the air. They don't know or care what they came out of, or what they're going to hit. Heck, even if you're a Safe Zone lurker, If you're enjoying the hobby in any way, it's a win.

    NYPDs latest bust

The NYPD are notorious for posting photos of seized "weapons", often omitting the fact they are replicas/airsoft/airguns. It's not a gun friendly city and former mayor Bloomberg is fanatically anti-second amendment. The guy in question is a complete idiot. You play stupid games and you win stupid prizes. But there should be transparency in the original post by the police.

    NYPDs latest bust

Especially when they add the sentence "the risks our officers face every day", as far as I can tell the youtuber faced all the risks, unless if course he chose to return fire, at which point the cops run the risk of something akin to a black man's pinch (am I still allowed to call them that 🤔) if his FPS is high ?. Seriously, they did their job, well done, but shite follow up on twitter, frickin drama queens. edit: just watched the video, what a f@ckin plum, & he carried on posturing for the camera, failing to spot the chopper circling overhead..........yet another reason to hate all airsoft youtube "celebrities", bunch of twatty walts, just play the game ffs.

..... and of course (other than being in idiotic possession of airsoft guns in public) he is in breach of American law due to having removed the orange tips, and state law by not having orange strips along the length of the guns https://airsoftaculous.com/airsoft-laws-in-new-york/ Getting an armed response call out in America is not clever In the eyes of the law in New York he was in possession of imitation weapons under firearms legislation

  38. Added a G&P metal fore grip and rail section as its getting a little heavy so the foregrip really helps with that. Really wanted to stick the Troy version on but shipping woes. Awaiting new surefire and some other bits. Not much left now of the original WE M4, just the buffer tube, mag release and inner barrel / hop, thats about it I think. Mostly Angry gun inside. Optics and laser are RS, some other little RS parts dotted around.
