    THE TM MWS thread

Hi all, At last I have managed to register for the forum and stop lurking reading all 90+ pages of (mainly) wisdom. A big thanks to BadaBing / Wolf, @ATRG_ and Stu (@BeefyMilsim) for getting me hooked on the MWS platform and Beefy for selling me his CQBR I am yet to field it due to a torn knee ligament but I have had fun tweaking it and making it ready. As I run a G&P M4 AEG I knew what lay out I wanted and it is almost there (my wallet can breathe a sigh of relief now!) Magpul pistol grip (ERG? Too many TLAs in their product range!) Magpul AFG Ladder RIS covers DP light weight bolt RA Tech NPAS (Silver one, needed some fettling to fit) DP nozzle spring set DP Nozzle seal cup Modify Tan and Laylax hop arm (already fitted when I got it) Ambi safety (I shoot left handed as my right eye is Mr Magoo standard!) Magpul grips on mags (5 so far, I am not too trigger happy!) On Order: Extended mag release Extended bolt release (again, for lefty use) Angry Gun Speed Buffer weight Angry Gun nozzle with MPA PTS QD sling plate I then have the parts to re-build the original BCG as a spare. Not sure I need a spare but for weekenders / milsim I would be happy to throw it in the case. Topped off with Vortex red dot and PEQ / Olight Valkyrie for light and "lazers" I might try and find a way to cram the X301 tracer into the can, that might be a good weekend project! Only other possible upgrade is a Magpul CTR stock but I am finding the current one ok. Good news is the knee is almost healed so I can play again and try to get some fitness back!

Great to hear that you've thought it through! One staircase per team sounds like a decent, simple solution. Something more complicated might be to put a riot shield in each staircase, which can only be used in that staircase. So once it's been used to push up, it gets left at the top, and can be grabbed by the other team and used to push back down again, rinse and repeat. Getting airsofters to listen though...

  4. Love the suggestions. Will see what we can do There are two main stair cases. and 5 elevators. The other stair cases are linked to a AFA (Automatic fire alarm) We are trying to see if we can disable this but might not be able to due to its classification as a "high rise" We've talked this over alot infact as we know this will be a serious problem in gameplay. We will just need to see how it unfolds in gameplay but some of the ideas are to have 1 stair case per team and your not allowed to go in the other teams. We might block the stair wells going up to certain floors forcing players to go through the building. Or just take the elevator 😜 Any suggestions would not fall on deaf ears!

    New CQB Site in Kent

Can some of the floors be themed? A jungle floor for instance would be pretty cool. Dim lights, loads of artificial ferns/plants etc. Like something from an overgrown city a la I am Legend, The Last of Us etc John Wick club type neon floor. Loads of pink and blue fluorescent lighting, music etc Hospital themed floor. Creepy floor with loads of occult markings, fake blood on the walls, bloody drag stains on the floor, alters, rituals etc. Like something out of Doom. Supermarket floor. Prison floor. Containment floor. Think Labs level from Escape from Tarkov. Decontamination tents, PVC linking tunnels, temporary lab type setups etc And yes, I'll take free membership as payment for my helpful suggestions 😄

  6. Visited Camp Sparta in Lincolnshire yesterday, here aa breakdown of my thoughts and review of the site if you will for anyone thinking of paying them a visit. Pros The site itself is awesome, a 31 acre complex on an old RAF barracks consisting of 15 buildings, with roads and large outside areas in between. This not only means you can play a variety of different games and really mix things up, but also that there is literally a role here for everyone and every type of player and gun from Snipers and DMRs right down to compact SMG and pistol users. The Marshals were really good, only had one instance all day of someone suspected of not calling hits but wasn't the marshals fault. Overall they kept a great eye on games and made sure they were running smoothly, helped by the majority of players playing fairly and honestly. Only one suspected not hit caller and another player who cracked a door open just enough to stick his pistol through and shoot after just been told in the briefing this was not allowed. But yeah, neither the marshals fault. You always get the odd dickhead who'll cheat or at least try to as soon as their back is turned. Facilities were really good, the car park had plenty space for everyone and was literally right next to the rooms used for equipment and gearing up. So, if like me you take a lot of crap (some say too much), it saved me making multiple 2-3 minute runs to and from the car. The gearing up area was large and had plenty tables and space for everyone, to need to jostle or get there early for a good spot, almost everyone could have had a large table to themselves if the wanted. I imagine it gets busier, but still, there was plenty more space still available and having room to spread your gear out on a table was welcome. The toilets were also proper indoor toilets, not as clean as 5* hotel, but a million times nicer than a porterloo for sure. The freedom to use the entire site was great. All but 2 of the buildings were in play and you could use them if you so wished. For me this been my first visit didnt lead to much, more than once I entered a building thinking I could cut through to the other side to flank the other team or get round them only to find dead ends a dark ( pitch black ) corridors. But I'm sure with greater knowledge and experience of the site you could really get to know your way around the site and all its buildings, most of which were of considerable size too, each one like entering a mini maze with many of the entrances and exits sealed off and entry only gained at certain points. Also, just making your way down a dark interior corridor with just a flashlight and laser on your gun for light felt awesome. My first experience playing indoors at all and I liked it. Cons The Morning briefing took far too long. They had some technical issues with their projector apparently, but even so, It took the piss a\ bit just how long it took things to get going in the morning. I arrived just after half 8 and it was almost 11 before the first game was under way. Now I hate been rushed, I like having time to arrive, get my kit sorted, gas up and load up etc, have a smoke and morning coffee etc. But almost having enough time to watch a Lord of the Rings movie between arriving and getting playing is a bit of a joke. People were just milling around for ages before they pulled us into the morning briefing, and the briefing itself was overly long. I get you always have to cater to the new players and rentals too, but theirs rule explanation and then theirs giving a 20+ minute power point presentation and it just felt way too excessive. Explaining the rules shouldn't take longer than 5 minutes, and then a few more minutes to go over anything specific to that site regards safety, safe zones, where not to go etc. After the briefing there was yet more milling around before we were finally assembled and given the first game There was a game played in the afternoon where there was a serious imbalance in the teams, caused by an avoidable situation. The teams in the morning were very balanced it seemed, but we started the afternoon playing a game attacking 2 buildings, and the other team clearly had more than a few people who had done this before and knew the drill. The drill, it became clear, was to stock up on grenades galore and camp at the top of the stairs in each building, making it nearly impossible to get any further than half way up the stairs. I seriously lost count of how many grenades they used, but it was a lot, and after half an hour we'd got absolutely no where, with every member of their team camped at the top of staircases, not a single player on the ground floor, just rolling grenade after grenade down on us between mag dumps any time any of us popped our head and shoulders round the corners with our guns up. Now, we could have made some headway if we'd had grenades of our own, several times we made a bit of a push and got into positions where we could have chucked a grenade to help take the top of the stair cases, the marshals eventually tried offering advise and were telling us to use grenades too, but none of our team had any, none. The other team had apparently bought several hundred over dinner time. All it would take is for them to give a heads up that in the afternoon, knowing how that particular game plays out, that it might be a good idea for atleast a few people on each team to grab some grenades. To their credit they saw how we were stuck in a none win scenario and stopped the game after half an hour or so, but it was just a frustrating game really, either make both teams aware of the situation or limit the use of grenades to a set number per team and also make them have players spread out a bit with some on the ground floor. So that the attacking team doesn't find 20 odd guns aimed at them at the top of each staircase. Other than those 2 little rants which perhaps made it sound like I didnt enjoy the day, I have to say I really did. The site itself and facilities were top draw and was well marshalled by and large. Just a shame it took so long to get going and that a heads up wasn't given for the first game of the afternoon. Overall though, a great site. I'll definitely go back at some point, just a shame its almost 90 minutes away. If it were closer to me I'd certainly familiarise myself with this site a lot more.

  10. Crown Airsoft Limited 🤬 (Don’t buy from this company, this was my experience!!!) I tried to buy a new Glock 18c, it was a reasonable price and came with a tracking number. Here’s the negative side: 1. Tracking number, was slow to give progress, had to email them a number of times for updates! 2. Only got one response back via email, then afterwards same thing happened! 3. Kept saying if I don’t get a response back I will want my money back, waited until the end of the month, nothing! 4. Had enough, sent them an email for a refund, no response what so ever!!! Here’s the Positive side: 1. PayPal to the rescue!!! 😁 Went through PayPal to take on the case (they said it would take a month) and was completely resolved and got my entire 💷 back, thank you to those people! 😎👍 So the moral of this story is always use PayPal for purchasing 🔫’S in my opinion!!! 🤔 .... and don’t buy from this company!!! 💷GAMBLE💷

  11. How many staircases? Got plans to stop them getting choked? I ask because it can become an issue at the Depot even with 5 staircases in play over 2 floors. It only takes a couple of defenders per staircase to lock them down pretty effectively.

  12. A Walter ppk/s.... Gindan gun. Good for 8 meters... 0.25s sort of float in mid air. Actually bought for a welrod build, which I intend to use as an alternative to a melee weapon but it can do the same thing for now.

    New CQB Site in Kent

As excited as I am for another cqb site, this is the third site they are talking about opening and haven’t got the smaller ones open yet. I will get properly excited when at least one of the sites is running and we can see some progress. Yes I’m a bit cynical tonight but also very happy to be proven wrong and for all three to open, be successful and blow me away with their awesomeness

  16. Hey guys! after speaking to the bank for what felt like 2 hours.. I have finally got my money back told them everything the address his family the box he sent a picture of, the rug he used to take the pictures.. everything. They put the money in in seconds. On another not as well I said paid threw f&f but in fact it came straight out of my account so I think I got a bit lucky 🍀.. they handled it perfectly. The guy Tom who delt with the call couldn’t of been nicer about things really couldn’t. The police phoned me this morning regarding the issue and I still want to take things further.. he still has the other buyers money Stephen Joyce as he paid threw f&f I’m not letting him scam another bloke who is looking for something again. Named and shamed! I’m going to phone all the sites he goes to to get him banned. Until Stephen gets his money back it’s not over yet. Also I just want to say a massive thank you to the people who helped me deal with this.. salt of the earth kind of people. I really do appreciate all the looking up, the searches everything. I felt so alone and didn’t have a clue what to do.. but use guys made it right. I’m really grateful for that. If anyone is around the Edinburgh area in the next couple of weeks for a game of Airsoft at my local I would love that 👌 cheers again Craig

    New CQB Site in Kent

Its okay. Like we said its not... not going to happen its just a long process. We're nearly 15,000 in the hole but we should recop that when we finally get the site. The good news is the section 77 holds are only for school sites. It wont apply to the warehouses & hospitals we are looking at. First one being this Tuesday. But with time scales now things wont happen to the new year..

    New CQB Site in Kent

I will post it here first... in Short. Hextable wont happen until January. This is all because of a section 77 that is unique to schools. So we have changed tactic and are going for a few hospitals we have had made available to us in the Kent area (Dartford / gravesend and Maidstone). Everyone is now getting a refund and we will open up bookings when we got a confirmed date. Hi everyone, thanks for being patient. Unfortunately the landowners of Hextable school have put a delay on our contract until January next year. We feel that we owe you an explanation as you’ve all been understanding and patient with us, and we’re able to share the reasons for the long delays now. ‘Section 77’ is how Councils dispose of old schools, making them available for other uses. The Brexit saga peaked just as the Hextable schools S77 was submitted to the Government, causing the long delays and unpredictable waiting times we’ve been experiencing. The Land Owners have apologised to us, and if permitted we will share the body of text with you to be as transparent as we can. We will also be contacting everyone with an existing reservation via the email address you provided with further information. While we wait for the Hextable site and keep chasing it (it's still happening), we’re actively pursuing other great indoor sites such as old hospitals in the Kent region, and we’re in talks with the LandOwners to start using them (these other sites don’t have the Section 77 issue as it only applies to old schools)

  20. so I eventually joined the MWS club and to make it have a variable FPS because of the crazy UK weather I fitted an NPAS I was worried that the little adjustment tool would disappear into my bag never to be found again so I found a good solution. Basically I dremeled a channel into the stock plate the same shape as the little tool. Now it won't get lost and always be handy.

  21. Well I’m not happy with them. Ordered a raptor pkp from them and it’s arrived poorly packaged with pita missing and metal bits snapped off. Sent them a message and waiting on their reply. Why send an 8kg gun in a thin cardboard box with absolutely zero padding.

  23. Ok, bit of an update. I went here at the weekend and can confirm all of what @Luke85 stated in July. The brief was overly long, yet still managed to leave out important info such as that the entire site was semi only (I had to ask). There was a total of 2 Marshals all day neither of whom seemed overly interested in the game or the issues presented to them. The game didn't start till nearly 11 after gates opened at 0830. The biggest issue however, and one that I spotted right after the brief, was that the teams were divided down into the 'regulars' who were all a bunch of hardcore geardos - you know the type - and whom I assumed to be the Head Marshall for the day (he had gave the safety brief, more on that later) vs everyone else who had bothered to turn up. You can see where this is heading, as we did and sadly we weren't disappointed in our assessment. The hit taking and general power gaming from this bunch was appalling. I was hitting people from less than 4m away in a building (they couldn't see me as I was shooting through a large hole in the wall at an oblique angle) with .36s and I could visibly see them flinching but they all consistently failed to take it. They all failed the number one rule of Don't be a Dick by turning up with respirators (yes!) so they could use smoke grenades indoors on purpose. The amount of solid state grenades being chucked around by them was silly. One game of hold an objective for 10mins was so obviously bent in favour of this bunch of regulars was ridiculous. We had held it for over 10mins before a Marshall even appeared who promptly declared it contested before the other team finally took it and we had no chance of getting back upstairs. I can take the non hit taking but the power gaming was awful, we left at lunch. Speaking to some of our team members who had been there before, apparently this is a regular occurrence when this bunch turn up. A great site, being badly ran by the Marshals to the betterment of a small in-group. Put it this way, I usually don't feel too bad about any particular site if I am getting loads of 'kills'. My battle buddy and I consistently outplayed this bunch of 'milsim' regulars, I got loads of kills and I enjoyed it not one jot...... Avoid till its better ran. Final point - the 'Head Marshal' that briefed wasn't actually the Head Marshal, just and I quote one of the other Marshals - 'A bloke who helps us out occasionally'. So they basically let a paying player run the safety brief and the games for the day.
